Bottom line up front: Fine place to sleep. Unpleasant to spend any time in otherwise. This place leaves a lot to be desired. There are no coffee machines in the rooms. No water provided, at all. The room carpets are dirty. And lastly, but most impactful, the front desk staff, in particular a man with a tan complexion who was manning the check in at midnight was incredibly rude and dismissive, as if he was evaluating us to determine whether myself and my cousin deserved his respect. I imagine that based on how he behaved towards us that he decided we didn’t. They also don’t have any kind of place to grab breakfast, except for this pre-packaged food store in the lobby. TLDR: this is an okay 6/10 spot to rest your head, but don’t expect it to be pleasant. The only bright spot was the luggage attendants and doormen, who were very respectful and attentive. The front desk staff need serious work, and this hotel needs a huge facelift because it truly is somewhat grimy.

If you are taking a trip to see the city, this is the perfect location! Centrally located to all th must sees. We walked most everywhere from the hotel. Ubers and taxis were also readily available and super easy to use. The rooms are small but perfectly comfortable. We honestly didn’t spend much time in them anyway. The elevators were fast enough. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The restaurant wasn’t the best in my opinion. The area has tons of other options. Right down the street was a little Irish pub and it was delicious! Get the New York strip sandwich for sure! Thanks again Park Central for a great trip!!

This is a very centrally located hotel and was convenient to the sites and subway. However, that is about where it ends for the benefits of staying in this hotel. We stayed Dec 20-24, and reading the other reviews we had level set expectations. We also acknowledge that we paid a lot less for this hotel than others in the area over the same dates; so we knew going in it wasn’t going to be the best experience. At the end of the day, I would never stay at this hotel again and strongly consider others to think about doing so. I can look past the tattered window shades, etc… but what I think are basic items for a successful stay- the temperature of the room and hot water- are things that did not deliver on this stay. Our room seemed to be in a “heat only” mode- and our room was like a furnace! It was extremely uncomfortable and there was no way to cool the room down- we had the thermostat set at 65, and the heat was constantly on. Also, hot water is a scarcity in this hotel. The elevators are a HUGE issue- sometimes waiting over 30minutes to get on an elevator. Many times we chose to walk down or up to our room on the 18th floor. At the end of the day, it was a good thing that we were out most of the day enjoying the sites; but what is supposed to be a respite from exploring the busy streets, this is not that hotel.

I was skeptical since price was so low for NYC hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! Nice lobby, pleasant personnel and room and bed were comfortable. Not many services…no coffee in lobby or room, but shop in lobby and Starbucks right outside the door. Great location for park, museums and broadway shows. Plenty of nice restaurants within a block and Carnegie Hall across the street. Good experience.

If I could give zero stars for my experience I would. The hotel itself is nice but the manager on duty was extremely unkind. I had back to back meetings scheduled from 2pm-5pm so it was extremely important that I be able to check in early. Knowing this, I called multiple hotels in the area to ask if early check in was available BEFORE I booked. I explained that I would not book unless I could Check in. When I called park central hotel, the lady I spoke to said yes. I was not told “it’s not guaranteed” as other hotels stated. I emphasized my situation and was told they could check me in if I arrive Around 1:30. I show up, and they say they can’t check me in. The girl at the counter calls the manager. The manager says there’s nothing he can do - I explain I called ahead. He proceeds to tell me, OVER AND OVER, that “no one told you that”. Why would I lie? My reservation was dependent on that. Had they said otherwise, I would have called another hotel and booked elsewhere. He continued to tell me, over and over, no one told you that. I started getting upset because I know What I was told and now I’m being gaslit. I have meetings scheduled, time is running out. He’s saying they can’t check me in until 4pm. After spending an hour arguing, calling to try and cancel my reservation for a refund, move my meetings and trying to find a nearby hotel to check in… the front desk staff switches. Suddenly I see people checking in. I go back over to a new (and very kind) lady who I explain my situation to - she tells me there’s a room available (it’s now almost 2:30). She and the other lady at the front desk at that time were very kind to me. The girl before them along with the manager both had terrible attitudes. I wish I had Gotten their names to file a formal complaint to the hotel. ALSO: I prepaid my reservation and put down $100 deposit, the hotel just randomly decided to charge my card $97 today.
