I recently spent four nights at the Hotel Edison in Times Square, and the experience was everything you hope for when staying right in the pulse of New York City. From the moment I stepped inside, the hotel’s classic Art Deco charm set the tone — stylish, welcoming, and full of character. The location simply can’t be beat. Step outside and you’re instantly surrounded by the energy of Times Square — the lights, the theaters, the endless excitement. Yet inside, the hotel feels surprisingly calm and comfortable, offering a cozy retreat from the city buzz. My room was clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully laid out, with a bed that made it easy to rest after long days of exploring. Housekeeping was consistently attentive, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Whether it was recommendations, directions, or small requests, they handled everything with genuine warmth. The hotel’s amenities were a lovely bonus too — convenient dining options, the lobby, with its gleaming vintage touches, felt like a little slice of old New York glamour. Overall, Hotel Edison offered a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and classic NYC charm. It’s an ideal home base for anyone wanting to be steps away from Broadway, great restaurants, and all the best Midtown has to offer.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Edison Times Square for a long weekend in New York City, and it was the perfect base for exploring the Theater District. Built in 1931 with iconic Art Deco style (Thomas Edison himself flipped the switch at the opening!), the hotel blends vintage charm with modern updates. The Location (10/10): Unbeatable! Just steps from Broadway theaters, Times Square lights, subway stations, and endless restaurants. I walked everywhere – no need for cabs most days. The Room: I had a Signature King room, which felt surprisingly spacious for NYC standards. Comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower, flat-screen TV, and plenty of outlets. It was clean, quiet (despite the central location), and recently renovated with a fresh, stylish vibe.

I will preface this with the understanding that these are very 1st world problems. The location was perfect, right in the middle of times square. The main lobby was beautiful as well. Unfortunately thats where the good stopped with this overpriced trash heap. The desk clerks were not rude, but not hospitable at all (except for 1 very nice lady which Unfortunately didn't get her name). We had breakfast included, but had an extra charge if we wanted the sit down restaurant which was fine, but then you could only get a minimal menu list (Couldnt even get the pancakes that they are apparently famous for). There was also over an hour wait for hotel guests to be seated. All of this could have been avoided if they advertised this from the beginning. They dont explain it on the websites, and the staff told us nothing other than it was a little extra for the sit down restaurant. Our room would not get over 69⁰ which was eventually fixed after a few hours. The room was extremely small and was very out of date. Literally just a bed squezed in a corner, and a bathroom. Carpet was ripping up. Water pressure was horrible, and the "view" was the side of another building (which ok its the city), but for $900+ per night I expect a hell of a lot more. Had I not known any better I would have thought we were at an econolodge or red roof inn. Strongly recommend checking out a different hotel.

Rooms are nice and tidy, with cleaning daily. Perfect location to visit the shows on Broadway and Times Square. Staff was incredible! We felt very safe with an abundance of security and the doorman. The restaurants on site were fantastic, with delicious offerings day and night. Best place to stay for the location!

A great place to stay if you want a nice bed /shower & be in the center of theater district & Time Square. I previously stayed near Central Park. The vibe here is very different. I was very surprised how busy & “Vegas” like the area was. It’s changed a lot. So many people. All & all nice staff. Old but clean. Felt safe walking near hotel late at night. Loved the remodeled bathroom. Very nice shower. No tub in our room. Wish the room lightening was different in room. The hotel kept our luggage all day for a cheap price since we couldn’t check in till 3 pm. We stayed out till 11 pm. Our flight left early so we couldn’t enjoy the free breakfast. I booked this hotel an hour before walking in the door. It was booked through a popular Hotel app. I asked for accommodations for 2 adults & 2 kids. The manager surprised us with an upgrade & the room was a suite with 3 large beds on 12th floor. All & all I gambled on this deal & I won big! I can imagine NYE here would be amazing & crazy. :)
