Fantastic location, good pools, okay rooms. Expect a 3 star hotel room quality, definitely not a 4 star. Avoid all inclusive or half board dinner and lunch service, it’s not worth it. Reminded me of pub food, or school lunch. We booked half board but decided to go out and eat somewhere else instead. Lots of good restaurants around that area.

Review of H10 Tenerife Playa – January Stay We stayed at the H10 Tenerife Playa in Puerto de la Cruz for 12 nights in January on an all-inclusive basis. The hotel is in a fantastic seafront location with easy access to the promenade and local attractions. Check-in & First Impressions The check-in process was warm and welcoming, with a complimentary glass of cava on arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful, though the process could have been a little more streamlined. Room (Double Sea View) We stayed in a Double Sea View Room on the eighth floor (Room 810). The room was bright, clean, and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and plenty of charging points. The balcony was small but had a lovely sea view, though lower floors may have obstructed views due to mature trees. The bathroom was spotless, and the shower had great water pressure. A couple of minor downsides—the wardrobe was quite small for a long stay, and the safe used an old-fashioned key rather than a modern keypad system. A great feature was the wristband, which doubled as a room key and could also be used for charging purchases to the room. No more lost key cards! Food & Drink The hotel has two restaurants: • El Drago (Main Buffet Restaurant) – a good variety of food, with themed nights (Asian and Mexican were particularly good). The seating area offers great sea views. • El Lagar (Pool Bar & À La Carte Restaurant) – a casual lunch spot by day, turning into an à la carte restaurant in the evening. The food here was excellent and offered a quieter, more relaxed dining experience compared to the buffet. There are two bars: a pool bar (open until 5pm) and the main hotel bar (open until midnight). Drinks selection was extensive, and service was friendly and efficient. Facilities & Entertainment • Entertainment Lounge – a mix of live singers, acrobats, and flamenco performances. Some shows were better than others, but overall, evening entertainment was decent. • Daytime activities – aqua aerobics, table tennis, darts, archery, and pétanque. • Pool area – two pools, including one heated, plus a small hot tub and a toddler pool. A large solarium offers extra sunbathing space. • Gym & Spa – a small gym with great coastal views and a spa with a sauna and massage treatments (extra charge). Location One of the best things about this hotel is the location. It’s right on the seafront, within walking distance to the town centre, local restaurants, and shops. The Lago Martiánez lido is nearby, offering safer seawater swimming for €5. For day trips, we recommend visiting: • La Orotava – a charming historic town just 10 minutes away by taxi. • Santa Cruz de Tenerife – a great day trip, easily accessible by bus (45 mins). Visit on market day (Sunday) for a bustling experience. Overall Verdict ✅ Pros: ✔ Great seafront location ✔ Comfortable, well-equipped rooms (especially on higher floors) ✔ Good food & drink options ✔ Friendly staff & service ✔ Entertainment & activities for a relaxed stay ❌ Cons: ✖ Wardrobe space in the room could be bigger ✖ Key-operated safe instead of a modern digital one ✖ Some sunbeds shaded at times due to surrounding trees Would we stay again? Yes, definitely. Despite a few small niggles, the friendly atmosphere, location, and overall experience make this a great option for those looking to explore the north of Tenerife. 📌 Want to see more? My mum and I came in March 2025 for our third visit... Staff are friendly and helpful! Especially Fernando (evening indoor bar), Raul (entertainment and activities) and Mercedes (chambermaid). The access into the hotel is flat and on the ground floor is the main reception, hotel customer representative, indoor bar (which opens around 4/5), stepped and slow sloped access to the outdoor areas which include heated pool, non heated pool and small jacuzzi, outdoor pool bar (open lunch til approx 4), outdoor toilets, privilege sun bathing area, boules pit and gaming area where activities are hosted by the hotel. The pool bar is an odd one, anyone can get drinks and it's allocated to your room. But the snack food is restricted to all inclusive - which we didn't understand... If you're willing to pay add the bill it to the room?! The pool bar has a water drinks machine to one side which we used on our second and third stay. This is the only one we've seen and isn't available after it closes. The pool bar turns into an "Al La Carte" restaurant in the evenings with a select menu which needs to be booked with th customer service rep. We were invited here on our third stay which was all inclusive. The food was absolutely delicious! The bedrooms are tidy and cleaned well by the maids who came most if not every day. There are different room choice available at different costs no matter how you book your holiday; rooms in "The Tower" don't have balconies, rooms with balcony & pool views and then rooms with balcony & sea views along the front cost more. Not sure what privilege rooms come with. You get a little set in the bathrooms which includes dental.kit, shower cap, shaving kit, comb and shoe shine. Handy if you've forgotten these simple items. All rooms come with a safe which I think was €15 for 1 week with a €10 deposit returned at the end of the week. The restaurant is on the first floor and they recommend you book a time, but this isn't necessary. It has a good variety at breakfast and dinner. My mum is a fussy eater but manages to easily find something every time! There's also a live cooking station which does omelette and fried egg in the morning and a speciality in the evening. There's also a microwave if you want to heat up your meal. The heated pool has a mobility chair which is amazing! As well as stepped and ladder access. I don't remember a mobility chair being at the non heated pool but I didn't spend alot of time in that. There's a security man on each day and some evenings. The staff are keen to detail, remembering faces and will follow and challenge people if not recognized. And yes, they escort non residents out of the hotel! Evening entertainment is hit and miss but something is on every night and I suppose it depends what you're into. It's focused for adults, nothing for children. Indoor bar service table service, they don't like you going up to the bar. The service is good but would be better if more staff were on shift. The staff that are there work hard and never stop, but it can be hard to get their attention to be served as they're just run off their feet. I'd advise you try to get their attention when you're halfway through your current drink. They also service a small outdoor covered area which is right next to the indoor bar. The location is brilliant; you get dropped off at the corner supermarket which is not even a 2 minute walk along the flat front. You're straight opposite a small beach that hosts "surf school" and not even a 5 minute walk from the chargeable Martianez pools. Walk to "Old Town" is maybe 20 mins with shops, cafes and restaurants en route. 5 minute walk to the Loro Parque train stop next to McDonalds. Primor is a few doors up (turn left outside the hotel). Brilliant shop! It's a cheap but good quality shop stocking anything from shower gel to make up to perfume/aftershave, nappies, hair bobbles. It's a mix of the British Superdrug/Boots/Savers/Bodycare. So if you've forgotten any of your toiletries or are after a present, head there.

The hotel exceeds expectations! Best location in Puerto de la Cruz, just 1 min to the ocean, 3 min to Train to Loro Parque, lots of restaurants and shops around. We had HB - excellent breakfast (inkl Cava/champagne for breakfast) and dinner! Prices in the hotel are very reasonable: water at dinner for 2 cost 2,40 euro, Aperol - 6 euro, big tasty pizza 7 euro, salad with Tuna - 7 euro. Everything is in very good condition! Doesn’t look like an old hotel. Every day either show or live music, bingo, karaoke, aqua gym, during holidays also kids activities. There is also a small playground there. Heated swimming pool was good and everyone has enough sunbeds. We got a sea view, just stunning! Very recommended! It’s also quiet there in the evenings . Guests are mainly British 60+, Spanish, also some families with kids, very nice atmosphere. Everyone speaks perfect English. I love the bracelets, which work as room key and also for payment, very convenient. Stuff was very friendly! I would love to come back!

An excellent hotel. First the hotel is very nice and comfortable. We had a room on a high floor overlooking the ocean - recommend that! It was so peaceful to see the sunrise and sunset and hear the sound of the ocean. The beds were very comfortable. The gym is small but with an amazing view and has everything I needed. The heated pool in winter was a plus. The staff is great - friendly and helpful. In particular at breakfast, the ladies at the egg station and Saraya were all great. The housekeeping and front desk as well. The animation team was so great too! The location is great, a lot of good bars and restaurants nearby. Also can walk or run along the sea with lots to explore. From the town you can also book excursions to see other parts of the island. Only downside is there isn’t a great beach right next to the hotel, but we were happy walking a bit or going to the pool. Overall, recommend !
