While its colonial links with the UK are still detectable, there’s no mistaking the Chinese heritage of this great country.

From its smoky Buddhist temples to its hectic, bustling markets, the traditional Hong Kong sits side by side with its 21st century self – with a skyline to rival any in the world.

Our package holidays to Hong Kong will let you experience it all for yourself, from a bowl of wonton noodles served fresh at a night market to the jaw dropping vistas afforded after taking a trip up Asia’s oldest cable railway.

Hong Kong Highlights

Hong Kong holidays are not complete without a ride on a Star Ferry. Take an evening ride from Kowloon to Central on a pick of glorious electric-diesel vessels, and watch the iconic skyline drift by.

A tourist hotspot, but one well worth experiencing, Man Mo Temple is another HK highlight. One of the area’s oldest temples, this is a building dedicated to the gods of literature and war. While incense burns, visitors are ushered through the temple's grounds, past the elaborate carvings, sacred halls and fortune tellers.

A stay in Hong Kong needs to take in one of the many types of markets open throughout the night, including the Temple Street Night Market, Ladies Market, Jade Market, Flower Market and Stanley Market. Incredible trinkets, wonderful sights and a great atmosphere are just some of the draws to a traditional Hong Kong market.

And if you want a chance to take in a showstopping view, head to Victoria Peak. To reach this tourist favourite, board the Peak Tram, which is 125 years old and an almost vertical climb to the top.

Hong Kong holiday packages can include a few recommended excursions, and it’s well worth exploring the natural side of the country, particularly the jungles, islands and beaches.

Hong Kong weather

Hong Kong shares the same latitude as Rio de Janeiro and Calcutta, so prepare for warm temperatures. Summer time in Hong Kong can reach around 32°C, while 15°C in December is considered by locals as cold.

Thanks to this climate, Hong Kong holidays are great all year round, but autumn is considered the best time to visit.
