The Arlo hotel looks nice and we enjoyed the design. The room was for us a bit disappointing because it was really small, not special and just a standard hotel room. We would have wished for more cute details. The view was right into the windows of another building. Not really private. It was loud, we could hear the neighbours a lot of times and the people waiting for the elevators. The water in cans was a bit strange and also not cool. For the price we paid, it was a bit of a disappointing experience all in all. We expected something more.

Pros: Good location, nice looking hotel Cons: walls are thin (as someone else mentioned), limited amenities, rooftop bar closes early. After some long days of work, I was really hoping to soak in a rooftop view. Bar closes at 10 on weekdays and I never got to see it. No reason for me to stay here again. Staff were nice and location was convenient, so maybe this place is for you instead 🤷‍♂️

If we could, we would rate this hotel a zero. We switched rooms twice due to water leaks and power issues. The room had rust on the carpet, and the shower leaked all over the floor and pit to the carpet. The lights did not work properly and flickered a lot. The outlets and fridge did not work either. The worst part was the housekeeper entering our room despite the "do not disturb" light being on. She refused to leave when we asked her to, asking "when should I come back?" while my husband was naked. The only advantage was that the day time managers were great, except for the night manager, Evan, who tried to prove us wrong and belittle us. He said I argued about facilities during check-in with him, but I'd never seen him before and wasn't there because I was at the ER, Wrong upset guest, Evan. On our last night, we were fed up with no room service and our room had a water leak, soggy walls, and mold just like the last room. Customer service was great until we met, Evan he ruined it. The hotel rooms are falling apart, so stay away. In conclusion, they waived our hotel fees and one night stay, which seems totality unreasonable, as we spent almost every night with engineers in the room and switched rooms twice, and our room wasn't cleaned three times. Let's not forget the hotel cleaner entering our room when we were nude. It ruined our family trip and we will never set foot near this hotel again. I apologize for the disjointed nature of this review, as I am still attempting to process my experience and remain upset. Please do not repeat our mistake and trust the other favorable reviews instead.

Overall we had a positive experience staying at Arlo for the weekend. The location is right near walking distance of Time Square and MSG with plenty of food options around the area. We were a family of 2 kids and although they had a wonderful time, this type of hotel definitely caters more towards young professionals and older people. Rooms are smaller as expected in NYC but good enough for what you need. I'd recommend booking with the breakfast package included as the food was amazing. The customer service was great overall except for the checkout. We had called from our room to request a bellboy to help with our luggage and after waiting for about 15 minutes we ended up doing it ourselves. I could have excused it but as we got to the lobby we were struggling to round our luggage, wrangle two young kids and trying to meet our Uber driver - the lobby team watched it all unfold without offering assistance. Even as I expressed our wait for a bellboy during checkout, the bellboy staff stood there without any worries. I appreciate the front desk expressing their apologies but that experience left a bad taste of their service. Calling out those working the early morning shift as we left the hotel at 7:30am - please work with the staff to do a little better.

The walls are very thin; you’ll hear your neighbors talking as well as anyone walking or making noise in the hallway. We ordered room service through their QR code and 90 minutes and two calls later we still hadn’t received it. We eventually cancelled the order. There was hair in our shower. The rooms are tiny (but that’s NYC). Location is great. Would not recommend. The front desk people were nice. The gym has pelotons and is spacious.
