Disappointing Experience at Grand Oasis Hotel While the resort itself is beautiful, with a fantastic beach and pool area, my stay at the Grand Oasis Hotel was disappointing due to several issues with the room and service. Check-in was smooth, and I initially asked if the band I was given meant I was all-inclusive. I was told it did, as it would allow me access to food and drinks. However, things started to go downhill when we entered our room. As soon as we walked down the hallway, there was a noticeable smell of mold, and it only got worse once we entered the room. The room itself appeared clean, but it had a strong moldy odor, and the TV didn’t work. When we went to eat at a restaurant, we were told that it wasn’t included with our band, and I had to pay for the meal. At that point, I was too tired and hungry to argue, so I just paid. Afterward, we went to guest services to clarify the all-inclusive options, and that’s when we were informed there are three different types of all-inclusive packages at the resort—something that was never explained to us upon check-in. It was only after paying for the meal that we decided to upgrade our bands so we could access all the resort’s areas. The food at the buffet was consistently cold, and there weren’t many options for pescatarians. Buffet breakfast wasn’t great, but lunch and dinner were the worst. I often had to make a reservation at a restaurant to get a decent meal. The next issue came with the shower. It was clogged, and the water overflowed into the bathroom, creating a mess. The mold smell persisted, and I had to use shower shoes because I didn’t feel comfortable stepping barefoot in the shower. The shower also didn’t have doors, which made the situation even worse. We reported the problems to customer service, and while they were polite, nothing was done to address the issues. It took four days for the TV to finally start working, and no one ever came to fix the shower. We just learned to manage it by turning the water on and off to prevent the overflow, but it never fully stopped. The resort staff were lovely, and I have to say the outdoor areas like the pool and beach bars were great. Unfortunately, the rooms are outdated and in need of major repairs. We spent most of our time outside, avoiding the room unless it was time to sleep. Overall, while the location and amenities outside were nice, the room conditions, lack of communication about the all-inclusive options, and disappointing food left a lot to be desired.

This was a fun and lively resort! It felt as though the occupants were perhaps 50% local Mexicans vacationing with their families, and 50% international travelers. Their focus is on being a family resort with options for everyone. They had different live music each night, usually from 9-11. Yes, you will hear it in your room - but you shouldn't plan on vacationing here for quiet, you should plan on getting out and participating! If that's not so much you, bring noise canceling headphones. Food was alright. I do wish they would label each dish for allergens.

Our experience at the Oasis Palms Cancun was one to remember, but not in a good way. When we first arrived check in took about an hour and a half waiting in line and then we didn't even receive our keys. We had to come back in about 45 minutes for the keys to be ready because the wait was so long. Shortly after that, we were approached with an "opportunity" to receive a "VIP" breakfast, a free 25-minute massage, and a ticket to an all-adult pirate boat excursion if we attended a 90-minute presentation. We reluctantly agreed for the free items. After retrieving our room keys, we headed to our room to find out they had put us in the wrong room. We then headed back to the front desk and got switched to the right room. When we got to the correct room, we were greeted with a "not so clean" room. We went to wash our hands, and the sick water came out BROWN. The covers are paper thin, the air conditioning panel does not work, and the fridge takes about 8 hours to "cool" anything down. We ended up asking for extra blankets because it was so chilly but could not use them because they were dirty. Side note, we also got woken up every morning to extremely loud construction that continued for hours into the day. We then proceeded with our day where you need to make reservations at the restaurants for dinner. Unfortunately, only about half of the restaurants on premise are "free" to the Oasis Palms guests. The food leaves something to be desired. After the day ended, we went to bed, when we were woken up shortly after to the entire resort losing power and the room becoming extremely hot. My husband went to the front desk to figure out what was going on and was told "It is a general issue and it's nothing to be concerned about." It took about 2 hours for the power to come back on. The next day we headed to the presentation. We spent 3 AND A HALF HOURS saying no repeatedly and just getting passed on to other individuals trying to sell the same time share. We then finally got released after saying it had been over 3 and a half hours, and we went about our day. We headed to lunch where the servers are very nice at first, but will try to sell you an upgraded dinner at an extra cost. After politely declining, the servers will snuff you off and treat you like absolutely nothing. They won't even look in your direction or respond to you saying "thank you" after saying no. After lunch, I started to not feel great, and the rest is history. I got food poisoning and spent the rest of the trip in the room, throwing up and using the restroom. We then had to miss this "Pirate boat" excursion because I could not leave the room. My husband luckily had a successful time going to the bars, but do not drink the ice! We knew this from the beginning and didn't drink any water (Unless bottled) and no ice in drinks, but I still managed to get extremely sick. Be careful when ordering from the bars because some of the bartenders won't serve you if you are not in your "allotted area" even though it's on the same property. Same thing with the beaches. They will tell you to get up and move into your designated area, which is not posted anywhere. To sum it up, stay away from this resort. The beach is pretty, and the drinks were decent but that is probably about the only good things we could say. We will not be returning to the Oasis franchise.

It was our first time in Cancun and it was not at all what I expected. This place is a joke! Other then the nice employees I do not recommend this place to anyone!!! The food was horrible, reservations were hard to get to a decent place to eat . Buffett made my husband sick and I didnt get sick because I would not eat that crap they had out. We were very disappointed in our time here at Oasis Palm. Our room smelled like mold and the shower flooded the bathroom every time someone showered. The shower clogged up and didn't drain so you were standing in 3 inches of gross water when you were showering. You only got some nasty tasting coke or sprite when you wanted soda in the " all inclusive" but you had to pay for coke and sprite in the can to be sent to the room then it never arrives. Just very disappointed in all of it. Then minute you arrive to check in they will tell you that your room is not ready yet and so you wait BUT they have people waiting on you to try to get you to buy the packages for excursions " while you wait for your room" . just remember " ALL INCLUSIVE DOES NOT MEAN " ALL INCLUSIVE" HERE.

This hotel should be a 2 star hotel maximum. The worst experience we have ever had in terms of service, if there was a zero star I would have voted zero. We left after 1 night on a 6 night stay and moved to another hotel. The rooms are older and beat up compared to what is visible online and the location is next to the bridge to downtown Cancun, you dont want to be there. I'm giving that a 2 because we saw on google where it was just didn't know the area would be so run down, on the highway and poor. Hotel was full of locations from Mexico, this is where they vacation and most reviews for this hotel have been positive I have been reading. If your coming from a destination outside Cancun you have 50 better options, do not stay here.
