Having visited this resort 9 times now, you could say I must enjoy it! The beach is amazing with white sand and clear water, very little seaweed and not prone to regular sargassum issues. It’s a large resort with a family side (the Palace) and the adult side (smaller & quieter). The al a carte options are great especially if you upgrade to the Premium package which gives u access to three additional dining venues! Did I mention rack of lamb, beef Wellington, or chateau briand(?)! Buffets are great and offer the usual but include many local dish options to try as well. Fresh seafood, omelette stations, and pizza and pasta made to order, you won’t go hungry or get tired of the variety! Many rooms have awesome ocean views and easy access to the beach and pool areas! Some are dated and need upkeep but not much of a concern. Lots of places to have a quiet nap or indulge in daily entertainment and activities, you choose. Also what draws me back is the convenience of the golf course, it’s a Pete Dye design and you can store your clubs and never worry about them until u play another round. Service is great, all staff do what they can to make your stay comfortable. Yes language can be a barrier, rarely, but I found the majority of staff speak English. Do yourself a favour and learn a few Spanish words, it goes a long way as does a small tip! Best bartenders are John and Rona in the upper level lobby bar (Caribe bar) they work hard to deliver great friendly service! Can’t wait to go back to the Barcelo!

We recently(10.24.25-10.27.25) enjoyed a four-day, three-night weekend retreat to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. The service and location were truly exceptional. Our accommodations featured a private pool, which was a spectacular amenity. The hotel staff consistently provided outstanding service. We would like to extend a special commendation to Catherine, who assisted us from check-in, arranged for a chef to prepare a special meal for my husband, and scheduled a truly remarkable couples massage experience. The all-inclusive package contributed to an amazing overall experience.

Traveled solo elderly lady. The room was spacious the bathroom was dangerous with at least 2 feet to step into the tub and shower combo. The hotel has 6 unites that are handicap only. The food was mediocre. Pretty much the same thing at the buffet everyday with a few changes. The location was nice as far as the view. Pool was nice but gets crowded early. Night entertainment was EXTREMLEY loud and woke me up several nights even though me room was no where near the entertainment. With every business good and bad employees, but overall most were pleasant. The guest relations was a10#

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I came here for my 26th birthday and it was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. The food was amazing with so many options, including vegan choices, and the drinks were just as great. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful anytime I had a question, they never hesitated to assist. Our rooms were cleaned daily, and the entire resort was well kept. What I really appreciated was the guest services area where you can book excursions right on-site. It made planning activities so easy and affordable without having to leave the resort to search for options. From start to finish, the service, food, and overall experience were excellent. I truly loved my visit and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

We had the best time here! Everything was perfect: accommodations, activities, food, drinks, but the best was the customer service. Shout out to Luis, the entertainment leader, who had great energy, always had a smile on his face, and gave the best service every single time!
