We stayed here at the beginning of July with our family of five. We had reserved two rooms for seven nights. Upon arrival, we were welcomed into a fresh lobby, and the reception was smooth and friendly. Check-in went very smoothly; $500 was reserved per room on the credit card. At check-out, the resort fee was deducted, and the remaining amount was promptly released.
We were given two well-maintained rooms on the fifth floor, which turned out to be a blessing since only one elevator was working. The staff who cleaned our rooms did an excellent job. We received fresh towels daily, and the room was kept tidy.
A downside was the very noisy air conditioning, which continued to blow loudly even after being turned off. Earplugs are not a luxury.
The location is excellent and perfect as a base for exploring NYC. The hotel is easily accessible via the subway, and there is a wide selection of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. However, the hotel itself is very large, which can make the lobby extremely busy at times.
I can definitely recommend this hotel and hope that the issue with the elevators is resolved soon, as it attracts unnecessary criticism.

The location of the hotel is excellent. That is the only positive I can state. The hotel is non-smoking and in order to enforce it there are sensors in every room. It is a scam. Upon checking out I was charged $573 for two nights, out of three, where I was accused of smoking. I do not smoke! No one at the hotel has responded to multiple inquiries regarding this extra charge. No One!!! I call it a scam because as I looked at reviews from other guests this is a common practice that many others have been victims of.
+++I am editing my post because the response from the hotel is the same to every other guest who has had this same experience. NO ONE from The Park Central has responded to my phone calls or emails to personally discuss this issue.

Just stayed at the Park Central for almost two weeks and had an amazing experience! The service was fantastic, the rooms were extremely clean, and the bar area was amazing! The hotel was in a perfect location close to Central Park, time square, and the theater district. Couldn’t have asked for a better location on top of the fantastic staff that made the experience all the better. Also great live music in the hotel bar, plus great restaurants and bars around the corner and across the street.
If I can give the hotel and staff more then 5 stars I would!!! Definitely will be back soon!!!

My friend and I stayed at the Park Central Hotel over labour's day weekend and i could not have been more happy!
I've worked in hospitality for over ten years and i am really critical of hotels I stay in, and this one gave me only positive things to say!
Location is amazing, everybody from the staff were so kind and helpful, and the rooms were sparkling clean! We arrived way before check in time (our bus arrived in the city at 7am) and our room wasnt ready yet, but they still checked our luggage and checked us in in their system so when we came back we only needed to grab the keys. It made for a really smooth check in process which was wonderful.
Really happy with the experience!

The hotel was clean and nice, lobby was relaxing and enjoyable. Friday night singer in the lounge was very nice. The location was next to the park and wonderful. My complaint is with the additional mandatory fee, $38 daily destination fee and then taxes on top of the fee for nothing - just a way to increase the per room night. When I went to the front desk person she said it’s on the website and after checking sure enough it’s buried in there. But here’s the thing, why simply not price accordingly, why not clearly illustrate- we all know as that would allow the consumer to quickly and clearly compare prices….which they do not want. Shame on Park Central, you can do better.
