Dr. De-Shaun McKeller (DrM)
Our stay at Royalton Saint Lucia Resort & Spa in Cap Estate took everything to the next level. The resort blended modern comfort with tropical elegance, offering spacious suites, incredible dining options, and a beach that felt like a private paradise. With multiple pools, a world-class spa, and activities for every mood, we were perfectly set up for both adventure and total relaxation. Whether we were savoring local flavors, soaking in the Caribbean sun, or simply watching the world slow down around us, the island wrapped us in a sense of peace that’s hard to put into words. Beautiful, lush, relaxing doesn’t even begin to cover it.

It has the wow factor on check in but unfortunately it lacked a lot of substance. It was disappointing to say the least. I would definitely not rate it 5*. We came from spending 10nights in coconut bay which was incredible to a very disappointing 11nights at the royalton. We got married at coconut bay and the royalton was our honeymoon- we had no congratulations despite it being on the booking notes, nothing in our room to congratulate us and no champagne in the room. (We received champagne in the room 3 times at coconut bay with some beautiful towel art!) definitely didn’t have the same level of personal touches at the royalton. The room looked beautiful. But we got there an hour after check in time and still had to wait an hour to get to our room as it wasn’t ready and we had to bring our own luggage up too. Also no welcome drink. The room on and off did have a sewage smell which again we mentioned to reception but nothing was done about it. Also a coffee maker in your room that you can’t use without BUYING a plug adapter from the hotel shop. The staff overall seemed less than impressed to be there. No one wanted to help you, we asked several days in a row for more hangers and kept getting told they would be sent up only to receive them 5 days later. There would consistently be a long wait at any bar, normally 3-5 staff members behind the bar but only 1 reluctant server. They continuously ran out of ingredients. The one exception to this was the absolutely lovely and wonderful life guard zanley! My daughter made friends with her and she was so lovely, kind and gave my daughter some incredible holiday/birthday memories. Zanley also found our son’s hat, had handed it to the towel hut and told us the next day that she had found it and handed it in. However when I went to collect it had mysteriously disappeared…which was disappointing despite going to the towel hut and asking at reception about lost and found the hat had disappeared. (Pretty sure the staff must just throw it away!) The pools are beautiful, the beach lovely, the gym was good, the view of the sunset incredible and the food was pretty tasty in the restaurants and the buffet. So not all bad. It was our daughter’s 5th birthday while we were there and we paid for a cake to be delivered to the restaurant which was great, they sang happy birthday to her which she loved. We had a great holiday because of what we made it, we used the facilities which were great, pools were a massive hit with us and the kids, but unfortunately the overall staff ( minus the lovely Zanley) let the resort down. Overall wouldn’t recommend and definitely not worth the amount of money it costs.

I booked the penthouse suite. Which cost about $4,000 dollars. The plunge pool was dirty when we arrived and when we got it, it appeared the water hadn't been changed. We also arrived at 4pm and was told all restraunts require a reservation, but kickers..... the booking time ends at 2pm and we had to eat at the buffet. We decided to order room service, the first two items we requested(Jalapeno poppers and chicken tenders) they were currently out of. Our room came with a mini bar which we were told would be restocked daily. By day 3 it had not been restocked we requested for it to be restocked and was told they were out of a few items(M&Ms and Chips) which was basically the whole mini bar. Our butler was great and was able to locate some for us. We requested the couples massage at the spa and was told the jets in the tub didn't work and that the steam room was out of order. I have more I can say but i'll leave it there. This is not a 4.5 star hotel, it appears that it once was but the upkeep was not maintained. The people are nice and the views are amazing but as someone whos stayed at many of all inclusive resort this one misses the mark when it comes to value.

I hate to sound like a review-rating snob, but in this case, it’s justified. I normally wouldn’t stay at a resort with just a 4.1-star rating, but I came here for a group trip and unfortunately, every concern I had going in was confirmed. From the start, the service has been consistently poor. Staff seem overwhelmed or uninterested, even with the "butler" with the Diamond Club upgrade. And getting a dinner reservation has been nearly impossible. We've had to eat at the buffet for almost every meal, and the food quality has been consistently disappointing. The one reservation we did have at the Italian restaurant was one of the worst experiences I've ever had dining period. Aside from the near 1-hour wait for our food, once it finally came out, it didn't even look edible. We took a bite or two, realized how awful it tasted, and walked over to the buffet. The resort itself is in rough shape. There’s obvious deferred maintenance everywhere, from outdated, worn-down rooms to neglected hotel grounds. I don't know how true it is, but I heard this place was built in a year. And honestly, I can tell. The beach is practically unusable and feels like an afterthought. Extremely rocky and dirty. Guests had a better time at the near by Pigeon Beach. Everything looks nice on the photos, but trust me, it's a completely different experience once you are up close and personal. To make matters worse, we’ve experienced not one, not two, but three power outages within the span of 30 minutes....ACROSS THE ENTIRE RESORT. And based on other reviews I’ve now read on Google and TripAdvisor, this is apparently normal for this resort. One of my guests had no power for the entire night. Can't even open your windows because the pest and mosquito control on this property simply doesn't exist. That’s unacceptable anywhere, let alone at a so-called “luxury” property. I’m literally still here while writing this review. That’s how bad it is. I couldn’t even wait to get home. I’ve never been more ready to leave a vacation early in my life. The current 4.1-star rating does not reflect the actual experience guests are likely to have. This has been, hands down, the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We booked diamond club and were on the second floor of building 7. Good view of the grounds and the ocean. The people are what make the experience. There are small things that need to be updated or fixed in the rooms, but it did not detract from our experience. The app is not that great and not always updated with the latest info, so make sure you check the activity board up front. We have pictures, taken for us, that made the trip even more special. I do recommend the private dinner on beach for a romantic time with your partner.
