We all loved this place, but from a money perspective and from an amenities perspective and from a service perspective, it was not particularly special. It was really nice, nothing wrong with that, but what distinguishes it from other hotels that would justify the price tag? I don't know. The service was not really present. We didn't need much but we never really saw anyone, no one went out of their way to see that we had everything we needed. BUT, never unpleasant when I had questions. The amenities in the room like coffee, toiletries, no better or worse than at any hotel that provides you with 2 coffee pods and tiny bottles of lotion. The view looked DIRECTLY out onto the new constructions BUT we also had a direct view to the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our room, so, six in one hand, half dozen in the other. I do think this place distinguishes itself in the entertainment department, between great restaurants (which have their own pages to review, in fairness, I can't really use the restaurants to help the review of the hotel BUT, accessibility to said restaurants, yes, that helps), movies on the lawn, the awesome pool, the beach, the live entertainment, and various other paid services, there is always something to do and see. It's also beautiful to look at. I forgot to take pictures of the room but the rooms are accurately represented by other reviews: they're a room with two beds and a bathroom, the end. We only needed to sleep there but again, I was kind of shocked at how minimal they were for a 4-star hotel as expensive as this place is. OK, so I sound like a curmudgeon and I am sure it was just sticker shock. We all had a perfectly adequate time, and I would 100% stay again - much better to be on a Disney resort and be able to get anywhere Disney for free really easily - but I'll complain about the price and the size of the rooms till the day I die.

Best resort in WDW… great pool features for the kids, great nighttime ambiance, good food, friendly service that quickly attended to, and understood- a situation that necessitated us leaving four days earlier than we had initially intended, and… DOLE WHIPS ON SITE at Pineapple Lanai!!! Was here as a kid with my parents, and brought my own to kids here last year for the first time… Had so much fun that we came again this year, and wish we could afford to come back every year!! Which leads to my only real negative… The price… It really has become quite prohibitive for most families. Our 15 day vacation here will end up costing us a bit over $15K… which, simply because of how much our kids love it, I’m willing to deal with… but it really is just too much money. So… we’ll wait several years before coming back, but we will be back!

The Polynesian is a wonderful resort to stay at, both beautiful and convenient. It's in a great location with easy access to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. If you need a scooter, the easy access to both parks via the monorail is wonderful. However, the elevators in the buildings are very small, so if you are using a scooter, request a first floor room. Not all scooters will fit in the elevator. The pools are all nice and watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach is amazing. The two restaurants in the resort are really good, as is the counter service location. I would highly recommend giving this resort a try.

The staff were wonderful. The location for Magic Kingdom is hard to beat. However the rooms themselves, are ok. Beds are ok, towels fantastic… and the towels were the best part of the room.
The hotel walls are thin. The floors are thin. The sound echoes down the halls. All night doors opening and closing.
The pool and splash area is really nice, but too small for the amount of people who are there. We were able to find beach chairs each time we went… but the pool itself was crowded most of the day. The Oasis Pool (Quiet Pool) had more room, but is quiet so not a great place for kid overflow.
We debated staying club level. However when we contacted Disney Signature services to see if they can make accommodations for one of our guests who only eats fries, bread and white rice, the response was a generic, “We can make the request, but not guaranteed.” When paying a premium for Club Level, at the very least a “Let us check with the kitchen and get back to you,” would be appreciated. Disney stream lining operations and centralizing customer service seems to be eliminating the personalized service that was once synonymous with the Disney name.

You can never say enough nice things about this resort. This was our first time not staying in the Tonga suites at this location, due to our last minute trip. I was super impressed by the standard rooms, and would gladly stay there again. Super nice and ALWAYS worth the premium prices. Location, location, location!
