Update: I’m adding this because it speaks to customer service or lack there of. I mentioned mold and roaches in my review and got the same “stock response” that every other review got. 👀😅. Like I said they don’t care about guest experiences. Let me start with the positives:, the SPA and the Staff are AMAZING( to the point where they don’t belong here 😆. Let’s be clear they were the only staff on the property that were amazing), Nightly entertainment is on point, high energy and engaging. Nice beach, love the lounges and thatched “umbrellas”. Now for the reasons that THIS IS NOT a 5 Star Resort. Maybe at one time it was but not anymore. The food overall is subpar. There was some good food(you had to pay extra), nothing spectacular. We did the lobster and steak dinner, steak literally like rubber(this was the steak that was an up charge). Lobster and accompaniments were good. We did the Chefs Table, nice, great service but the food was just ok-compared to other Chef Table experiences. The other food ranged from awful to ok, same with the alcoholic drinks. Rooms were nice but dated. We had issues with our room. In one room the shower leaked really bad and there was mold, so it was unusable. In our other room we found 4 “roaches”. 2 may have been palmetto like but 2 were definitely Nasty Roaches. The staff’s attitude was very nonchalant, they did fumagate and scrub the shower and we didn’t see anymore. I was passed off to 3 different people and had to pull an apology out of the last “Guest Services” person I spoke with, Yaneriy. Mold and Roaches 🪳 met with nothing but a “shoulder shrug” from guest services. I didn’t ask for any compensation but you would have thought that something would have been offered but…The attitude and lack of customer service from the staff was actually mind blowing, which I get now days but to have the audacity to call yourselves 5 star is laughable. The staff, including Guest services literally acted like they could careless if we were there or not 🤷🏽‍♀️, which actually may be to their advantage because if things continue they won’t have to worry about people being there😅. Side note while in our swim-out pool, another couple started a conversation with me, initially to ask me how our experience had been. An older couple, extremely dissatisfied to the point where they were dreading the rest of their stay-wanted to leave but knew they wouldn’t get their money back. Now that’s sad, at a resort by the beach, sunny skies and dreading the rest of your stay…need I say more. Like I told the young lady at Guest Services, vacation is an extra and people have a choice as to where they stay and spend their money. Guest Royalton Bavaro didn’t get the memo.

This was the fourth year in a row that we went to an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. Our previous experience with other resorts was amazing, that's why we kept coming back. However, this experience was by far the worst amongst the four. I will mention all the details that i personally experienced, although i understand that it could be long and maybe boring for some of the readers. 1) When we entered into our room for the very first time, we noticed that that mini-bar had some used bottles in it. It was such a turn-off right off the bat. 2) Later that day when we went for some light lunch at the buffet; no server would come and take our drink orders for 20+ min. Ended up finishing up the food with no drinks. 3) The next day we ran out of towels early during the day. Had to call the front desk four times asking for extra towels with no luck. We ended up drying up my 7-year-old with hand towels. 4) The next day, the electronic lock of the entrance door to our room broke. Had to wait few hours for someone to come to look into it and fix it. Had to wait outside. 5) On day 3 we saw a roach in our room; therefore, had to call and ask for them to spray our room. 6) On certain days the bathroom would just smell awful (sewer smell). 7) They force you to use their app to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants, however the app doesn't allow you to make any reservations for parties who are not in the same room with you. Hence making it very difficult when you are traveling with extended family members or friends that stay in other rooms. 8) Their photography sales person saw us in the lobby and after a long negotiation we agreed on a deal and we made an appointment. After taking our pictures, their office would not honor the agreement between us and their sales person. Unreal... All in all, the service of this resort was so bad that i may not even go back to Punta Cana anymore.

We are currently staying at Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana, and I have to say the hotel is absolutely beautiful — just like in the pictures! Our check-in experience was very pleasant. The lobby is stunning, and everything went smoothly and comfortably thanks to Shester Leonardo, who has been with us since our arrival and has continued to assist us throughout our stay. The food has been delicious so far, and the rooms are super comfortable and spotless. The beach is incredibly clean and completely free of seaweed, which I really appreciate since it’s been an issue in many places in recent years. Everything feels easier and more relaxing when you have great staff and kind people like Shester around you. So far, everything has been truly pleasant and enjoyable. Overall, we’re having a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Punta Cana.

Starting with the pros, The entertainment overall was very good. All the bands were nice and Ricardo from entertainment was also good. Our butler Michael was excellent, and deserves a raise. He made all our reservations and even decorated the room for our birthday without us even asking. The property was beautiful and the staff was very friendly we had a very good time despite the negative reviews we saw online. Now for the cons, the housekeeping staff did not do a very good job of cleaning, the rooms were not dirty but could have been cleaner. Additionally the food could use some improvement. The Japanese restaurant was the best food we had, our chef Carlito and server Daniel were very nice. Additionally David from the Ocean Side restaurant was also very nice. All in all it was a good experience for the price, and I would recommend booking the diamond club for a great experience.

The Royalton Punta Cana is an incredible resort that truly has something for everyone. The breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing—there are several omelet chefs ready to make your eggs just the way you like them, plus a smoothie station to start your day fresh. After breakfast, you can stroll over for a latte, cappuccino, or even a coffee cocktail. The coffee here, sourced from Santo Domingo, is smooth and strong—absolutely delicious! From there, you can head straight to the beach with its gorgeous white sand and crystal-clear water, or enjoy one of the many pools, including the fun lazy river. The staff are always courteous, kind, and helpful, and what stood out to me is that they do this without expecting a tip (although tips are always appreciated). Security here is excellent as well—I felt completely comfortable leaving my things and phone on a beach chair without worry. Entertainment is lively and fun, with a special shoutout to Pandaboy and Ricardo, who go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a good time. Whether you’re looking for a fun, upbeat party vibe or just want to relax on the beach, this resort strikes the perfect balance. The lunch buffet is outstanding, and while the restaurants are just okay (I’d skip the tiramisu at the Italian restaurant), the overall food experience is very enjoyable. All in all, the Royalton Punta Cana is a fantastic family resort with an amazing staff, beautiful grounds, and plenty to do. I left relaxed, happy, and already planning my return! 🌴✨
