Great stay with minor room for improvement regarding maintenance ​ ​We overall enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Jandia Playa. It is a solid choice for a holiday in Fuerteventura, though there are a few small details that prevent a full 5-star rating. ​Dining (Half Board): The food was good and offered a nice variety throughout our stay. As expected in a popular resort, the dining hall gets quite busy and loud during peak times, but the quality of the meals was consistently good. ​Location & Facilities: The location is excellent, very close to the beautiful beach. The pool areas are lovely and well-maintained—a huge plus is that one of the pools is heated, which made swimming very comfortable. ​Entertainment & Activities: There is plenty to do: the hotel offers an arcade, billiard tables, a tennis court, and table tennis. The kids' animation program also provides good entertainment for families. ​Fitness Center: The gym itself is actually well-equipped. However, we were disappointed to find that half of the cardio machines were out of order during our entire stay. For a 4-star hotel, equipment should be kept in better working condition. ​Verdict: We had a lovely time, but due to minor issues with maintenance and equipment, we feel a 4-star rating is more accurate than 5. There is definitely some room for improvement in terms of upkeep, but we would still recommend it for the great location and pool area.

(I would like to add that I’ve dropped service to a 1 star on the last day as a member of staff has stolen my headphones) If you are planning to stay in the morro jable area, please avoid this hotel. A large majority of the staff have absolutely no understanding of English, when we arrived late due to the flight being delayed we were greeted and immediately had to spend over half an hour telling the front desk we didn’t want all inclusive. The hotel room keys are shocking within 5 nights, I’ve had to get them replaced 6 times. All and all an absolute headache and would be much better attending the SBH hotel nearby. Although I would like to add the cleaning staff are top class.

We stayed at this hotel for 15 days. The cleanliness is impeccable, our room was cleaned by Noemi, who was always extremely kind and thoughtful, making sure to clean while we were at breakfast, so we never had to wait. The staff are always very kind. We took advantage of the hotel spa twice for some exceptional massages! They asked us exactly what we wanted and recommended the most suitable massage for the second time (the bamboo massage). The masseuse, Dominika, was fantastic: very kind and highly skilled. She listened to my feedback and focused perfectly on all the right areas. The pain disappeared right after the massage session. Highly recommended to everyone!

We spent 2 weeks at the beginning of January 26 here in a suite on the Royal Level, this is what Barcello call there adult only offering. The hotel is a mixture of family friendly hotel on one side and adult only on the other unlike some supposedly adult only hotels we have been to with Jet2 this one understands the need to separate the two holiday styles and with the exception of the spa and the a la carte restaurant both of which you need to go thru the family friendly hotel to access succeeds very well. All of the staff were very friendly and polite, of special note were Marta and Crutian who single handedly ran the Patio Canaria restaurant, we chose to dine here every night we could ( it closes on a Tuesday and Wednesday to give the above days off) The food in the a la carte restaurant rotated thru 5 themed evenings, the service was always first class, while the food was not always a la carte it was better than the offering in the adult only buffet restaurant which was the alternative on the nights the Canaria was closed. The people in the buffet restaurant were always polite and efficient and doing their best with what can only be described as a mediocre food offering. The presentation of the food was always good due mainly to the fact that it was always the same, if this had been the only place to eat we would have gone out in the evening and purchased a meal in the local town. There were no theme evenings, the welcome drinks were left on the side for you to find them, the staff did their best without any direction that we saw from anybody managing the place. We had breakfast in the buffet restaurant, I asked for poached eggs one morning at the egg station, after 5 minutes I was presented with a plate swimming in water with the remnants of the two eggs, it just about summed the place up for me, such a shame for the waiting staff who as I have said where all very good but working against a poor offering due to the fact that nobody on the catering side seemed to have any passion or interest in what they were producing, I would have complained but there never seemed to be anybody in charge. Apart from the food offering we enjoyed our stay but I don’t think we would go back.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotless, and the surroundings are simply breathtaking. Every meal was a delight, and the staff were unbelievably friendly, always making us feel special. Waking up to the unforgettable views of the ocean and the sparkling azure water was like a dream. These were truly magical holidays — a place we already want to return to!
