I stayed at this hotel recently and while there were a few highlights, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the 5-star label or the price point. The best part of the stay was definitely the location—central and convenient for getting around. The pool area was also a standout: spacious, relaxing, and perfect for sunbathing. However, the service and overall upkeep of the hotel were disappointing. Breakfast, in particular, was a letdown. It’s not that there weren’t options, but the cooked food was dry and practically inedible. There were no fresh choices (besides eggs), and surprisingly for a 5-star hotel, not even a fresh coffee was available—just basic machine coffee or coffee which was sent around the room so inevitably sitting in the jug for long periods making it undrinkable. Housekeeping was another major issue. Toiletries weren’t replenished, dirty cups were left behind, towels were taken but not replaced, and requests to change the bedsheets were ignored. It really didn’t feel like any care or attention was put into the daily room cleaning. On top of that, the rooms themselves are showing their age and would really benefit from a refresh. All in all, while there were enjoyable elements to the stay and the hotel was still lovely, the poor service and lack of basic standards made it feel far from the luxury experience it promised. Not worth the premium price in my opinion.

Thought I would update my review as I've stayed here a few times since my last review many years ago. This is my go-to place when I come down to Vilamoura. It's central to the main strip of restaurants around the marina and backs onto the beach club. Everywhere is walkable from here, so you won't need your car, which can be parked securely during your stay. The entrance is quite nice, with lots of different entry/exit points to help you get in and out conveniently for a stroll. The pool area is vast with heaps of sun loungers, so you don't have to run to secure your spot, unless you want to be directly in front of the pool. The pool bar is well-stocked but definitely on the pricey side for both food and drinks. I guess it's the price you pay for convenience at such a nice location. The pool restaurant has some great options, but the buffet breakfast is kind of ordinary, to be honest. Expectations were higher for the price you pay. Overall, the rooms are great, clean, and somewhat spacious, although with so much to do, it’s really just a bed to sleep in most of the time.

We are staying here at the moment on honeymoon and cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff are absolutely excellent. The Argo bar has the best waiters/waitresses we have ever come across. One week is not enough.

Loved the hotel and the location was excellent. We had a Puro Beach room overlooking the marina which was lovely. We only had breakfast which was very nice, good choice & food was hot. Checking in & out could be netter as we waited a while on both occasions. When checking out our cards were taken from us and the staff member just said 'thank you'. Didn't ask if we had a good time, which I thought was a bit rude. Would definitely recommend

Great location, view of the marina from one side and view of the pool/beach from the other. Beds are comfy. I stayed in two rooms - the first (429) was end of corridor and the service lifts were just behind the head of the bed - noisy until well past midnight and started again before 6. At my request the hotel moved me to the centre of a different floor for my remaining two nights. The hotel is generally quite noisy - concrete and glass being unforgiving at noise absorbing. Seeing two rooms made me realise there are a few niggles with maintenance - nothing severe but just a bit tired - some things worked better in one room than the other, small differences in both. Food was good throughout my stay - standard high class fancy, but still mass catering. Breakfast choice was excellent. We had a conference for about 150 and the adjoined conference centre is good for that purpose. Staff were good, impressive standard of English. Overall a good business hotel but not the absolute best I've stayed in.
