Our group of 16 (ages 8-77) had an incredible time!! Our rooms (building 7) were fantastic and always cleaned well. Kids loved the waterpark and beach, and adults loved the preferred adult pool. Food is average - crepes and omelettes at breakfast were the best part of the buffet, and we all loved the French restaurant! Vast majority of the staff were fun and friendly, and our butler Starling was outstanding. We absolutely loved our stay!

I recently stayed at Dreams Onyx from December 12th to 19th, 2025 and overall, the resort is beautiful and lush. The landscaping is amazing, with tropical plants, art throughout the property, and a vibrant, authentic Caribbean atmosphere. The pool design encourages social interaction if you want it, and the swimmable beach is gorgeous. Nightlife: Could be improved. There was a gap in entertainment between 7–9 PM, and while some of the 9 PM shows were very good, others were less engaging. There was very little dancing afterward, and there are no late-night venues. For a purely adult party atmosphere, someone might prefer resorts like Breathless. Social Energy & Activities: Despite the nightlife gaps, the social energy was great. We had fun, enjoyed the music, and the daytime activities were excellent. People were happy, and it felt lively but not chaotic or spring-break style. Food & Drinks: The food was really good, with a special highlight on the Friday buffet outside and the Barefoot Grill for lunch. Drinks were enjoyable, though not top-shelf. Service & Cleanliness: Service is high-quality, facilities are well-maintained, and rooms are generally clean. Minor issues like hand marks on the glass in the shower were noticed but overall not a major problem. Atmosphere & Authenticity: This resort stands out for feeling alive, authentic, and Caribbean-focused, rather than Americanized or concrete-heavy. Latin music, local flavors, and regional identity are woven throughout the experience. Safety Concern: Unfortunately, I experienced a serious safety issue during my stay. On my second day, I believe my drink may have been spiked, resulting in memory loss, prolonged unconsciousness, and extreme concern for my family. This was extremely frightening and has made me question the resort’s safety practices. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and implements measures to protect guests. Summary: Dreams Onyx is a stunning, authentic, and social resort with beautiful grounds, excellent food, and strong daytime activities. Nightlife could be enhanced, and guests should always stay vigilant. Despite this, it’s a great choice for adults seeking a vibrant, tropical, and culturally immersive experience.

I recently stayed at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa and it was truly an amazing experience from beginning to end. The service was exceptional every staff member was attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making sure guests felt welcome and cared for. You can clearly see the impact of great management in how smoothly everything runs and how well the team works together. The location is beautiful, offering easy access to the beach and stunning surroundings that make the stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere throughout the resort is relaxing, vibrant, and luxurious, making it the perfect place to unwind. The rooms were spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with great attention to detail. Cleanliness was excellent across the entire property, from the rooms to restaurants and common areas. In terms of value, the experience definitely exceeded expectations, offering incredible quality for the price. Noise levels were very well managed, allowing for both fun and relaxation depending on where you spent your time. The amenities were outstanding, including pools, dining options, entertainment, and of course the spa which truly added to the overall experience. Overall, Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa delivers excellence in every aspect: service, comfort, atmosphere, and hospitality. I highly recommend it and would absolutely return!

We just spent a week at the incredible Dreams Onyx Resort with our family of 9, and I can't say enough good things about this place. We booked a preferred swim-up room at the family pool, which was absolutely perfect for our group with children. The service we received was truly exceptional. Castillo, the bartender at the preferred family pool, went above and beyond every single day. He quickly learned all of our drink orders and always had our favorites ready. What impressed us most was how attentive he was to our kids, making sure they had their favorite drinks too. He made everyone feel special and was incredibly friendly. Castillo is by far the best bartender we've ever encountered at a resort! Our butler/concierge Albert was equally amazing. He was attentive, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. When we mentioned it was my mother-in-law's birthday, Albert took care of everything—he arranged beautiful decorations for her room, ordered a gorgeous cake, and had fresh flowers delivered. His attention to detail and quick service made the celebration truly memorable. The entire staff at Dreams Onyx Resort made our family vacation unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

Very well maintained and beautiful truly luxury resort. We had private swim up rooms and it was very convenient with a newborn. Beach was nice and clean with real palm trees for shades but wasn't able to swim much, it was too wavy. Incresible service and ridiculous variety for food. The sit down restaurants were nice however food flavours were average only. Drink mixes were good. Great experience would visit again. Albert was our butler and he made the experience tenfolds better. Thank you.
