We absolutely love coming to Barceló! Everything is always so cozy, neat, and perfectly clean. We’ve been coming here for 10 years, and each year the service somehow gets even better! One of the highlights of our stay is enjoying the buffet, and we want to give special thanks to Saul Perez, Francisco (with big heart and smile), and Jose Arcos. These gentlemen work incredibly hard and go above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable every single day. They are not only professional, but also genuinely friendly and kind. Their dedication and warm personalities truly make our experience unforgettable. Thank you for everything — we can’t wait to come back again!

I recently visited this resort with my family of 14 to celebrate a birthday. As soon as we arrived, we made reservations for four of the specialty restaurants. Unfortunately, none of them could accommodate us together. Even the small children were seated separately across the restaurant, which made the experience uncomfortable. If you are traveling with a family larger than six, I would not recommend this resort. No one made any effort to help us or offer alternatives, just a flat “this is our policy.” At no point during the reservation process were we informed of these seating limitations. We were so upset that we ended up leaving one of the restaurants altogether, as our kids had been seated with strangers. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience for a large family. There was no consideration or attempt at accommodation, which left us feeling frustrated and excluded. Please think twice before booking this resort if you are planning to travel as a big group.

Great resort. There are so many resorts and you can enjoy most of the pools and grills and activities! The kids activities kept our littles engaged and they really liked Susana Ovando, Sarahi Martinez and Zaira Huitzil at the Barcy Club in Colonial. The rooms are a little outdated. And would like to see a little bit of upgrades here considering they are calling it a 5 star resprt online.

One star for overall experience as this hotel is not equipped to handle large groups. We were a family of 14 and not once, ever where we able to sit together at any dining room. NOT EVEN HIBACHI! If you are a large family over 6 that wants to dine together this property is not it. Even when splitting up the family into tables often times the family is sat on the other side of the room. This includes buffet style AND specialty dining with reservations even with parties of children. Vacations for us is suppose to bring us together and we do that mostly during meals. There’s something special about sharing your plate that we just missed out on completely here. I will not book Barceló again because of this. The lack of empathy shown by the reservation agent and lack of information up front on seating arrangements when we booked our dinners is also another reason why the one star. It completely soured our trip.
