Staff was friendly but their key system was down when we got there. Had to come back later and wait in line again to get our key card activated. Only 1 person working the desk and a line. Room was meh. Small beds, funky smell, we booked for 3 nights and only stayed for 2. We developed sore throats and noticed we had a dry cough that was worse in the hotel room so we headed out instead of pushing another night. Security at the gate is nice and all. But definitely think the rooms need updated and checked for mold.

I was very happy with this room, staff, location, price, etc! At other hotels this rating, you'd expect to see a missing bulb, a wall repair, a scratched piece of furniture or a missing amenity. Not the Rosen Inn. It checked off every box. Good cable, working fridge, plenty of clean towels, comfortable beds and pillows, convenient plugs for all electronics. Furniture was up to date. The pool was beautiful and the large property had many convenient vending machines not to mention the store in the lobby area that had everything! The property was gated and seemed safe to me. If I had one thing that got my attention was people outside talking late night, but it was a weekend and I was on the bottom with a parking area near my door. I could have asked for an upper floor but it was no big deal. One other thing. The toilet in 1355 flushes slowly. It's works. Just takes a few trys. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. It was a price too.

BLUF: You get what you pay for, a cheap option to stay near the Universal Parks For the price, this hotel served its purpose. The bed was relatively soft, but the pillows were 3 small squares. The room and property look outdated. The light switch in the bathroom was dripping water during a storm. Our room also had a weird quirk where you had to scan your room key to get the door to close from the outside. It is very close to all of the Universal parks, and rideshare to/from the parks was typically under $10. My main criticism lies in the shuttle service. In hindsight, I should’ve looked into this more, but a cursory search led me to believe we’d be safe booking this hotel and have transportation covered. Of the 6 trips to or from Universal, we were only able to use the shuttle once. Having stayed at a Universal Resort in the past, this shuttle service pales in comparison. It has fixed run times, some of which don’t appear to consider the park hours (Epic is open for an hour and a half after the last return shuttle). What was most frustrating was the lack of information by the staff regarding the shuttles. During our last evening, we were finally able to use the shuttle and arrived 10 minutes before the shuttle time in the pouring rain. I did not see the shuttle, so I called the hotel, and the clerk could not tell me the location of the shuttle pickup, only that they should be there on time and in the shuttle area. For future guests, pickup was behind the escalator down to the shuttle area (during our visit anyway), not with the other shuttles. This simple piece of information could have saved us an hour of frustration in a storm, contemplating paying 3x the usual rate for a rideshare.

Update: room had bed bugs, the smoke detector wasn't replaced by the time we left (took it our Friday night, we left Sunday morning), and the free wifi didn't work 90% of the time we were there. Will never stay here or recommend this place, no matter how well priced or close to Epic it is. Upon check in our room keys "worked" but the door lock was jammed shut. Called phone number associated with hotel, they said they would send security immediately to open it. Security never came. Had to flag down housekeeping after waiting 45 minutes who thankfully forced the door open by throwing their whole body against it to unjam it. Due to this we also missed our dinner reservations in Disney Springs. Room was very musty upon entering and also found out there was moldy week-old food left in the refrigerator. Shower pressure is very week and the steam from the shower also sets off the smoke alarm, so now having to deal with chirping noises for the next hour when we just want to sleep. It then stopped for about 30 minutes and then started chirping again (even with no steam in the room, ended up being faulty and was told it would be replaced the next day). Had to call front desk at 1030 at night to send engineering to fix it. Like I said, never recommending or staying at this place again! And if you're forced to stay here, stay away from room 1245!

We stayed here for 3weeks in September. The room was spacious and very clean. It was cleaned every day and fresh towels supplied. Big shout out to the cleaning staff! There is a bar and a shop in the reception area. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Great location for bars and restaurants. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I would suggest upper floors.
