The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando

For Floridians just coming from west side to get for a few days location is great- mostly country roads and little traffic bc it’s on the outskirts of major attractions. Beautiful grounds, rooms were large and clean. We did a two bedroom and the master suite was wonderful. We paid for early check in although there was some concern about room availability upon arrival. Check in was slow, recommend doing the app check in steps to speed up process. At the normal check in time of 4 the line was very long, grateful we could take advantage of the early check in option. The layout including elevators are poor- long, narrow corridors and small elevators. There also aren’t enough elevators for a resort this large. We ended up using the stairs frequently. The app that is suggested to download holds no updated info like daily events. The food was good, service was fair. At waterpark took several asks to get service. Gratuity is included on every bill which of course I didn’t notice right away.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT STAY HERE!! We had just completed a 5 hour flight with two toddlers and a one-hour drive from the airport to the resort, we were tired and exhausted and were greeted like trash. Front desk personnel was so hostile and rude. The people at the market were even worse. A smile goes a long way guys! Please do better next time. 2. We stayed in a three bedroom condo, and had dirty pool towels and requested fresh ones. They stated that we needed to wash them ourselves. I am on vacation, I am not doing laundry on my days off, hello?! 3. Their shuttle to the Disney Epcot left late (11am) and picks you up almost two hours later after the park closes (10:45pm) and there’s like five other stops at other hotels that they do not inform you about. Please let your guests know, that way they are not stuck waiting for the pickup 2 hours after the park closes and then another 90 minutes of transporting other since The Grove is the last stop. Uber was expensive, I think we were better off just staying at a Disney Resort in order to have gotten all free shuttles to all the parks. 4. You’re water park needs showers and changing rooms like any other water park.also, the halls were full of trash that would last days as they weren’t picked up by the staff.

Honestly I do not understand how this hotel could be rated as a 4 star. I’m pretty shocked by how deceiving the pictures are. This place is old, run down, and so poorly laid out. Everyone gets lost pretty much the entire time. I thought it was just my family and then I watched pretty much all the other guests struggle the same way. The rooms are so beat up. Furniture is scratched, dented, missing paint and is super dated. Carpet is old and dirty. We had hair everywhere when we arrived. Even on the plates in the cabinet. All of our sheets and towels had stains and weird crusty stuff on them. I had them bring a fresh bag to our room. Took approximately an hour and the new bag was even worse. The water park said it closed at 8. It was even advertised through the park but then they kicked us out at 6:45 and said they close at 6:50. Very specific time. Which was fine because the lazy river was disgustingly. The water was brown and had so much mulch in it. Water pressure is terrible. Good luck showering a kid. Save yourself the trip and head to Great Wolf Lodge in Naples because this is a waste of money! Oh and stairwells and parking garage had puke everywhere. So gross.

We enjoyed the pool and the water park, but we will not be going back to this resort. The staff gave us issues when we asked for extra towels for our room and made us wait all day just to get extra towels so that we could give our kids a bath. When we asked for towels they responded by saying "did we not give you enough" mind you, me and my wife were there for multiple days with our 2 children and we only received 4 towels when we checked in, so I'm not sure why they were being difficult about giving us more. The woman at the front desk was very friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay, so I'm not sure which staff member it was that was being difficult, since we were communicating via phone.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I can't wait to never go back! The property was not created as a hotel- it looks like they were meant to be apartments and they changed their minds last minute to make it a hotel. You might not think that would be a big deal but think about how many times you come and go from your home/apartment vs how many times you go to and from your hotel room. Much more movement in a hotel so you have to have more elevators that function at a higher capacity. If you do not have kids and are on a lower floor- you should not have an issue but with a stroller or on a higher floor- you will be screwed. Be prepared to wait in a line for the elevators and finding yourself hauling everything to the next elevator (not close) when one is broken like it was for us. Also the walls are super thin and you can hear everything in the room next door. Another huge issue I had with the property is security. During our stay, the TV displayed an incorrect room number and name- when I informed the front desk, they made it seem like it happened all the time and shrugged it off. The Operator was condescending and was explaining why this would happen; that the room was not set up properly. Well I don't really care how the room was setup- I do not trust that our name and room number is not displayed in a random room of the hotel. So if you want the rooms near you to know your name and room number- def check this hotel out.
