Very friendly staff and a great location. Good breakfast. Impressed by the manager, who asked every guest about their wellbeing. Very clean rooms with an absolutely great view over the city skyline. Rooftopbar and cocktail room are also very recommendable. But we advise to make a reservation. We have been in many hotels around the world, but this one was the absolutely best. For our next time in New York there is only one place for our stay - the Civilian!

If you want a real NYC experience you should book this hotel. Beautiful old-style hotel, with an amazing staff. After a long day of exploring the city, you'll have a lot of things to do in the hotel. High-quality restaurant, cocktail room with live music and the best part rooftop bar with a DJ. Times Square is a 5-minute walk which makes staying experience even more impressive. Do not hesitate, just book this one. It's once in a lifetime experience.

FABULOUS stay! This hotel is gorgeous, the room was spacious with an great view, especially at sunset, which you have to catch at the rooftop bar. The happy hour cocktails were also delicious. Great location too, we walked to the park easily and it's near a subway line. Being in the travel industry I can highly recommend this hotel as great value in New York with a great vibe, service and design.

We stayed at the Civilian at the end of April to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was perfect! Location was great, our room was clean (albeit small), we felt safe, and the water refill station on our floor was an added bonus! Would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan on seeing a show or are interested in walking to great restaurants and iconic NYC spots!

Such a nice hotel in the middle of Manhattan, I really love it! Attractive and special interior, clean and great view. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea can be collected free in the restaurant downstairs in the morning. I'd recommend it to everyone!
