Sandals Halcyon has the potential to be a true 5-star resort, and in many ways it already shines—but a few service issues held it back from being the perfect vacation for us. To start with the positives: The rooms are fantastic—clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The pools are great, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the food is genuinely outstanding at every restaurant we tried. When the staff are nice, they are really nice, and those interactions absolutely made parts of our stay wonderful. However, the beginning of our trip wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been due to a few staff members who were not friendly or welcoming. A small number of servers and, in particular, the night bartender were consistently rude—not just to us but to multiple guests we spoke with. This set a disappointing tone early on. Things did get better after a few days, but mostly because we learned which areas to avoid in order to steer clear of the poor service. I really hope management addresses this, especially the bartender in the evenings, because so many guests noticed the same issue. With consistently warm, friendly service, this resort would easily be 5 stars. On a brighter note, we highly recommend doing the boat excursion to the mud bath, waterfall, and snorkeling with Skittles, who you’ll find right on the beach—an amazing experience and absolutely worth it. We also visited the other Sandals properties. The Grand was lovely, and while we also checked out La Toc, we honestly felt Halcyon was nicer overall. Despite the service hiccups, we enjoyed our stay and truly believe Sandals Halcyon could be exceptional with just a bit more focus on consistent hospitality.

The resort was beautiful, romantic, and very laid back, with lots of greenery. Our room was cleaned daily, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is near a highway, so you do hear traffic at times. The food was okay but didn’t feel very authentic, and many of the fine dining restaurants were booked during our stay. There isn’t a dedicated café on site, just coffee machines in the lobby and main restaurant, which was surprising. The excursions offered through the resort were fantastic and were honestly the highlight of our trip. Transportation was included, and they were extremely well organized. There are three Sandals resorts on St. Lucia, and you can take a shuttle between them if you want a different vibe or more dining options. On the beach, local vendors will occasionally approach you, and while they were kind and not pushy, it’s something to be aware of. Overall, a great resort with amazing excursions and friendly staff, just a few things to keep in mind depending on the experience you’re looking for.

Writing this midway of our vacation and we just love it here! The staff are so friendly and accommodating. So many times they remember our name when there are so many people! A very nice personal touch! This is one of the smallest Sandals but that is something we are loving about the resort! Even though we were told the resort is completely booked we never have any problems getting chairs by the pool or on the beach and the pools are almost empty. The grounds are so beautifully kept. We just love it here!❤️❤️❤️

The resort and excursions were breathtaking and perfect but the people are what made this trip for us. Samani, who did our orientation, and Jeanny, who helped us plan our excursions at island routes, were just so special. Thank you for your incredible hospitality, attitude and for being awesome new friends to my wife. My wife loves to make new friends and learn new things and every single staff member always had the time to answer my wife’s questions and be incredibly fun and hospitable while they. Every bartender, housekeeper and server was just awesome and will be the reason we will come back!

We went to Sandals Halycon St. Lucia after Christmas and the New Year. The rooms are ok a bit dated and rugs are stained and dirty. We had trouble getting reservations at the restaurants which was limited. Mario’s was very good and April our server was excellent. Finding a good lunch didn’t happen unless you went to the pizza food truck. Soy was great for Sushi. The food overall was just mediocre. Service at the buffets for water and coffee was hit or miss. The beach was the most disappointing thing as there isn’t one. Another thing is if you stepped onto the public beach you were harassed by locals. Even on property you were approached by sales people at the pool and Vanessa stopped us each day to pressure us for a massage. I wouldn’t go back to this resort.
