We stayed in mid February 2 adults 2 children on a double room. To be honest, the hotel is very good for the price you pay, where the hotel is. The room was clean, bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable, heating system worked, hot water worked, and elevators worked (checking on some of the complaints I did read on other comments). I booked before reading the reviews and I was almost cancelling, but since the pattern is that people with negative experiences tend to post more, we kept our reservation. The room was ample for Manhattan on that price range (even with a working desk that we needed!). The gym was good (peloton bikes, rowing machines, treadmills, free weights... Clean and taken care of), there is an option for fast breakfast at the hotel, but PLENTY of amazing coffee shops in 5 minutes, plenty of restaurants of all kinds, Central Park at two blocks, Time Square five minute walk... Again, it is not the Plaza for sure - but for what you pay, it is really good. We would go back there with no problem. And the people at the hotel, really friendly. So... Happy with the choice and cost.

This is a very centrally located hotel and was convenient to the sites and subway. However, that is about where it ends for the benefits of staying in this hotel. We stayed Dec 20-24, and reading the other reviews we had level set expectations. We also acknowledge that we paid a lot less for this hotel than others in the area over the same dates; so we knew going in it wasn’t going to be the best experience. At the end of the day, I would never stay at this hotel again and strongly consider others to think about doing so. I can look past the tattered window shades, etc… but what I think are basic items for a successful stay- the temperature of the room and hot water- are things that did not deliver on this stay. Our room seemed to be in a “heat only” mode- and our room was like a furnace! It was extremely uncomfortable and there was no way to cool the room down- we had the thermostat set at 65, and the heat was constantly on. Also, hot water is a scarcity in this hotel. The elevators are a HUGE issue- sometimes waiting over 30minutes to get on an elevator. Many times we chose to walk down or up to our room on the 18th floor. At the end of the day, it was a good thing that we were out most of the day enjoying the sites; but what is supposed to be a respite from exploring the busy streets, this is not that hotel.

A good hotel which is central to everything, 5 minutes from Central Park and just a few more to reach Times Square and Radio City area. Perfect at Christmas for access to all main sightseeing areas. Lobby is spacious but didn’t spent any time there and it was cheaper to eat out of the hotel. Bathroom was a little worn, door bowed and waterproof seal around sink was loose. Otherwise fine, stayed on level 11. Beds were comfortable but missed having a kettle in the room. Could fit 4 large suitcases and 2 carryons in there comfortably. Recommend for the location and cost was reasonable per person. Starbucks is on the corner, breakfast places and subway station.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Park Central hotel. I must admit after reading some of the reviews about additional charges I was regretting my choice. However, we have no complaints at all. We had our deposit back next day (minus hotel tax charge) can’t ask for more. The hotel itself was ideal, clean, modern and I found both the cleaning staff and the reception staff very helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, minutes from both Times Square and Central Park. The subway is right there for travelling too. The amenities nearby are excellent, stores, Starbucks and food establishments. Very happy with everything and I would certainly recommend to friends and family and will definitely rebook this hotel for my next trip :).

Bottom line up front: Fine place to sleep. Unpleasant to spend any time in otherwise. This place leaves a lot to be desired. There are no coffee machines in the rooms. No water provided, at all. The room carpets are dirty. And lastly, but most impactful, the front desk staff, in particular a man with a tan complexion who was manning the check in at midnight was incredibly rude and dismissive, as if he was evaluating us to determine whether myself and my cousin deserved his respect. I imagine that based on how he behaved towards us that he decided we didn’t. They also don’t have any kind of place to grab breakfast, except for this pre-packaged food store in the lobby. TLDR: this is an okay 6/10 spot to rest your head, but don’t expect it to be pleasant. The only bright spot was the luggage attendants and doormen, who were very respectful and attentive. The front desk staff need serious work, and this hotel needs a huge facelift because it truly is somewhat grimy.
