We recently returned from our first all-inclusive vacation at Bahia Principe, and overall, it was a good experience. I’d rate it a 7 out of 10. The highlights of the trip were definitely the amazing service and great food. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food quality and variety were impressive. Most of the meals leaned toward international cuisine, which we enjoyed, but we would have loved to see more local dishes available as well. The bar service was solid, but one thing we missed was having drink menus—most of the time, we just ordered the usual since there were no posted options or suggestions. A few things to note for future guests: • The rooms were very outdated, and the resort overall could really use some updates and renovations. • Most staff only spoke Spanish, which made communication difficult at times. Similarly, most of the activities were in Spanish, which made it hard to participate fully if you only speak English. While we understand the guest base is largely Spanish-speaking, having more bilingual staff or activity options would help everyone feel more included. • The timeshare sales pitch was a bit of a downside. It felt like we were constantly being upsold on timeshare plans or property plots, which became a bit annoying during a trip meant for relaxation. All in all, we had a good time thanks to the service and food, but with some updates and a few adjustments, this resort could be even better.

The hotel is lovely, the food great and the restaurant staff are very attentive, welcoming you with a smile. The restaurant is very clean and well supplied with a very large variety of food available. The themed restaurants are a lovely experience, to a very high standard. The entertainment team are lively and engaging. Although sometimes it is difficult to understand when they are speaking in English due to accent and the speed of the words. Pablo Gomez the team leader is great and looks like he inspires his team. Mariano is great fun and Alfredo is an excellent fitness instructor. They have plenty of activities for adults. The bar staff, in the most part are friendly, although we did experience that sometimes the Spanish speaking guests are served first. We raised this with customer services. The music playing at the pool is predominantly Spanish, however I would like it to be a mix of English spoken as well. We went to the night club for 15 Mins and left after listening to Spanish music only. We noticed that others did the same. When we have previously gone to resort night clubs they play a mix of popular music in English and regional music and people stay and enjoy this. The cleanliness of all areas of the resort is excellent and the grounds are well managed.

It's a beautiful resort. Mostly clean. Staff is friendly. Beautiful beach. However, there were issues, and I would not have gone if I knew. Context: Trip timeline was April 28 to May 5. Details: Expedia: I would never book a trip via Expedia again. Everything was extra, even though it was supposed to be all inclusive. Also, the communication leading up to the trip was.poor. Transportation: It wasn't included, and it was expensive. Communication was again unclear. Website wasn't user friendly. We didn't know where to meet our driver. There was no signage at the airport. It took us 15 min to find our driver. The hotel outsourced it to another company, with no communication. And the drive to the hotel was long, 1.5 hours away. Staff: Check-in was seamless. Staff were friendly and responsive. Sadly, no other employee speaks English very well. I used Google translate with minimum success because many staff also don't read Spanish. This made communicating with the staff challenging. Room: The room was beautiful and large, with a King size bed and living room area. There was also a large closet with a room safe. However, it was not cleaned well. We would find hair or other things. First day, we found an eating on the floor. The bathroom was airy with a double sink, which was a bonus. However, there are definitely signs of wear and tear. Also, the water pressure is poor. Food: Plantiful but mandane and repetitive. The food signage wasn't always placed correctly, and if you had questions, answers were confusing. The best part of the buffet was the fruit. We tried one a la carte restaurant, and we cancelled the rest. There was no option for dietary restrictions. Entertainment: Friendly staff. They tried to create engagement, but not successfully. The shows were okay. Beach: Clean, but it has a lot of seaweed and jellyfish. Many patrons were stung. Insects: Plantiful. We all left with numerous bites. Overall, it was a good break. But not worth the price we paid. Hotel is 3.5 stars at best. I would not recommend it.

The rooms are adorable and very spacious and clean. Most of the staff is friendly but they are human and not everyone is...the location does not give the best beach views (river feeds into it so not that carribean blue you might expect) and is further away from excursions it seems...the food is amazing (the best I have had at an all-inclusive) and the resort is a 8/10. My biggest complaint is the smoke everywhere....it is terrible...for that reason alone I will not be back...you literally can't avoid it and I'm allergic and have kids with asthma...they really should have smoking sections that can be avoided by non-smokers...since this is advertised as a family resort

Three of us stayed in April 2025. The overall resort grounds are beautiful—well-maintained, clean, and inviting. The pool area was a highlight, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas available at all times. The beach itself is gorgeous, but unfortunately, the water wasn’t very clean and there were jellyfish present during our stay, so we chose not to swim. The rooms could use some updating. Our shower didn’t work very well, and the hot water was inconsistent. We also experienced a few minor issues like the air conditioning acting up and a burnt-out lightbulb. One night, there were a few brief power outages, but they resolved quickly. The room had a noticeable odor when we first arrived, though it did fade after a while. Food options were solid overall. The buffet consistently had something enjoyable, and all three à la carte restaurants were excellent—we really enjoyed our meals there. Drinks were just okay. I’ve had better, and the frozen drinks in particular were often not very frozen. That said, the selection was decent, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. Service throughout the resort was fantastic for the most part. The staff clearly work hard to keep guests happy. While we did come across the occasional staff member who seemed to be having an off day, the majority were excellent. Daytime entertainment was decent, though it could be improved. Evening entertainment was pretty limited—surprisingly, the theater was never used. However, we did enjoy the circus show at Bahia Village and the beach party/fire show, both of which were fun. Overall, this is a quiet, family-friendly resort. We had a very relaxing and pleasant getaway.
