Beautiful resort! Rooms were large and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The entertainment was plentiful for all family members. Food was repetitive and quality could have been slightly better. Drinks were great! Long drive to and from airport. Would revisit but would like to see other nearby resort options.

Barbi Pond
This resort is an hour and a half away from the Montego Bay airport if you have private transportation, if you're on a bus with people from other resorts it takes over 3 hours after you stop at everyone on the way. The food was not that great in the buffet and we were only able to get reservations at one restaurant and we had diamond club with a butler. I was VERY disappointed. We did have good food when we ordered from the beach while in our rented cabana. If you rent a cabana and want to use your resort credit, make sure to tell them ahead of time and keep proof (text etc) or they will charge full price when you check out. We had a swimout suite in building 2. The water was cold and we had no sun but I'm sure it's because we visited the last week of February. When we checked in I mentioned to my butler the missing light above the tub in the middle of our room with exposed wires and was assured maintenance would take care of it. It in fact was not. THERE ARE NO WATER SPORTS as advertised at this resort! Free kayak, paddleboard were one of the reasons we chose this resort. Bottom line, this was the worst Royalton we've ever stayed in. We will not return. It's definitely NOT a five star resort.

Pros: - Staff is pleasant and polite. - Jerk hut is good. - Entertainment and music is great. They have nice variety of music and great reggae music. - Beach is well maintained. - Good security. - Ice cream is tasty. - Nice variety of food and drinks. - Rooms are big and spacious. Cons - Food is not fresh. - Poor food contamination practices. Each dish did not have its own separate serving spoon. - Service is a bit slow. - Desserts are not fresh. - Couldn’t use our swim out because the water was too cold and they were not cleaned properly. A bunch of leaves were in the pool. - Ground floor flooded during heavy rain. Rain was pouring from the ceiling in the outside dining room seating area. - Smell of marijuana is everywhere. You can even smell it in some of the rooms. I woke up to the smell of it at 5:45 on a Saturday morning. - Some places need to be plastered and a fresh coat of paint. - A/C in rooms was not working. They came three times and it still was not fixed. Low water pressure in showers. Room smelled moldy. - One of the kids in my group had a negative experience in the kid center with one of the children was behaving badly. - Check in was slow. We did not understand why they have an online check-in if we have to go through the process all over again when we arrive.

Royalton We returned from an excellent vacation at Royalton. To begin with, the resort is beautiful, with its architecture, its continuously maintained green areas, and the wonderful views of the turquoise sea before your eyes! On the other hand, the room is very large, well-decorated, and detailed. While it shows signs of wear, it's nothing serious and is still wonderful. The staff is loving, helpful, and polite, always attentive and smiling. The food is very good and full of options for everyone. During our time there, we toured the other resorts, and the Royalton stands out above the rest, simply because of the lounge chairs, the cabanas, and the beach. Nothing bad to say, I would definitely return! Go easy, relax, and enjoy!

We are currently on vacation week of a March 11-18 at Royalton Negril. We booked two rooms since we have 3 kids and we wanted to have them side by side. At first they didn’t have the availability but they managed to give us two side by side rooms the second day so we really appreciate it! Food at the buffet was good too with lots of options. Beach is super clean and you can see stingrays right in the shallow area… amazing!! Best thing about this hotel is the halal food options for us! This is our third time visiting Jamaica but first time being able to eat some halal meat at a resort. Chef Gary is incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to purchase halal meat just for us and have it prepared for us. If you are a Muslim family and want to enjoy halal food, make sure you ask for chef Gary. The management should make sure they take care of him because if I’m ever going back to the same resort, it would be because of him. The entertainment team was awesome as well! Very friendly and making sure everyone was having a good time. Jovi and Kavi from the entertainment team were great! 🙂. Thank you for working so hard. I would love to return!
