Pools are always cold, so no one really uses the swim up bars. Food great. Workers great, communication not so good. Maps and paper copies of amenities would be helpful. Very large resort. Many languages heard from all the different holiday folks. Probably over 2000 employees. Lots of walking, gigantic place.

Great service in restaurant Colonial. Ana Iris Diaz, our server was excellent. She was so friendly and upbeat while still doing her job. The room cleaning was good except every day was a fight at the desk for linens. One day 1 hand towel and always had to ask for wash cloths. Never any left. Stool under sink was full of dust. There were two of us.
Otherwise all amenities were great. We hope to be back. Thank you.

We stayed here with my bf for 3 days. I have no complaints about the property, everything is so well maintained. Clean rooms and common areas. Service was friendly and fast. We liked the choice of food, especially Seafood a la carte. Beach has a lot of beds and shade. Ocean is not the best, lots of rocks when you go in.

Raul Castillo and Vanessa Izquierdo were both so friendly and attentive at the Colonial buffet. Great personalities and smiles for me and all of their guests. Would be happy to have them as my servers again.

We will not return.
The beach was beautiful and a highlight of our trip. The pools were nice, but cold in February.
A family of 8 could not dine together at a single a la carte as they only have tables of 4 and will not accommodate more than 4. The reservations are made by the staff so the restaurants and times are chosen for you (which could be 9pm). Service at the pool and on the beach was non-existent to us. Although I did see some guests receiving drinks at the pool, we were never offered.
We booked Tropical Premium with my family but were moved to Colonial so we just met in the middle, the resort is massive so there's a lot of walking.
The room was not clean and wreaked of must and mold. I know musty rooms are common in Mexico from the humidity, I've experienced it before, but this was on another level.
The couch/daybed the room had for my almost 5yo son was the size of a crib, not a standard sized couch like we saw in the photos before booking at Tropical. There was mold under the couch cushion so he slept with us.
The buffet had lots of fresh fruit which was great but the buffet alltogether was mediocre. The a la cartes were hit and miss, we had good meals and bad meals.
The last 2 nights we were there, they had private functions in the open air restaurants by the pool with pounding music until 5am. I mean super loud, obnoxious, pounding music. There was no option to leave the screen door open for a breeze those nights.
They take pride in their property grounds, its very clean, well kept and beautiful. People smoke everywhere (besides the restaurants). Designated smoking areas are not enforced so if you're sensitive to smoke, it could be an issue for you. There were cigarette butts all over the beach.
As I mentioned before, the beach is stunning and pools are big and fun.
We booked here (Tropical premium, not Colonial) because of the reviews and recommendation by my travel agent. Our son had a blast at the splash parks. But between not being able to dine with our family, the all night private functions with zero regard for other guests, and moldy rooms.. it was a one time visit for us.
