Our experience at the Pyramid of Cancun was fine, but nothing exceptional. The staff was friendly overall, and the food was okay. We never ran out of food at the buffet, despite some reviews warning about that. Depending on the time you go, there can be a wait especially during msin dinner times...but we personally never waited more than about 15 minutes. One downside was the lack of lounge chairs around the pools. Like many resorts, if you don’t go very early to put towels down and reserve chairs, you likely won’t find any available later in the day. Personally, we paid the $75 for a private cabana, which I thought was a good deal and made the pool experience much more enjoyable. This was a family vacation, and for that purpose, the resort worked well enough. The rooms, however, were below par. They weren’t anything special, and some had visible mold. My niece’s room also had cockroaches, which was disappointing and hard to overlook. One thing worth noting is that I am a Spanish speaker, and it’s possible that helped our experience when interacting with staff. I can’t say for certain how service compares for non–Spanish-speaking guests, but it may be something to keep in mind. Would I visit again? Possibly...especially if I were looking for a budget-friendly all-inclusive. But it’s not the kind of place that makes you say, “I’m definitely coming back.” Overall, you get what you pay for, and this is not a high-end, luxury all-inclusive experience. All that said I enjoyed my time there.

The rooms at the pyramid are great — clean, spacious, and really comfortable. The outside pool is amazing and definitely one of the highlights of the resort. The overall location is fantastic, and the views are absolutely stunning. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant situation. Most of the good restaurants require reservations, and they fill up quickly, so you don’t always get the chance to use them. Other than that, it’s a wonderful experience!

UPDATE: Replying to my review does not mean you take care of it. One of the worst hotel experiences of my life at The Pyramid Cancun. Service The service at this hotel is absolutely unacceptable. No one serves you unless you tip first. If you do not tip upfront, you are ignored, treated poorly, or flat-out refused service. Servers are rude, cold, and openly hostile. One server in particular, Miguel, was shockingly disrespectful. He did not smile once, would not engage with us even when we tried to be friendly and make jokes, and actually told us we could not order the food we wanted because, in his words, “that’s too much food.” Imagine going to an all-inclusive resort and being told you are not allowed to order what you want. After we finished eating, we asked for more food and he told us the kitchen was closed. We literally left the restaurant hungry. At checkout, the situation somehow got even worse. The customer service agent Hannia was rude from the moment we arrived. There was a clear mistake on our checkout bill. I calmly explained, showed pictures, and provided proof. She would disappear to speak to her manager and come back with the same wrong answer every single time. At one point, she actually raised her voice and yelled at me. They refused to fix the mistake and forced us to pay the extra charge. Service overall was complete garbage. Food For an “all-inclusive” resort, be prepared to wait hours to get into any restaurant that is supposedly included. Long lines everywhere, every day. Once you finally get in, half the menu is out of stock. Some of the food was decent, but nothing special and absolutely not worth the stress. Room service food was especially bad. Cold, tasteless, and disappointing. Pools and Beach Chairs This was one of the most infuriating parts of the trip. All pool and beach chairs are taken before sunrise because people pay servers to “reserve” them with towels. I woke up at 7am every day trying to find a chair and there was nothing available. I asked staff about booking a spot and was told everything was fully booked and to come back the next day. I literally ended up sitting on the floor. The next day, I tried to pay for a spot and was told the only available areas were Cocoa and Sian Ka’an, which are not included in the all-inclusive package. I said fine, whatever, I will pay. Then they told me it was $120 USD. I ended up paying $120 USD for four days straight just to have somewhere to sit. Rooms and Cleanliness The rooms are dirty. Not just “could be better” dirty, but genuinely dirty. I asked multiple times for someone to clean the balcony so I could sit outside and enjoy the ocean view. No one ever came. Overall This trip was supposed to be relaxing. Instead, it was stressful, frustrating, and exhausting. Between rude staff, constant extra charges, long waits, lack of basic service, and dirty rooms, this hotel completely ruined the experience. I left the resort crying from stress. I would never come back and would strongly warn anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. This place does not deserve the price or the “luxury” reputation it pretends to have.

We stayed here nine nights, and our family of four had a wonderful holiday. The pool and the beach were definitely highlights. We definitely plan on coming back here. The housekeepers Graciela and Raquel we're so friendly and always left our room spotless. The resort is beautiful we always saw people cleaning and making sure you were well taken care of. We've been to Cancun many times and we will definitely be returning to this resort. Thank you for making our holiday so amazing.

My family and I stayed at the Pyramid for 5 days and 4 nights. Pros: 1. Access to beach was easy. Beach was beautiful. 2. Pools are great. Good for kids of all ages. They have a wading pool for toddlers or kids that are still learning how to swim and deeper ends for older kids. 3. Good selection of restaurants (hard to get reservation though). Plenty of food options to try and multiple cuisines. 4. Staff were friendly and hard working. Cons: 1. The rooms are outdated but more importantly they smell musty. When our concerns were brought to staff, their solution was to spray Febreeze like fragrance which only masked the issue and not address the underlying concern. 2. Bathrooms were not clean. On one day in particular, there was fecal matter on the bathroom floor. The issue was brought to the staffs attention and to my dismay it was still there when I went to use the restroom again later during the day. 3. Buffet options are limited in food. 4. Beach chairs are limited. For the amount of guests that stayed when we were there, more beach chairs should've been available. Ultimately, I do not plan on returning to The Pyramid Cancun with my family due to these reasons. I sincerely hope that changes are made, especially on the cleanliness of the facilities as well as the outdated rooms and it's weird smell.
