The service was great, we had Maria at the front desk that went above and beyond for us and took the time to talk with us instead of rushing us through. She deserves some kudos! The rooms are small and very plain, very low budget with no amenities but on the other hand has the necessities. Room was clean. This is in the heart of Times Square with lights, sirens, people and noise right outside the window all day and night. For some that’s exactly what they want, for me, I would sleep somewhere else and take a subway into Times Square instead.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT! My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and EVERY single day they charged us $400 for a “smoking fee”, even though we have NEVER smoked in our lives. Not cigarettes, not vapes, nothing! To make it worse, the charges were made in the middle of the night (3–5 AM) while we were asleep. When we complained at the front desk, their response was absurd: they said they “can’t do anything” and that it’s on us to deal with it. In other words, they know it makes no sense but keep charging anyway. We don’t smoke at the hotel or anywhere else — we are simply not smokers. Yet we were charged every single day as if we had been smoking in the room. This is not a mistake, this is a SCAM! A scheme designed to rip money off guests. If you value your money and your dignity, stay far away from this place! And after going through this, we found out that they do the exact same thing to many other guests!

I stayed here in July mainly for the location, which is excellent—right next to Serendipity Bar, though the hotel sign is easy to miss. The room was very small with low water pressure, and there was no view, but it was quiet. Check-in staff was rude, but other employees, especially at checkout and luggage storage, were much friendlier. Overall, I’d only recommend this place for the location—everything else is pretty basic.

I had a horrible experience at this hotel. I am a Christian and I have never smoked in my entire life—not cigarettes, not e-cigarettes, not anything at all. Yet, I was charged over $1,000 in smoking fees, which is absolutely false and deeply offensive. When I saw the charge on my statement, I immediately went to the front desk to ask what it was about. They told me that the room device supposedly detected smoking at 3:49 AM and again at 5:00 AM, which is ridiculous. I never smoked and would never do such a thing. They told me I had to speak with a manager, but every time I went to the front desk during my three-day stay, there was never a manager present. That is extremely suspicious—how can a hotel operate without a manager on duty at all times? Later, I started reading online reviews and discovered that this seems to be a common scam at this hotel, where they fraudulently charge guests for smoking fees. I feel extremely offended, scammed, and disappointed. I will never stay here again and I strongly warn others to avoid this hotel.

Maria was very welcoming & friendly. She made us feel like family at the very start. She gave us recommendations that were great. The hotel is very nice from the lobby but very basic in the room. Great place for saving money but not for comfort.
