0/5 — I do NOT recommend. This was one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. I stayed at the Royalton for a veterinary conference and to celebrate my birthday, and the entire experience was awful from start to finish. • Two-hour wait just to check in after traveling all day. • The room was in terrible condition — rusted furniture, stained chairs, and extreme humidity to the point where the sheets felt damp. We had to request new bedding. • No real hot water on the first night. • Misleading “ocean view” room. I paid for an ocean view and was told that being in Building 2 and above the first floor “automatically counts.” It absolutely was NOT an ocean view. Completely misleading and feels fraudulent. The food and service were unacceptable. • I had hair in my food. • Some of the food was served raw. • When I mentioned that my food was raw, the staff didn’t care and offered no solution. • One of the worst moments: my plate of food was given to another guest by mistake, and after she had already dug her fork into it, the server tried to give that same plate to me as if that was acceptable. I had to ask for a new plate. Completely ridiculous and unsanitary. • Overall, the food did not taste good, and the staff seemed unmotivated, unaccommodating, and unwilling to help with anything. Guest services never answered the phone! It genuinely felt like the staff are not treated well—and it shows in how the guests are treated. There was no effort to fix issues, no genuine customer service, and no accountability anywhere on the resort. I was here for work and for my birthday, and this experience ruined both. I would never return, and I absolutely wish I could get a refund. The entire stay was disappointing, frustrating, and far below even basic hospitality standards.

Think Twice Before Booking The Hideaway at Royalton St Lucia (Marriott) If you're considering the premium "Hideaway" upgrade for a true adults-only, luxury experience, prepare to be severely disappointed. This resort, currently managed as a Marriott, fell far short of a relaxing and beautiful vacation, and the added cost for the upgrade is absolutely not worth it. The "Adults-Only" Lie The biggest frustration was paying extra for the adults-only Hideaway section, only to find the lines blurred and the exclusivity non existent: * The adults-only beach area is laughably separated by only a simple rope and is consistently infiltrated by children, with no staff enforcing the boundary. * The promised "exclusive" area consists of only one tiny adults-only pool. Most amenities feel mixed with the main family-friendly resort. Do not pay the upgrade fee expecting a secluded or exclusive experience. Subpar Service and Basic Amenities Missing The service across the resort was unacceptable and led to constant frustration: * Room Service: Despite being advertised as 24/7 all-inclusive, Room Service repeatedly failed to answer the phone. * Basic Amenities Missing: We went three days without hand soap for the sink, despite asking daily. We were forced to use body wash. To make matters worse, we begged for hand towels for two straight days and were continually told they were "on the way” they never arrived. Even after our room was cleaned, the empty body wash dispenser was not refilled. * Food & Dining: The food was subpar at best. Scheduled dining options, like the jerk chicken food truck, were often closed when they were clearly supposed to be open. This resort was incredibly disappointing and actively detracted from what we hoped would be a relaxing, beautiful getaway. Save your money and look elsewhere for a truly premium, adults only experience

I recently stayed at the Hideaway Royalton St. Lucia with Diamond Club status and, unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations—especially for a resort associated with a Marriott brand. While the property has potential, the level of service, cleanliness, and overall quality did not align with the premium price point. Service & Staff Attention: Service throughout the resort was inconsistent and often disappointing. Even with Diamond Club status, staff responsiveness was minimal, and it was clear that guests without Diamond Club access received even less attention. Basic requests, such as fresh washcloths on the first night, went unfulfilled despite multiple follow-ups. This set the tone for what became a continuous pattern of poor service. Cleanliness & Room Conditions: The rooms and several areas of the resort were not well maintained. We noticed visible mold, cleanliness issues, and overall lack of care in both the room and common areas. For a resort positioned as luxury, this was unacceptable and concerning. Food & Availability: Food quality was average at best. Additionally, the resort frequently ran out of essentials like ice, certain foods, and various alcohol selections, creating ongoing inconveniences throughout the stay. At this price point, guests should never feel like the resort is constantly out of basic items. Overall Value: The resort is simply not worth the cost. Between the inconsistent service, cleanliness concerns, limited availability of supplies, and mediocre food, the stay did not meet expectations. This was not the level of quality or professionalism I anticipated from a Marriott-affiliated property, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing all-inclusive stay I’ve ever experienced. From repeatedly placing room service orders that never showed up, to waiting over 5 hours (and making multiple calls) for a basic maintenance request, it felt like service was consistently falling short. Even simple things like finding pool towels became a daily challenge. The dinner reservation system was another letdown — the app would show everything as fully booked, yet when we walked in, the restaurant was nearly empty. On several occasions, we genuinely felt like we were inconveniencing the staff just by asking for basic needs. Food-wise, I’d give it a 3 out of 10 at best, and that’s when menu items were actually available. And the extra charge for the “adults-only” side? Definitely not worth it. There’s little separation from the family side, and most of the amenities and activities are actually over there anyway — which creates even more confusion and walking back and forth. Overall, this experience missed the mark in too many ways to justify the price or the expectations set by the resort.

From check-in to check-out, the staff here have been consistently rude and unhelpful. The worst part has been their policy on the RFID wristbands. One of ours slipped off during our stay, and despite us not doing anything rough or irresponsible, we were told it was our fault and charged $150 to replace something that clearly costs about a dollar. They were dismissive, blamed us immediately, and showed zero willingness to help or even acknowledge that the band might be defective. It feels like a money grab and completely ruined the “all-inclusive” experience. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and this has been the most disappointing customer service by far. Not worth the hassle.
