Horrible experience. We went there in Dec 2025 after their renovation. The decor and design of this resort is very nice. It is also very big with too many pools especially for kids. But the rest is horrible. The safe in our room didn't work and was replaced after 2 days. The jacuzzi in the bedroom had no cover for the suction hole so it sucked my little baby in caused some injuries and marks on her skin. Worst of all, we upgraded our room to a family suite ocean view, but that was not ocean view. It was garden view and they did nothing after many complaints. Restaurants in the resort are mostly bad. Never order steak. Tough and badly coocked. I could barely find something to eat in the buffet, mostly recycled food from days ago with little variety. The beach is ok staff are super nice and friendly but management is horrible. Compared to other resorts I have been especially Punta Cana, the entertainment was below mediocre. Overall, it's not worth it at all.

A big thank you to Sergia and Deysi – they were absolutely wonderful with the kids • They made the kids feel happy, safe, and excited, full of fun activities, games, and laughter every day • Our kids enjoyed the Kids Club so much that they didn’t want to leave 😊 • Rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable • Food was delicious with great variety for both adults and kids • Resort facilities were excellent – pools, activities, and relaxing areas were all top-class • Perfect resort for families – kids stay entertained while parents truly relax Martini staff is awesome too ✨ The positive energy of the staff really makes this resort special. They treat you like family and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. 💯 Highly recommended – hands down one of the best resorts ever. We will definitely come back again!

Wonderful family stay at Royalton Cancun We had an amazing family vacation at Royalton Cancun. From check-in to checkout, the hospitality felt genuine and consistent—never forced. Our 7-year-old absolutely loved the Kids Club. Huge thanks to Andrea, Yazmin, Tamara, Cindy, Sheila, Fatima, and the entire team for taking such great care of her. Saying goodbye was emotional, and the small gift they gave her meant a lot. The Vibe team truly brought the resort to life—Angel, Edson, Carmelino, Lucero, Alex, Dany, and Jorge did a fantastic job with daytime activities and evening shows. Choosing our daughter to light the Christmas tree was a special moment we’ll never forget. Special thanks as well to Gonzalo for decorating our room for our engagement, and Irma and many others for their warm service throughout the stay. The beach was clean and beautiful, and while vegetarian food options were somewhat limited, Gourmet Marche and Taj worked well for us. Highly recommend Royalton Cancun for families—especially those traveling with kids.

VISTED AFTER RENOVATIONS DECEMBER 2025! We stayed at Royalton Riviera Cancún from December 9–16, 2025 and had an incredible experience. We traveled with a large group of 12 — 9 adults and 3 children under the age of 3 — and the resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The resort handled our big group beautifully, and everything felt seamless from start to finish. The Diamond Club was absolutely worth it and something I would highly recommend, especially for families. The Diamond Club–only breakfast at Agave was one of our favorite parts of the trip — the food was excellent, the atmosphere was calm, and the service was outstanding. A special shoutout to Carol, our server at Agave. He went above and beyond to accommodate my son’s peanut allergy, was extremely attentive, and was genuinely kind and caring. As a parent, that level of attention and safety means everything. Our favorite dinner restaurant was Taj — the Indian food was phenomenal and honestly some of the best we’ve had at an all-inclusive. We went more than once because it was just that good. The pool service was excellent, especially thanks to Jeshua, one of the pool butlers. He was attentive, friendly, and made our pool days so enjoyable — especially with young kids in tow. We also cannot say enough good things about our butlers, Victoria and Gaby. They were fantastic — always responsive, helpful, and proactive, whether it was dining reservations, room needs, or helping our large group coordinate plans. They truly elevated our stay. Overall, Royalton Riviera Cancún delivered a stress-free, high-quality vacation for a large family group with toddlers, and we would absolutely return. Highly recommend — especially if you’re traveling with kids or a big group and considering the Diamond Club upgrade.

Overall Experience The only consistently positive aspect of our stay was the Vibe Team. Jorge, Luis, and Lucero were especially great and genuinely tried to make the experience enjoyable. They offered many activities and did their best to keep guests engaged and having a good time. Unfortunately, beyond their efforts, the resort was extremely disappointing and clearly not ready to be open. With roughly 300 of an estimated 1,000 guests present, the staff and facilities could not handle even partial capacity—at full capacity, it would be completely unmanageable. Renovations & Safety Issues The property had reportedly been closed for three months for renovations, yet construction was still actively happening during our stay (caulking, pools being renovated, elevators down, escalators frequently out of service). Water puddled throughout common areas, causing us to slip and fall twice. Room Conditions & Cleanliness Our room was dusty upon arrival. The A/C was essentially nonexistent, the balcony smelled strongly of trash, and cups in the room were never replaced. The sliding tub door did not work, and the in-room jacuzzi only fit one person and had black residue coming out of it. The bathroom and shower had no doors—something we later learned is not consistent across all room types. Additionally, the room phone did not work, even though confirmation via phone call is required for room service. There were also several cockroaches in common areas and one in our room, which was extremely concerning. Amenities Not Functioning ATMs were nonexistent. Hot tubs did not work, and the swim-up bar pool was ice cold. WiFi experienced frequent outages. There was no drinking water available in the lobby after hours despite it remaining open; staff told us, “there is water in your room.” Food & Beverage Issues Food service was extremely slow, with restaurant orders taking 2–3 hours. On one occasion, after waiting over three hours for room service we ordered, our food order was removed from the app entirely. We were told “you must’ve left the room because they knocked.” Housekeeping knocks aggressively at 8am, yet room service could not knock or follow up at 2am when we were waiting for our food. There were four of us in the room the entire time and nobody ever came. Service & Staff Staff appeared untrained and disorganized. Several times, we were the only guests in line while 20+ employees stood around, repeatedly directing us from one place to another before ultimately telling us to come back later. Housekeeping continuously knocked at 8am despite stated hours of 9am–5pm and our “Do Not Disturb” sign being displayed. We were repeatedly pressured to leave reviews and take photos throughout our stay. We also waited over an hour for change at the main lobby so we could tip, only to never receive it. App & Communication Failures The in-app chat function did not work properly, and when it finally did, no one responded—even though the app stated responses would be provided within five minutes. Billing & Management Concerns When booking, the terms stated we would be charged two days prior to arrival, which did not happen. After calling, we were told we would be charged at the hotel—directly contradicting the written terms. Following a particularly bad room service experience, we requested compensation. The manager asked how much we paid and questioned whether that “one hiccup” warranted compensation, then told us to return the next morning and said someone would reach out. No one ever contacted us. Checkout Experience At checkout, we were pressured to complete a review while actively trying to leave and make the most of our remaining time at the resort. Final Thoughts While the Vibe Team truly tried their best, this resort is not ready to operate. Between safety hazards, cleanliness issues, broken amenities, poor service, and lack of accountability, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had.
