From the second we walked into the hotel we were welcomed with warm smiles from all the friendly staff. The staff did an amazing job at making us feel at home. The first night I accidentally missed a step and sprang both of my ankles. They saw I was having trouble and immediately helped me and from then on they continued to check on me to make sure I was comfortable. Everyone was so helpful throughout our whole stay. From helping us find activities to do, to renting golf carts and just simply having good conversations. During our stay we experienced hurricane beryl and I will say they did an astronomical job at keeping their guests safe. They also were very quick at cleaning up after the storm so guests could get back to enjoying the pools and the hotel grounds. The hotel also had different activities going on through the stay so there is plenty of things to do. I recommend renting a golf cart to drive around the community. Room service was amazing and pretty quick every single time. There are different restaurants and places to eat in the hotel and around the property. Dolphin experience was a must do! Overall I would be happy to come back at stay!! It was such a positive experience! Thank you Dreams for making this a vacation we will always remember.

Upon arrival, the customer service was great from the very beginning. Javier , Rudolpho were excellent. Always friendly and helpful. But the rooms had a subtle mildew odor and the food was lackluster. My group spent most of our time in the nearby local area on a golf cart. If you’re a family with small children, this is the perfect resort for you as far as the entertainment goes.

This resort was peaceful and a perfect getaway for a week. The staff is especially nice and welcoming. The rooms were clean and maintained twice a day which was great. Although this resort seems small, there were plenty of great food options to choose from and nightly activities/entertainment. Absolutely worth the price!

This resort is definitely for families not really a couples resort, lots of kids even at the swim up bar, which can be a bit much for someone who wanted to relax & enjoy drinks. Music was okay, the food was 2/5 stars. The breakfast was terrible, waffles were hard, overall there isn’t much to chose from. They don’t have a buffet that’s open all day. They close and open at certain times. However, El Patio Mexican restaurant is 5 stars! The Asian restaurant is 4/5 stars. They do have a lunch only walk up grill called Barefoot Grill that was really disappointing, the cheese was runny, the food under cooked, overall it was a 2.5/5. The night lounge was super cold, like 50 degrees making us sick. Just wasn’t the experience we wanted but we made the best of it. Room service was good but the food wasn’t not. Plus we also had a ceiling leak that was taken care of upon calling to report it. Housekeeping was good, staff was nice but definitely could add more love & variety of flavor to their cooking.

"5 Star Hotel" is extremely generous. I do not recommend that anyone spend money on this resort.
Let me preface by saying I worked in hospitality for several years, so I would not post this if I was not completely disappointed by the service I received. I'm just gonna list the main issues:
-initial check-in process was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour while they "checked on our room" which clearly was not ready by the time we arrived at 3 pm (standard check in time). The spa and excursions staff also bombarded us with "promotions" while we waited too, only increasing an already frustrating situation, as we had traveled all day to get to the resort and just wanted to get to our room and relax.
-as you can see in the photos/screenshots, we paid for a deluxe king room with ocean view; the first picture is the view we actually had (trees and pool). When we asked our travel agent to investigate this, the hotel lied and said we got what we paid for.
-room smelled like mildew. Given all the other issues we had to report, we didn't even bother bringing this one up to staff and just dealt with it for 3 days.
-phone was not working when we arrived and we had to ask for them to fix it 3 times (the wifi was also not working when we arrived so phone access was important).
-ice machine on our floor was broken- we reported this more than once and it was not fixed by the time we left.
-construction work was happening on either side of our room every day we were there- it was very loud and I was unable to sleep.
Positives: the housekeeping and bar staff were nice. The location is obviously beautiful. Food was mostly good.
I understand the hurricane caused damage to the hotel, but some transparency and kindness from the staff could have mitigated the disappointment in Dreams Aventuras. Instead, the front desk staff was extremely dismissive of our experience despite how much money we paid to be there. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT.
