Disgusting Room, Poor Experience
We chose this hotel because it’s pet-friendly, and we were traveling with our newly adopted dog. I saw reviews mentioning tiled floors in the pet-friendly rooms, which seemed great. Sadly, the stay was awful.
We arrived in town for a concert and checked in later in the evening. While the staff gave us a ground-floor room, parking was a nightmare. It looked like everyone staying at the hotel was on our side, and a high school homecoming dance was happening, making it impossible to leave when we needed to.
Once we got to the room, it was filthy. Stains were all over the floor, blood on the curtains, and dirt everywhere. It hadn’t been cleaned, at least not well. We didn’t have time to ask for another room because we had to get ready quickly - we didn’t even feel comfortable taking off our socks or showering. After the concert, I wanted to leave and drive the 3.5 hours home, but it was already midnight.
I understand it’s a “pet-friendly” hotel, but that doesn’t mean it should be so dirty. No one should have to pay to sleep in this sort of filth. Our dog is well-behaved, but it seems like no one else’s is. I asked for a refund, but the hotel refused, so I’ve disputed the charge with my bank. It was certainly not “as advertised.”
I would never stay here again and don’t recommend it if you care about cleanliness.

First, I’d like to start with saying that all of the staff were very friendly, helpful, and responsive. I had no negative experiences with them. Additionally, the amenities are good and I liked that there was room service, pools, several restaurants, a sundry shop, and good conference spaces.
However, my experiences with the rooms were less than ideal. My first room had a broken lamp and TV and then began leaking a significant amount of water from the windows when it rained. They quickly moved me to a new room, which I appreciated. My new room was much nicer, however the phone didn’t work. For reference, I stayed in “the tower.”
While the experience in my second room was comfortable, this hotel does need room improvements.

Stayed here for a convention that was in town. Being a Hilton guy, this was close to the convention and offered what I was looking for. I booked a king room but ended up with 2 queens, fine. I thought I was staying in a hotel, but this was actually "villa's". Its set-up like an old motel, 2 floors with outside doors for everyone. Rooms are in need of updating. Refrigerator did not work, just kept making clicking noises, toilet would have to be flushed several times jut to get it down the drain, whole in the bottom of the outside door that any critter could walk through, drapes stapled to one side of the wall, paper thin walls, wicked smelling sulphur water, and I could go on. The plus side is the room was clean, staff was friendly, and the location was right. There are certainly better hotels in the area for the same money, so maybe skip this one.

My husband and I stayed here for a night whilst celebrating our anniversary at Universal Studios and we had an AMAZING experience. The staff and guest manager, Marisa Ramos, really made our night. We had originally booked just a standard room as we would only spend one night there. The Doubletree team surprised us with a room upgrade to the King Suite! Upon entering our room, there were red heart balloons with a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a handwritten card wishing us an “Happy Anniversary” and some rose petals on the bed. We were absolutely in awe as we did not expect it. We also got free breakfasts at the breakfast buffet. Thank you so much and we would definitely 100% come back in the future and recommend our friends and family to do so!

Our experience left a lot to be desired. We stayed in the tower and we were supposed to have adjoining rooms. Upon arriving at 5:00 pm (we requested check-in at 4pm), only one of our rooms was ready and it smelled of mildew and was dirty. The front desk asked for the connecting room to be cleaned, but by 5:30pm, no one had started on the room, so we reached back out to the desk. They tried moving us to another room that had 2 queen beds instead of the king that we had booked and keeping us in the room that smelled of mildew as well after I explained we needed connecting rooms for our children. Eventually, by 6pm, we were in a new room that did not connect, but were side by side (not ideal, but we made it work). The manager said she would take care of the parking fee for the inconvenience and gave us an ice cream pass for our child.
The front desk staff also informed us that since we were diamond members, we had $30 of food and beverage credit per day to use at any of the hotel restaurants.
Fast forward to checkout, the parking was still on our room receipt and none of the food was comped off for the credit. When I asked about it, the front desk staff assisting us gave an attitude and said it doesn’t work like that and basically told us oh well. She did not seek clarification from anyone. We are very displeased with our stay and the quality of the customer service we received at check out. Unfortunately, a free ice cream doesn’t make up for a dirty room that smells of mildew and an extended wait to check in.
Additionally, the floors in our room were so dirty that our child’s feet are covered in a layer of black after walking around for just 20 minutes. The lack of cleanliness is unacceptable.
