My fiance and I love this place! The swim out pool was definitely worth it for us! We met so many interesting, lovely, and kind people! Teddy was at my proposal and he truly made it special! Also the bartender at the dinner was super kind! The only thing that my fiance didn’t like was our massage therapist ruining the surprise for us by telling us we had the pop the question package, but that does not affect our opinion on this place(: Thank you calabash cove we will definitely be back!

We spent a week here early March 2025. A wonderful resort - beautiful tropical setting, lush landscaping, attractive rooms, nice beach, - and above all - Rey quiet and peaceful. Our room was a “swim out room” with direct access to the infinity pool from our room. Had all meals at the hotel - excellent food and an ever changing choice. Service was a bit slow but all staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Beach is small but not at all crowded - plenty of seating for everybody - no need to get up at six on the morning to reserve a lounge chair. Music every night at dinner time - some singers/instrumentalists were quit good. A happy hour one evening for guests to intermingle. Overall a top notch resort -small but well worth it. Only issue is the ride by car to and from the airport - a two hour drive over nasty roads! Next trip, we would try the helicopter or the ferry

Just spent three nights at Calabash Cove and it was a great stay overall. The food was top notch for a resort and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately we had two separate issues with water coming into our room through the balcony door from above us, once at midnight waking us up. The power at the hotel did go out for a few hours but it was during the late morning when we could go to the beach so that wasn't really a big issue, just a few small things you may not expect from a resort this caliber. Otherwise it was a great experience and I would recommend this resort highly for anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing trip with great food.

I vacillated between giving this hotel two or three stars. It’s probably three overall but given what I paid it ended up as two. For context I paid around $12,500 for two rooms B&B for 11 nights over Christmas. Firstly, the location with the private bay and views are 5*. Sadly that’s where it ended for us. The toilet smelled for the duration of our trip. We raised it, it didn’t get fixed, it’s presumably a drains issue. The room service was hit and miss, somethings replaced sometimes not others. I didn’t have any shower gel for the first few days despite asking the room service ladies and even taking the lid off the pump dispenser and leaving it on the side with the hope to elicit some shower gel, sadly that didn’t work either…. The rooms themselves were decent, but a bit tired. I think the food and service in restaurant was where it really fell down. Just really mixed at best, and that’s probably a kindness. I won’t go into all the details but I particularly recall the bread which was like the worst kind of cheap mass produced bread roll you get in economy on a plane. Just not acceptable to serve that with dinner in a hotel at this level and most of the rest of the food was similar. Not all terrible but very little great and much pretty bad. The staff were also just very poorly trained/informed and I kind of thought “ah we’re on an island you can’t expect quality staff”. However we went to many other hotels and restaurants and that showed me that wasn’t necessarily the case. You had to generally manage the staff to get what you wanted, which is obv not relaxing. We ordered some blanc de blanc champagne and got a bottle of Prosecco, when we queried it we were told “ah don’t worry it’s all sparkling wine, it’s all the same thing”. I get that kind of take in a local bar but not in the restaurant of a 5* hotel. They also told us they had a wine special that day. We asked what type of wine it was and were told “grape flavoured”. You got a general vibe that none of the staff had any idea whatsoever about anything to do with food or wine, which again isn’t what you would expect from a 5* hotel. I don’t think having one member of staff who has some vague knowledge of the small number of wines they serve is too much to ask…. Though poorly organised most of the staff were lovely but two or three of the women working in the restaurant were honestly just rude, and it felt like we were troubling them by being there…. In the end it’s a 3* hotel in a 5* location and I left feeling kind of robbed given what we’d paid. EDIT: I've checked it wasn't $15,000 as I originally stated but it wasn't what the hotel put in the response either. It was £9,434 which at current rates, which are pretty similar to the rates a few months back, it was $12,233, so not far off the 'around $15,000' I'd put originally.

This resort is at a beautiful location with amazing views. The drive from the airport to the resort is about 1-1.5 hour depending on your driver. This 26-room resort is multilevel with no elevator or handicap access and way too many steps so make sure you’re in good cardio shape. Our room even had steps up to the bathroom. The staff and servers were 5star friendly but 4 star speed (being generous here). The food was hit or miss. Some of my favorites were the goat cheese appetizer, shrimp tempura appetizer and the lamb chops and the steak for entree. And don’t leave without having at least one “Dirty Banana” cocktail at the pool bar!
