It's supposed to be an all-inclusive resort, but it felt more exclusive than inclusive. Their website says "unlimited reservation free dining," but the only restaurant that is reservation free is the buffet and cafe. All of their other restaurants require a reservation and you can only sign up during specific hours. Also, the hostess of the Italian restaurant told us that our reservation would cancel right after our designated time slot. So, even though the rest of the resort is on "island time," if you're a minute late then the reservation is cancelled. On the app it said we had 15 minutes, but not according to the hostess. Additionally, you couldn't reserve certain hours of some of the restaurants unless you paid extra to be a "diamond" member. But diamond members didn't have the same access we had as "elite" members. Everything just seems segregated for something that is supposed to make people feel included on everything.
Overall, we went for a wedding, and it was a beautiful wedding. The bride and groom stayed on the family side of the resort which was oddly more fun than the adult side. Unless you're going to be wasted the whole time, the family side is more entertaining. However, the bride and groom wanted to walk over to the adult side (because most of the wedding party had booked with the adults only side) and staff had told them that they weren't allowed to. The crazy part is that they were paying thousands of dollars for this wedding and even paid extra to be diamond status, but because they had black wristbands instead of gold ones, they were told that they couldn't swim on our side. We were also told that we couldn't temporarily remove the wristbands for wedding photos, because they cost so much to replace if you lose them. ($120 per wristband.)
My mother-in-law attempted to make reservations for water sports too. She was told at booking that these would be included; however, when she arrived and attempted to make the reservation, the staff told her that this was unavailable due to the hotel being "between vendors." My family also attempted to sign up for snorkeling, but then when we came back with everyone ready (maybe an hour later) we were told that we could no longer snorkel because the waves were now too choppy. (Which could be true, they can't control the ocean, it just kept happening that we wanted to reserve something and then it fell through.)
In the end, we're happy that we went because we got to be present for the wedding. But we won't be going back there.

Let me start off on a great note by saying the only two highlights of my trip were my best friend’s wedding and the service from the staff at this resort. Tanya (housekeeping), Kadier (bartender by pool), Milton (DJ and entertainment), Zaria (pool entertainment), the remaining pool bar staff and ESPECIALLY Micheal made our trip special. This resort is average at best though. The entertainment is lacking and the food is average, not always very tasty. Coming to Jamaica and not getting authentic Jamaican cuisine cooked as it should be is disappointing. The best meal I had was at the Hibachi restaurant. I wish I could have eaten there every night but it is mission impossible trying to get a reservation even after paying for Diamond Club privileges which most of us attending the wedding did and faced similar struggles. When we arrived at our hotel the room was clean but the bathroom was not, our toilet still had urine stains on it I’m assuming from the previous guest because it was dry. Tanya came to our room quickly to clean the bathroom and separate our beds because we requested two yet walked in to see one. I don’t think it was her job because a rude man named Travis showed up right after to do that job but wasn’t willing to help. Despite how rude he was to her in front of us, she continued to struggle to do get the job done with a smile and friendly demeanor. She was very sweet. Since I am on the topic of beds, I must say to pay as much as we did to have to sleep on twin size beds is also absolutely ridiculous and the beds are hard as rock, beyond uncomfortable.
On our second to last day our amazing butler Micheal was off from work, unfortunately it was also the one day I really needed the assistance of a butler due to the wedding but the resort did not assign us one to take Micheal’s place on his days off. We paid for Diamond Club privileges and only received it for half of our trip. Truthfully, money is owed to us for the lack of services paid for and not received by the resort. When we asked to speak to a manager on 3 occasions the manager wasn’t around or was in meetings so no resolution was ever found.
I will end this again on a good night because I must talk about how amazing Micheal was. He was kind and nothing but smiles during our time with him. He was genuine and very clearly cared about his job and his guests. Working in hospitality myself, I was very appreciative of his service to us. He even went out of his way to get authentic beef patties and coco bread for us from off of the resort. I hope that he is showered with praise from management and each of his guests on a consistent basis because he was the best part of this resort. I wouldn’t return but thank you Micheal for everything that you did for us, a little goes a long way!

5 night stay. Enjoyed our time. We did have 1 morning with water and AC issues but it was short lived and we were in a room with a connecting door which was odd (we probably cud have asked to move) but only heard neighbors once. Pools were great and the vibe on pool deck was great for young adults all the way to senior citizens.. We had really no issues with chairs on pool or beach, always found some. Food overall was good, I mean some is not upper class like the buffet isn't top notch food but really it was pretty good every time we went. Others are really good as we really enjoyed the steakhouse and the Italian place. Nightly entertainment was actually pretty good. The staff was really great, bar servers, to the bell hops right when you arrive. I actually got to really enjoy interacting with a few of them on a daily basis. Beach was pretty good, they work on it all day and it stays clean and we enjoyed it. I'm sure some resorts around might be more top scale, but really we enjoyed our time here and had fun every day!

We booked this trip as a 50th anniversary family gathering for my parents. We were a group of 20 people spread between the Hideaway and the family friendly side (Royalton blue waters) The reason why we booked this property was that it is supposed to be a Marriott Autograph Collection property and we had positive experiences with Marriott in the past. This was the worst all-inclusive resort we have ever been to. We travel to at least one every year, and we have been to Jamaica twice before this on other properties with no issues. This didn't feel like a vacation.
Check In: From the moment we were in line for check-in we felt unwelcome. I was standing there for 20 minutes and this lady jumped in front of me in line and the receptionist took her right away and kept me waiting. Then the receptionist decided to walk off to show some other guests a room, while I was still waiting in line. She did not return for another 10 minutes or so and then went back to helping other guests yet again. Seeing my frustration another receptionist came to help. 30 Minutes later we got our room.
Pools & Outdoor Entertainment: The pools were nice and maintained well. The servers by the pool were nice. The entertainment team by the pool was rude and shaming people who were actually participating in their activities.
Safety: The overall safety of the property had me concerned. That elevator should not have been operating at the Hideaway. It was an accident waiting to happen.
Check Out: Upon check out, the same Elite Member who got escorted to pay for wine before they served it, was accused of not paying for the wine at check out, even though it is THEIR policy not to allow guests to charge things to their room.
Service: Every single staff with the exception of 2-3 were rude. Most of them made it very apparent that they wanted tips and they made it seem like they were doing you favors by simply doing their job. The front desk never answered the phone. Anytime you reported an issue it as never corrected. If it was corrected, it took multiple complaints and us getting angry.
This resort is not worthy of the Marriott name and is not worthy of your time and money. Avoid it at all costs!

1st trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲. It was fantastic! We had 2 butlers Anthony & Willard, they were exceptionally courteous and professional. Resort was clean. We ate well at the restaurants and buffet. Water aerobics with Travis & Kadijah was 5star. The pool was clean, cabanas were soooo relaxing.
