I came here for a peaceful week of relaxing with my girlfriend and was pretty happy with my experience. All of the staff were PHENOMINAL! They were all very courteous, went out of their way to help you, and seemed to really care about their jobs. I want to give a shoutout to the bartender Esau for taking the time to remember our drink orders and Nelson at Mirabar for always being welcoming and also remembering us every morning. All of the front desk staff were energetic and seemed to always know what to do to help you. Although the staff are great, it seems like they are a bit understaffed. When the bartender ran out of ice, he would need to leave the bar unattended for a while while he went to get ice which caused large lineups. This in addition to the fact that alcohol bars would cease at about midnight and not start again until 11AM in the morning. The restaurant food was great! But there were 1 or 2 servers scurrying around to wait on 12-13 tables. All of the staff work hard, but the staffing levels seemed to affect the experience by a bit by leading to long wait times. Next, we paid for the Sian Kan Junior experience and were generally satisfied with the results, given that we have exclusive access to 2 pool spaces and bars, and a room with a jacuzzi. We were thoroughly disappointed with our first room. The mirror looked oxidized, the lights were coming out of the ceiling, and the jacuzzi dripped water all night. Worst of all, the toilet didn’t work. Upon going back and forth with the reception staff and maintenance personnel, they kindly offered to relocate us to another room the following day. The next room seemed well taken care of, but I am disappointed that we had to go through that experience. Additionally we were disappointed to come back to the room one night to see housekeeping had made up the bed with dirty sheets with yellow and brown stains on them. We contacted reception and they quickly rectified this. However again, I think this should be more carefully vetted. Overall the facilities are beautiful and the footprint of the resort is pretty small so it is easy to get around. There were activities throughout the day to keep guests entertained. The whole beach is a snorkelling zone that is very rocky so I highly encourage you to bring water shoes and a snorkel as there are none to rent. Overall the next time I come back, I’d definitely spend that extra little bit for the Sian Kan master suite. Thank you for making my Mexico experience special!

The good- Location is gorgeous. It's quiet, and not the typical annoying party place you see down south. Food has been mostly great. Mostly never an issue getting chairs (more on that later). Staff has been friendly and helpful. The bad- Construction- and I mean breaking up tile floor construction- in the room beside us on the second to last day we were here. A note from the hotel the day before letting us know this would be happening would have been nice so we could have planned accordingly. Especially when you have paid a premium for that specific level of room. Management- A SIMPLE NOTE LETTING GUESTS KNOW THEY WILL BE LISTENING TO HEAD SPLITTING MACHINE GRINDING ALL DAY IS SUCH A SIMPLE THING TO DO. DO BETTER. Don't waste your money on the Sian Ka'an rooms unless you really want ocean views. We never got any bonus Sian Ka'an room amenities (jacuzzi, plunge pool) because 'they weren't available', we actually were checked in over an hour later than the regular check in and we didn't get late checkout at all, and then the private area that is supposed to be for Sian Ka'an guests can actually be bought for at the hotel day to day by any guest leaving the ones who actually paid for it in advance s.o.l. The only good thing was having an ocean view room, but I feel like you can get that without paying for the extra crap. It felt a little scammy. The good thing is they are pretty good about keeping kids out of that private pool area anyways. There is a larger pool behind the main hotel with louder music and more 'fun' for those into that sort of thing. Overall, it was a quiet resort which we liked, but we definitely regret paying an extra $400 each for an experience we never got.

Just leaving from our honeymoon, not one single thing was offered or done to celebrate the occasion. There is not enough seating on loungers or the canopy beds for the amount of people needing them around the beach/pools. We booked an adults only trip and had screaming kids tossing around a beach ball and get you right in the face and were using the pools in the adult only area. We booked a day bed multiple occasions and ended up being told to move because the staff mixed up the reservation and then we no longer had a spot anywhere around the beach or the pools.we had multiple surprise charges through the trip that were explained or accounted for. When trying to address with the staff and managers there they gave me a run around. We are incredibly disappointed that we wasted our honeymoon here and would not recommend for anyone. The only good thing about the experience was the breakfast at Miramar and the staff there were lovely and knew everything we wanted by the end of the week. The food there was delicious. Besides that, immediately a no for me, will not be returning here.

I think all reviews before Dec 2025 need to be disregarded. My stay at The Sens was great! It’s on the beach and the hotel is gorgeous. Room: I stayed in the adults only (Sian Ka’an) section, in the Master Suite, and omg I barely left my room. It had amazing views and a private plunge pool and great sun loungers. There’s also a rooftop for the adults only section with beds and several plunge pools as well (so you don’t really need the Master Suite to get the same amenity). Restaurants: The Miramar (seafood/grill) and Careyes (gourmet) restaurants were sooo good. The buffet is okay, typical for an all inclusive; not great, not bad. Activities: They had daily yoga and other small daily activities. The vibe here was definitely more on the chill side. Service: Everyone I came in contact with was super friendly! They give you a map with basically all the info you need. They also have a WhatsApp to reach the front desk if you need (although i just used the room phone). It did take a while to get water bottles sent to the room so just keep that in mind. Definitely would stay here again!

I recently stayed at The Sens Tulum Riviera from January 17–24, 2026. Early on, it’s worth noting that the property is now under the ownership of the Grand Oasis Group and was newly renovated as of December 2025. This is very evident in areas such as the lobby and Careyes restaurant, which feel modern and refreshed. The resort app isn’t perfect or especially interactive, but it is useful for checking what’s open, daily activities, and viewing some restaurant menus. Highlights: Seaweed: There was no seaweed on the beach for almost my entire stay, right up until the final day. The grounds crew did an excellent job maintaining the beach. Room & Location: We stayed in the Sian Ka’an Junior Suite, which had a deck opening directly onto the beach—an unbeatable location. While the room itself wasn’t renovated and did look a bit tired, the beachfront access more than made up for it. Sian Ka’an (18+) Area: This side was noticeably quieter and less busy than the family side, which we really appreciated. It also gave us access to the rooftop bar, daybeds, individual pools, and exclusive dining at Careyes and Miramar, which elevated the experience. Dining: Buffet: Excellent selection, with enough daily variation to keep things fresh. If you’re very hungry, this is the place to go. The rest of the à la carte restaurants can be quite slow when it comes to food service, except Sarape, which stood out. The rib dinner there was a pleasant surprise—it was actually a braised short rib and very well done. Careyes: Be patient here. The food takes time, but the servers work extremely hard and genuinely try to please. The hostess even remembered our names between visits, which was impressive. We went twice, and highlights were the grilled whole octopus, beef tartare, and whole fried fish. Miramar: A fantastic spot for breakfast. In addition to the à la carte menu, they offer a breakfast bar with a better assortment of fresh fruit (mangoes, lychee, rambutan, passion fruit), fresh juices, and staples like bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns. For lunch, I highly recommend the calamari and the grilled sea bass with annatto seed marinade. The staff here are pleasant and clearly aim to please. Standout Service: Superstar bartender Antonio at the Sian Ka’an beach bar deserves special recognition. Other reviews mention him, and they are absolutely correct—he truly is the real deal. Antonio consistently goes the extra mile to make guests feel valued. He overheard that we were looking for fresh coconuts and arranged them for us. We loved the michelada mix, and he worked with management to sell us a bottle to take with us. When he found out we loved mangoes, he brought over a fresh mango and made us a fresh mango slushie on the spot. Antonio is a true asset to the resort, and the rest of the staff could learn a lot from him about genuine hospitality. Protect this man at all costs, Grand Oasis / The Sens Riviera. Thumbs down: I booked a daybed for January 23, 2026 with Carlos Santos and was given written confirmation. When I went to claim it, my reservation could not be found. The front desk staff that morning took no ownership of the issue and offered no solutions (not even something like checking availability for the next day). With daybeds being a highly sought-after commodity, this was extremely disappointing and left a sour note on my experience. This is an area that clearly needs better attention and accountability. Other notes: If you don’t like raccoons, this may not be the place for you. They keep to themselves, but there are many on the grounds at night. We personally found one particularly amusing—sitting in front of the 24-hour coffee bar, guarding it like a nightclub bouncer. Pro tips (outside the resort): Walk a few minutes past the boats and you’ll find Beached Bikini Bar, a great change of pace if you’re tired of resort food. Their tacos al pastor are excellent. (Not affiliated with the resort.) Walk a bit further and you’ll find beachside massages at roughly half the price of what the resort charges.
