Recently stayed here for a seminar. It's an older hotel but the great features of the rooms outweighs the minimal decor/charm. Lots of closet space, drawers, a real minifridge that was actually *cold*!! The bathroom had a storage area behind the door with stacks of towels and extra TP, Kleenix, and other amenities. As a result there was nice spacious to the shower & vanity area. Only a single sink but tons of counter space on both sides. All the people working there were very nice and helpful. Located close to restaurants, shopping and Disney.

Beautiful hotel! Front desk and concierge staff were incredible! Rooms were great size and clean! Conference area was set up very nicely and perfect for our event (attendee perspective). Only downfalls: pool was too cold, for everyone we chatted with. American Grill staff was mediocre at best. At worst-literally ignored us for 10+ minutes when trying to place a pick-up order. Finally a server from across the bar came to help-he was great.

We had a great stay over New Years. This is THE place to stay if you are visiting Universal, but you want to save a few bucks from staying on the theme park property. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the park entrance and there is a pedestrian bridge that goes over the highway, so it was very safe. They also have a Universal desk and they helped us print our park tickets and book a bus to Epic. If you are going to Epic, you need to make a reservation for the bus the day before you plan to go (and best to do it in the morning before you leave). The onsite restaurants are expensive and we didn’t eat at them. If you want to get breakfast before going to the parks, I would recommend door dashing chick fil a or something. Our room was very comfortable. I have chronic back issues, but slept great in the bed. There were issues with the elevator during our stay and we were on the 15th floor, but that was the only issue. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here the next time I go to Universal.

** theme parks: the location is great for visiting universal or islands of adventure etc. it’s just a short walk (and a pleasant one) ** rooms: average I would say. What we didn’t like: we turned off the AC during the day, and every day the AC was turned on again from the cleaning staff at a freezing 17 degrees Celsius. With no option to ventilate the room. Big minus Point. And: the fridge freezes our drinks and food because it’s set so cold. In the bathrooms the sinks are a bit disgusting (mold if you look closer), the hair dryer hasn’t been cleaned in ages. ** pool: the pools are nice, however the spa pool / whirlpool is set for over 40 degrees Celsius (111 Fahrenheit ) , my Apple Watch measured it. That means that you can not comfortably sit in the pool. We went there a couple of nights in a row and everyone was complaining about it and sitting outside the pool because it was too hot. ** breakfast: not so huge but you have waffles and can chose your omelets with toppings. Great service there.

We had a good overall stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando. Our original room had a noticeable mildewy smell, but the staff handled the situation very professionally and kindly by moving us to a different room without any issues. The hotel itself is older, but it’s still well maintained and comfortable. The location is very convenient for visiting Universal. A solid option if you’re looking for a convenient and reasonably comfortable place to stay near the parks.
