I came with family to see a show and had a great experience at the beautiful Arlo Midtown. We booked a room with two beds (a "Two Double" with 200 sq feet) for less than US$200 per night. It was nice and clean with a decent view. The bathroom, although understandably cozy, was was clean and had a tasteful modern-rustic look. The large window has a cushioned window-seat and a small metal desk. The beds have charging stations next to them, although one of ours was not working. There are more outlets at the wardrobe which also houses a mini-fridge. There is a safe underneath one of the beds. We had no problem casting our iPhone to the TV. The Arlo has bar, a restaurant, a cafe, and a well-appointed fitness center. I visited the rooftop bar and, although it was empty due to snowy weather, it looked like a venue I'd like to visit again to have a leisurely drink in warmer weather (check it out in my video and pictures). There's some nice seating areas across the front-desk to lazily lounge around on, sip coffee, and eat snacks from the cafe's candy bar as we did. There are meeting rooms which also host public events from time to time. The hotel is walkable to local sites like Times Square, Bryant Park, The Vessel as well as to several theatres like the Lyric. The Port Authority Bus Terminal is only a couple of blocks away. Arlo midtown is a great hotel considering the price, great amenities, proximity to attractions and atmosphere. It's definitely a hotel I'll consider booking in the future.

We recently stayed here for our anniversary trip to NYC. We absolutely loved this hotel. Staff were so welcoming. As soon as you walk in the hotel smells wonderful. I had read on other reviews that elevators were an issue here, but they must have updated them as they were the most convenient elevators I have ever used. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade our room for our anniversary and even left a little treat for us! The rooms are a little small as was expected for New York, but it didn't feel cramped at all, more of a cozy vibe. The bathroom was a good size. We had a city view, and it was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. Great location with a quick walk to theatres, food and time square. I would absolutely book this hotel again next time we are in New York!

Perfect location for the major landmarks, as well as train and bus spots. The lobby itself is well designed and coffee shop is amazing. Highly recommend, we will definitely stay here again! As for the rooms, you will most likely be right outside of an elevator so if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room farthest from one if possible. Our shower also always got water outside of the door onto the floor. Yes we angled the head away, but the door seal just couldn’t keep up, so more towels were used than normal.

Stylish hotel close to Penn Station, theatres, Times Square. Good value for the area. The rooms are small but smart in Eurostyle and the lobby is divided into cozy nooks for conversation. Hardware is black and hues are subdued olive and forest green. Lighting is designed for ambience. The music is contemporary jazz and related hip hop, if rather louder than I prefer. Service from Benjamin was outstanding and enthusiastic. I was happy to give a generous tip, though here is a note: The only improvement would be that the Bill’s guide to tipping should not be based on the after tax, and even if it is, should be calculated correctly—it overstates the tip for each percentage. The highlight for us was the spectacular Tiramisu surrounded by hazelnuts and caramel sauce, topped with a roll of dark chocolate. (See photo and video) We have stayed twice recently with friends, and have made this our go-to hotel for long weekends in the theatre district.

Arlo Midtown is a cool hotel — it’s got a modern vibe, an excellent bar / lounge, and a convenient store to buy snacks / drinks. It’s also super well located, close to everything you could need. Arlo Midtown has a cool elevator system, you simply tap your room card and it tells you want elevator to get in and knows what floor to take you to. In the dozens of elevator rides, we never waited more than 30 seconds for the elevator. The staff are all super friendly, which I value a lot. There are a couple things that they could do to make the guest experience more of an “experience”, though! As an example, they didn’t offer to bring our bags to our room, even after we left our bags with them in storage to explore the city before check in. They do have a bell hop and carts, so I was surprised the bell hop didn’t offer (this would also totally increase his chance of getting tips). The room, although tiny (as expected), was decently laid out, had a massive TV with a super comfortable bed, and was extremely clean. Our only negative experience with the room was that housekeeping didn’t leave us clean towels one of our 4 days and another day, didn’t come until 530PM. They also didn’t leave shower caps or many “extras” in the room, but we called the front desk and got what we needed in less than 5 minutes. Overall, our stay at ARLO was pleasant. It was priced comparatively to other hotels in the area and I don’t have any large complaints.
