My honest review sofar we are currently 3 days into our 7 day stay. We were not offered any kind of " upgrade" We have done the 2hr not 1.5hr time share pitch, but they were not pushing at the end, as others have stated, they took no for a answer and still offered what they promised. Line ups for restaurants are not as bad as people have described in other reviews but no reservation are required as the system has changed, so that could be why. All the staff have been very polite with us. This was our first time to mexico. Based on our trip so far I would recommend it and may have to return.

I stayed at this resort from November 21–27 to celebrate my birthday with my wife and kids. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. There wasn’t a warm or welcoming feeling upon arrival, and the check-in process was slow and unorganized. We waited a long time for our luggage, which prevented us from enjoying the pool and ocean on our first afternoon. Communication was also difficult, as many staff members spoke very limited English, so if you don’t speak much Spanish, you may run into challenges. The elevators are very small, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with strollers—it can get tight quickly. The beaches were disappointing. Each morning, there was leftover trash from the night before—cigarette butts, plastic cups, beer bottles—and the area didn’t seem to be cleaned or refreshed. The beach and pool chairs also appeared to be left exactly where guests had moved them the previous day. The pools were quite cold, which made it uncomfortable to swim, especially for younger kids; even my two-year-old kept saying the water was too cold. Staffing also seemed to be an ongoing issue. Bars and coffee shops were consistently understaffed, resulting in long lines—not something you want to deal with while on vacation. The food was another major disappointment. The food halls offered very limited quality, and we struggled to find meals we enjoyed. For breakfast, we ended up paying extra to eat at a separate restaurant—one we technically didn’t have access to—just to start our mornings with a decent meal. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean and several others in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and this was by far the most underwhelming experience. While a few of the specialty restaurants served meals we did enjoy, there were still long lines for lunch and dinner at most places. Overall, I would not recommend this resort, particularly for families with young children. Do yourself a favor and consider other options.

A low-key, family-focused all-inclusive. Do not book here if you are seeking discos, nightlife, or a party atmosphere. The service shines at two key spots: The excellent coffee shop, staffed by truly friendly and kind ladies, and the Sports Bar, which has an exceptionally great bartender. Ideal for peace, not parties.

1/5 – Disappointing experience, poor management, not tourist-friendly Our stay at Royal Grand Oasis Cancun was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Let me be very clear first: I fully respect the bellboys, housekeeping staff, waiters, cooks, and ground-level employees. They work hard. This review is not about them. This review is about pathetic management, lack of professionalism, and poor guest experience. The hotel room smelled like a gutter. That alone set the tone for the stay. The biggest issue: language and discrimination by neglect. This place clearly caters only to Spanish-speaking guests. If you don’t speak Spanish, you are treated like a second-priority guest. Communication was a constant struggle, requests were misunderstood or ignored, and we were sent from one person to another with zero accountability. Food was nothing like advertised. • No proper reservation system • Over 1 hour waiting in food lines • No professionalism • Vegetarian options were almost nonexistent (my wife and child struggled with pasta and salads only) Hygiene was questionable. At one pizza counter, birds were eating the food (I will attach a video). Frankly, if this is what we can see, I don’t want to imagine what’s happening in the kitchen. Both my child and I suffered stomach pain after eating there. We nearly missed our flight because management booked a taxi on the wrong date via email, and nobody took responsibility. Zero ownership. Zero urgency. The Captain Cook water show was another disappointment. We were told it would be in English. Reality? 95% Spanish, 5% English. We paid $200 per person and understood almost nothing. One full evening wasted. The only positive memory? The calm ocean. It’s beautiful, shallow, and walkable. That’s it. One thing. Check-in itself was a nightmare. A family booking via Expedia was told their reservation existed but still needed “documents from Expedia.” That is not a guest problem. After 4 hours, and only after escalating to higher management, it got resolved. This stay was a pain from beginning to end. Waste of money. Waste of time. Waste of energy. I usually don’t write reviews like this, but hotels need to hear the truth. There are much better places in Cancun. Do your due diligence, read reviews carefully, and think twice before booking here—especially if you don’t speak Spanish or if you’re traveling with family. This hotel desperately needs new management. With the current attitude and systems, long-term sustainability looks doubtful.

We stayed at the Grand Oasis Palm as a group of nine (two families of four plus a single), and while a couple of staff members at the sister resort were fantastic, the overall experience at this resort was disappointing. Rooms & Reservation Issues Rooms were extremely small and nothing like the photos online. Out of our three rooms, one never had hot water. When we asked about upgrading—fully willing to pay the difference—we were told it wasn’t possible because we hadn’t originally booked two separate reservations. There was also very limited seating around the pool, and no covered indoor area with tables/chairs to relax in, which was a problem during the first rainy days. Food, Drinks & Service Lines for food and drinks took far too long, and the drinks were wildly inconsistent from bar to bar. One night in the sports bar, the bartender took only half of our group’s order and then simply moved on mid-order. As English-speaking guests, we often felt overlooked compared to Spanish-speaking guests. The sports-bar arcade was mostly non-functional, with many games turned off or broken. Beach & Grounds One day someone pooped in the ocean, and it floated near the shore. Also, buses physically cannot fit onto the property, so drop-off and pickup happen on the street, not at the entrance, which isn’t ideal when arriving with luggage or kids. Positives Adult-sized towels were a nice touch, and at the sister resort Sens, Adrian at the bar and Hervin on the beach were absolutely outstanding—genuine highlights of our trip. Overall Too many issues to recommend. While the staff at the Sens property were amazing, the Grand Oasis Palm needs major improvements in room quality, service consistency, and basic guest comfort.
