Stayed here a year ago. Amazing location close to MK. Pool is nothing special. Theming is subtle and less crowded that other luxury resorts. My parents loved this hotel because it was a bit more quiet and "less busy" than the Polynesian for example. Steakhouse 71 is really good, especially for breakfast. Perfect location if you want to be within walking or a monorail ride from Magic Kingdom. Rooms appear to be fairly recently updated. However the noise from the restaurant and slight vibrations from the monorail going through the building can be a bit annoying in my opinion. Staff was wonderful and all received tips, minus the rudest bell service (I think he was even a manager) person ever. He was disrespectful to my young adult kids first off, then I thought I would just go to him myself thinking maybe him being approached by younger people may have made him feel some kinda way... nope rude to me and blatantly ignored my questions regarding our luggage being picked up. When our limo arrived at departure, he was too busy talking to his coworkers about text messages that I finally went to get our luggage myself. He then rushed over to take over. After loading our things he began badgering not only me, but my family for a tip! When we refused because of his behavior, he then went to our driver and began talking about us negatively to him wishing him "good luck with 'these' people". I was in disbelief of this man's behavior. Other than him, our room cleaners were phenomenal and so kind, the employees in the shops were lovely and engaging and are everything we expect when we stay at Disney properties. Unfortunately, because of that bell hop, and the noise level we will stay at another resort in our coming visits.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers a unique stay defined by its iconic A-frame architecture and unparalleled proximity to Magic Kingdom. As the only resort where the monorail passes directly through the main building, it provides a high level of convenience for transportation. It is also the only hotel within a short, ten-minute walking distance of the Magic Kingdom entrance, which is a significant advantage for those wanting to avoid bus or boat lines. The guest rooms were recently updated with an "Incredibles" theme, featuring mid-century modern furniture and subtle superhero accents. These rooms are among the largest standard accommodations on Disney property, often including two queen beds and a daybed. While the main tower rooms offer balconies with views of either Bay Lake or the Magic Kingdom fireworks, the Garden Wing rooms provide a more budget-friendly entry point, though they lack balconies and require a longer walk to the main building. Dining is a major highlight of the resort. Options range from the lively character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s to the upscale California Grill on the top floor, which offers panoramic views of the park. Steakhouse 71 has also become a popular choice for its high-quality menu at a more accessible price point. The main drawback is the atmosphere, which can feel busy and loud due to the open-air concourse and the constant movement of the monorail and crowds. Additionally, the pool area is relatively simple compared to the themed water features found at other deluxe resorts like the Polynesian or Beach Club. For guests who prioritize ease of access to Magic Kingdom and modern amenities, the Contemporary should be a top choice.

Since this is a deluxe Disney resort, guests get a two hour extended evening benefit when staying there. There are buses to the other Disney resorts and Disney parks. The monorail goes right through the resort - very convenient! Or if you want to walk, it’s only about a 10 minute walk to Magic Kingdom. Our room had a nice view and was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again, but would make sure that it was a two queen bed room. I stayed there with my son who is 5’10”. The room they gave us was a king bed room with a small sofabed. The sofabed was too small for him, so I let him have the King bed. The sofabed was not super comfortable to sleep on as it was too short for me and I’m only 5’4”.

We loved our stay at the Contemporary Hotel. Room was spacious and well suited to 3 Adults. We loved the access to the monorail and whilst busy at times we never waited long. You just need to remember that it is the last stop. We ended up walking to Magic Kingdom as this was much quicker. The quick room check-in through the app is great, but we may have missed some welcome information especially as this was our first visit. It was fantastic to be able to checkout on the app. We loved the luggage transfer between Disney hotels but would have been better if the automatically sent your bag to your room. Facilities are fantastic. We would absolutely stay here again.
