Flights: Although there are currently no direct flights from the UK to Turks and Caicos, flights from Manchester Airport and London Heathrow Airport only require one stop along the way. Other UK airports require more than one stop.

Passport/visa requirements: Your passport must be valid for a minimum period of 6 months for entry and exit. A tourist visa is not required for stays under 90 days.

Packing essentials:Turks and Caicos enjoys hot weather throughout the year, so important items to bring with you should include light clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen lotion, bug repellent, sandals and a sun hat. Although the islands experience very little rainfall, its tropical climate makes it advisable to pack a light waterproof jacket.

A relaxing boat ride to the Caicos Cays, a beguiling cluster of sandy elevations on top of the coral reefs, is also highly recommended. Gibbs Cay offers the chance to swim with stingrays and Little Water Cay is home to iguanas which will fascinate young holidaymakers.

On the capital island of Grand Turk, tourists can hike through stunning landscapes, learn about the rich culture and observe majestic wild horses and donkeys roaming along the beautiful beaches.

The islands are also a big hit with diving enthusiasts who arrive from around the globe to explore The Wall, a breathtaking 7,000-foot continental shelf ocean drop-off

Other major attractions in Turks and Caicos include Chalk Sound National Park, Cheshire Hall Plantation, St. Thomas Anglican Church, Conch Bar Caves National Park, Turks and Caicos National Museum, Crossing Place Trail, Mudjin Harbour and Grand Turk Lighthouse, which was built in 1852.

Visitors can savour a range of mouth-watering seafood dishes and local island favourites, including conch fritters and fresh lobster.

For those seeking more adventure, there are many exhilarating activities to enjoy, such as dune buggy safaris and quad biking along the dramatic cliff tops. Other popular pursuits include birdwatching, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, sailing and a range of water sports.

Turks and Caicos Weather

The tropical climate of the Turks and Caicos Islands provides a perfect setting for a sun-blitzed holiday all year round. The hottest time of year falls between April and October, which coincides with the hurricane season. During these months, temperatures soar into the mid-30s, although there is a likelihood of more rainfall. The peak season is December to April when temperatures are cooler but still pleasantly warm, and there is an average of nine hours of sunshine a day. The islands’ water temperatures are perfect for swimming, averaging 29°C in the summer and ranging from 23°C to 26°C during the winter months.
