Renovation announcements for Grand Palladium Bávaro Resort & Spa

Due to renovation works in Grand Palladium Bávaro Resort & Spa from April 1st to December 14th, 2025, some facilities will be closed during this period. The facilities that will be renovated during this period are:

  • La Lola restaurant
  • Bamboo restaurant
  • La Catedral restaurant
  • La Adelita Restaurant
  • La Paisana Restaurant
  • Pools and bars located in Grand Palladium Bávaro

Pools and bars located in Grand Palladium Bávaro. In addition, starting March 31th, the Xtra Time service will be temporarily relocated to the Hemingway cocktail bar area until the reopening of Grand Palladium Select Bávaro. Last of all, the Junior Club will be temporarily relocated to the Kids' Club area.

During this period, Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino will continue operating to provide services and offer alternatives to the areas under renovation.

From December 14th, 2025, Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino will offer different services and facilities until now. Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino will continue offering its current facilities and will keep sharing the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa facilities. However, guests staying at Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino, won't be able to access to Grand Palladium Select Bávaro and Family Selection at Grand Palladium Select Bávaro facilities.

The facilities no longer available will be:

  • Lobbies, bars, shops and pools located at Grand Palladium Select Bávaro and Family Selection at Grand Palladium Select Bávaro
  • La Lola Restaurant
  • Bamboo Restaurant
  • La Catedral Restaurant

I mich preferred the Riviera Maya experience with Grand Palladium. As a travel club member I felt the experience in Mexico was better. In Punta Cana being a travel club member really didn't feel special at all. Although a la carte every night is nice and CHIC was amazing as always, the rest of the experience was unfortunately not as good as in Mexico. There was one employee who didn't even smile when taking my reservations for dinner, she literally looked like she was wanting to be elsewhere.. so, while the vacation was nice, I did not feel like it made me want to go back. Mexico on the other hand I have been 2 times and definitely would go back. Beach however was beautiful... but far too many annoying vendors. There needs to be more prevntion from having vendors walk in and around the lounging areas of the beach... we couldn't read or relax on the beach as we were constantly being disturbed by vendors. So we stopped going to the beach and stayed around the pools. That was very disappointing. Overall 4 stars because it is Grand Palladium, as such food and standards on the grounds are very nice. But I am starting to wonder about other hotel chains.

I recently had a frustrating experience at this poorly run hotel. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this establishment desperately needs a serious management overhaul. The resort is poorly run and desperately needs remodeling. Its bad layout means that many rooms face a service road where cars, buses, and motorcycles run all day. You also have to walk constantly looking for cars because of the ridiculous layout and no sidewalks. The check-in process was long, and rooms were not ready by the promised time. I later understood why—because we constantly saw staff sitting around on their phones. Firstly, there was only very hot water in the sink; the cold water ran only for 5 seconds, and we would burn ourselves on it. The bathtub entrance was awkward, making it a struggle for both elderly guests and children. This lack of accessibility is unacceptable for a place that claims to be family-friendly. Adding to the discomfort was the restroom situation—both the wall and door were see-through, which felt incredibly invasive. Privacy is a basic expectation in any hotel stay, and this setup was simply unacceptable. The air conditioning unit had a persistent sewage smell that permeated our entire room, adding to our overall discomfort. Unfortunately, this unpleasant odor wasn’t confined to our room; it was pervasive throughout the resort. The waitress service was painfully slow. We waited an eternity for drinks at the buffets and restaurants, and that was just the beginning of our experiences with the unenthusiastic and unfriendly staff. Hospitality should involve a welcoming demeanor, but here, it was sorely lacking. Other issues included a broken hair dryer, which is a minor inconvenience, but still an example of the neglect visible throughout the property. We were startled by a hatch in the bathtub that unexpectedly opened, and we even encountered cockroaches in our room—definitely not a pleasant surprise! The beach area was equally disappointing. The seats were broken and stained, and there was a distinct lack of shade, making it uncomfortable to enjoy the sun. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. There are far better options available that will offer a more pleasant experience. Save your time and money for a place that truly values its guests.

Our experience here has been wonderful. We have come here for the past two years. We had an exceptional butler both years, Manuel Rivera, who took such good care of us and made sure our visit there was everything we could hope for. The resort is beautifully landscaped and has several swimming pools. There are plenty of amenities, excursions, and restaurants to choose from.

So as for an overall experience, we had a great time! The staff at TRS Turquesa was EXCELLENT! Our butler Edward, was phenomenal.. he was very attentive and made sure our needs were addressed. Dolores the bartender/waitress we had by the pool was also spectacular.. highly, highly recommend. The food was for the most part amazing but we had the WORST experience at El Dorado.. not only was the service TERRIBLE, but the food was not that great either. Our waiter, Pedro was terrible. Our food came out cold, parts of our order was missing, we never got refills, not even on water.. then when he took our order for desserts.. there were 4 people at the table, he took the order for 2 of us and then at least 10 mins later came back to ask the other 2 what they wanted but the first 2 never got their dessert. We ended up leaving before even getting dessert. Very disappointing and extremely frustrating.

He was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. His attention to detail and genuine care made a huge difference in my experience. The whole team was warm and welcoming, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere throughout my stay. Thank you, Kenny, and the rest of the staff for making my vacation so memorable—I’ll definitely be coming back!
