The Barceló Fuerteventura Mar is a superb choice for a holiday in the Canaries. Lovely hotel. Very clean. Good entertainment. Always a sunbed available. Beautiful warm pools with a jacuzzi. Great for adults and families. No need to dress up too glamorous or wear heels. If you are half board nip over the road to buy large bottles of water they only supply 2 small bottles plus tea coffee etc in the first night. The gym is just outside the complex you need to book a session on the app. Downside - we didn't particularly like the food very bland chips undercooked plus they've positioned all the dishes here there and everywhere, you have to search for everything. For example porridge is in 3 places but no bowls near it then you have to search for your spoon

We had a decent stay at this hotel, especially considering the price we paid. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough, but they were quite noisy. You can hear people stomping around in the rooms above, guests and staff running and talking loudly in the hallways, and occasionally even shouting. There’s a nightlife street right next to the hotel, which you can hear pretty well, but luckily it quiets down relatively early. We booked half-board, and the food was okay for what you pay. Breakfast was fine, and dinner was tasty for one night. However, if the hotel varied the dinner menu more, I think they could easily get higher ratings. They could also improve by switching from the paper receipt system to a digital one — it would be better for the environment, more convenient for both guests and staff, and even things like the wristbands could be made more sustainable. The pools were nice. One was heated and the other wasn’t, which gave a good option depending on your preference. Overall, we had a good stay — we just expected a bit less noise.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here recently and honestly, the service was flawless from the moment we walked in. The staff Paixao and Sebastian were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our experience special. Every detail was considered – from checking for dietary preferences to ensuring our drinks were always topped up without needing to ask. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, and our server struck the perfect balance between being friendly and professional. You could tell the team worked seamlessly together and truly enjoyed what they do – it made all the difference. Massive compliments to the kitchen too – every dish came out beautifully presented and packed with flavour. We didn’t feel rushed at any point and left feeling well looked after and very happy. Truly top-tier service – thank you for such a wonderful evening.

All the staff are very welcoming but Carlos in the pool bar is a great asset to your team. He always has a pleasant manner and provides excellent service. He ensures all his staff work well together. He likes to engage with everyone and treat everyone on a personal level.. which makes the holiday experience even better

The hotel and staff are lovely. It's very clean and relaxing. The food was pretty good, although not having tea or coffee included at lunch or evening meal is a bit strange. We also booked for the Brazilian restaurant, which we thought was terrible. We did express our thoughts to the staff and this was dealt with very well. The entertainment in the hotel in the evenings was very good. We would definitely stay again.
