Fabulous family hotel. Excellent location. The Beach is next to the hotel and further beaches and coves within 10/15 mins walk. The coastal walk, right outside the hotel, is perfect for pram walks/exercising. The hotel beach is large with climbing frames and plenty of room to play beach games. The sea was calm but around the corner the sea got really cropping and the waves are spectacular to watch.
The hotel/ground and nearby amenities are all wheelchair/pram accessible.
All the staff are AMAZING, efficient yet easy going and friendly. The kids club is brilliant. We’ve never used a kids club before but my 4 year old took to it immediately and ushered me to leave him on his own as he was made to feel welcomed straight away. Parents are welcome to join the kids club with younger children or stay with their older children if they wish. I joined them for a nature trail/adventure where the kids made animal spotting books and then as we did a coastal walk they drew animals which they saw. Lovely morning. There are lots of activities throughout the day to suit all ages.
We slept great, the beds are so comfy and the hotel is quiet and relaxing.
The hotel is very clean and well kept.
The room keepers were so lovely and serviced our room daily as they knew we were a family with small children who were potty training.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Very organised with plenty of staff moving things along. We opted for bed and breakfast but perhaps should have gone all inclusive as the local restaurants we tried were nothing special.
The only thing that we didn’t like about the hotel was the salt water in the pools. The pools and pool area are great but the salt water stung our boys eyes and they like snorkelling around a pool which they didn’t want to do in the salt water. But that’s just our preference.

Overall a brilliant stay. The location was very good and having a beach right outside was perfect. Hotel itself was clean and well maintained. Service on the front desk was also excellent and welcoming but the dining room not so much. Rooms were great although bathroom was looking a little dated. Would recommend!

Below expectations... very below. For the price you pay u don t get the quality. Especially food... unfortunately often quite disappointing. Only thing I will save is the personnel. I surely won t come back.
Edit
After the replay from the hotel I feel about adding some details that maybe can help other customers to make a more conscious choice before booking and the hotel perhaps to improve...
The all inclusive package has some strange formula where there are different levels of all inclusive (I have never seen it before). If you get the lower all inclusive package you don t get certain foods and you don t get anything in the minibar which translate with you having to go to the supermarket to buy just water. The choice in terms of fruits (a basic food when you are on vacation) is cheep, you can get apples, kiwis and bananas... if you want watermelon and strawberrys you better upgrade 😉. You will have to wait in line for every meal cause you can t just get a table for yourself but it has to be assigned by a team of waiters... again having to wait on vacation is annoying. You get 2 tokens to eat in probably the only 2 good restaurants of the entire facility... but don t worry you won t eat there cause they are always fully booked so good luck. Maybe I am too exigent when it comes to food... but when you are on a vacation and u pay premium you expect the full service and here I have tried the cheapest food quality you can possibly imagine. I hope you will improve...

Just back Saturday having been many times to this hotel it was sad to see how it has gone downhill a little. The room was a little grubby in places compared to previous stays before refurbished, entertainment not as good, plus no after disco, pool entertainment boring, no water polo only fitness… Momo was absolutely brilliant, funny entertaining.
Food was below average, pork every night plus poor selection of fish or stews… best food I had was the soup…
Staff still very friendly in all parts of the hotel
In all the hotel looks beautiful and is. But it does need some improvements to get back to where it was.
As an all inclusive hotel the drinks are poor compared to previous stays

Absolutely loved our holiday stay at The Barceló. By far one of the best hotel resorts we have stayed at. We booked an upgrade on the room so had our own terrace and whirlpool. Room was huge and so comfortable. All inclusive plus offered us premium wines and spirits and a separate dining area in the main dining room. Loads of sun beds at the pool so we were never deprived of one. The Brazilian and Mexican restaurants are amazing. Overall we were treated so well by all the staff and Javier the assistant manager was very good at his job and went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one. We liked it so much that we will be coming back in early 2024 with our daughter and her family. 👍🏼👌🏼
