I came to this resort expecting a high-quality, adults-only experience, especially after spending a significant amount of money and traveling across the world with my cousin. I genuinely tried to keep an attitude of gratitude, but the truth is the service and overall stay were deeply disappointing. From the moment I arrived, the service was inconsistent, slow, and far below what an international, luxury-branded resort should offer. The food was poor every single day — bland, low quality, and absolutely not reflective of the price point. When you’ve invested this much, you’re expecting an elevated experience, not cafeteria-level meals. What frustrated me even more is that the resort advertises itself as adults-only, but that was simply not true. There were children everywhere — at breakfast, walking through the entertainment spaces, and even in shared shopping areas. An imaginary line separating the “adult” and “family” sides does nothing. If a resort markets itself as adults-only, it should actually deliver that experience. Otherwise, it’s misleading. On top of that, the evenings were incredibly dull. There was no adult entertainment or meaningful activities after 8 PM. For an adults-only resort, nighttime should feel alive, engaging, and tailored to adults. Instead, unless you count one sports bar, there was nothing to do. After a full week, the only consistently positive thing about this trip was the sunshine — and I certainly didn’t need to travel halfway across the world or spend this kind of money for that. I leave disappointed, and I hope the resort takes this feedback seriously. Guests deserve honesty in advertising and a level of service that matches the cost.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you travel frequently. Cons: • Every meal we had from the buffet to the restaurants weren’t good. The best option was the Asian restaurant and the food truck for lunch. • The service also wasn’t good at all. I’m Caribbean and have traveled to over 10 islands, but this is the first where I experienced extreme “island time”. Every worker took forever to come back to us for utensils, water, anything. • Tipping is the only way you’ll get good service. I started tipping first to guarantee us good service the rest of the trip. (I always tip but usually after the service, but not as a means to “bribe” good service from someone) • The rooms were also a bit outdated with the mattress feeling very old. Pros: • the view. The beach was absolutely beautiful and clean. • Nighttime entertainment is pretty funny as well. • resort is easily walkable • drop off/pick up for airport was seamless Note: The resort is far from the airport but that’s just how St. Lucia is. If you stay closer to the airport, you’ll still travel 45min+ to activities & vice versa, if you stay 1hour+ away.

Review of Hideaway at the Royalton St. Lucia I recently spent four nights at the Hideaway at the Royalton St. Lucia, and I can honestly say it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. For the price and reputation of this property, I expected a higher standard of service, food, and overall guest experience — unfortunately, it fell short in nearly every category. Food & Dining Experience: The dining options were extremely underwhelming. The buffet lacked both flavor and variety, offering the same selection every day with little to no local cuisine or seasoning. Even by all-inclusive standards, the food quality was poor. Service in the buffet hall was also frustrating — requests for basic items like napkins or utensils were often ignored or delayed for 20 minutes or more. The à la carte restaurants were equally disappointing. My experience at the steakhouse was particularly appalling when a roach crawled along the wall next to my table during dinner. The staff’s reaction was disturbingly casual — they simply moved me to another table with no apology or follow-up. Had I not been starving, I would have left immediately. The lack of edible food throughout my stay meant I ate the bare minimum just to get through the trip. Customer Service & Integrity: To make matters worse, I was misled by a staff member, Mauricio, who promised complimentary or discounted experiences (including a Chef’s dinner and a sunset cruise) in exchange for attending what he described as a short, 90-minute breakfast talk. I agreed, as I wanted to make the most of my 40th birthday trip. Not only did those promises go unfulfilled, but I later discovered the entire arrangement was a tactic to secure attendance for what turned out to be a timeshare-style presentation. The “Chef’s experience” was canceled last-minute, and the “complimentary” sunset cruise was never booked. Despite multiple confirmations from Mauricio, every promise he made turned out to be false. This deception wasted both my time and my birthday — an experience I had looked forward to celebrating. Accommodations & Cleanliness: The room quality and housekeeping also left much to be desired. The space was not consistently cleaned, and the resort’s app-based reservation system for restaurants and activities was either malfunctioning or deliberately unhelpful — everything appeared “booked” or “unavailable” for the duration of my stay. Overall Impression: This trip was meant to be a celebration of my 40th birthday, but it became a stressful and disappointing experience due to the poor food quality, lack of service, unfulfilled promises, and questionable business practices. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to manage expectations carefully or explore other resorts on the island that value honesty, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. Sincerely Jennifer Hartman Booked from 10/26-10/30

We stayed at the Royalton Santa Lucía, two Cuban couples living in the US, and we loved the resort. The service is excellent, and the drinks and food are delicious. The property is majestic and vast, very clean throughout, with magnificent pools and beaches. I loved the spa. The weather is very pleasant, warm like in my country. The shows with dancers are fantastic. They should have more entertainment activities after the shows, like after-shows and parties until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. We recommend the resort 100% and will definitely be back soon! 😘😘😘😘😍😍😍😍🩷🩷💗🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😄😄😄😄😄😄🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!

My son and I stayed in the Swim up room, which we love. Sitting out by the pool after a long day at the beach or before we started our day is always nice. The room could use some minor repairs, as there were some damage to the screen door, bathroom door, and the dresser was outdated. The room otherwise was comfortable and spacious. I also loved the showers. The pool and the beach was nice. The sand was soft and the water was warm. We did some snorkeling and kayaking which we enjoyed, and the view is stunning. This is a nice resort however, the food selection were bare. They never had anything. It didn't matter what time you came. And if you were late, you barely ate. One day for lunch I was stuck eating 2 drum chicken wings (thumb size) and salad. When you went to the bars for drinks, they were alway out of something. You had to either walk around to different bars to finish making up your drink or come with at least 2 other suggestions. The food truck had specials of the day listed, but they were never able all but 1 out of the 7 days I was there. The staff was friendly, but frustrated with the situation at hand. Lastly, for the 7 days we were there, the kids play ground and pool was closed the whole time. Thank goodness my son is older and can swim well. I've been to several Royalton Resorts and was really happy with my experience. This time I was really disappointed in this location. I while I would return to St. Lucia, I wouldn't stay at this location again. Oh and it was 3 hours trying to get to the hotel from the airport due to some political thing causing a ton of traffic. You can opted to take a helicopter and save some time.
