This resort deserves definatelly at least 4+ stars. Very nice and beautiful hotel. The online reason why it does not have 4 Stars, is that there is no direct access to the beach, which is just across the street. The stuff is super friendly. Buffet has a big variety of local and international food. Delicious! Comfortable rooms, very clean. If you decide to come to Coin, you would not regret it. It just nothing wrong here. 💕

This has been the most amazing holiday ❤️ Highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Mauritius. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food is lovely. Every day has a different menu so you never get bored. The facilities are clean and there is plenty to keep you occupied. The island of Mauritius is magical and this hotel is definitely one to visit.

The hotel has the amenities applicable to its 3 star rating however lacks hygiene & good service. Our room was spacious with good washing facilities but had a shortage of clean insect free storage for clothing. It would benefit from a deep clean. We were located away from the pool so didn’t suffer the noise from that however it was close to the busy road & noisy. The main restaurant is mostly buffet service & can be extremely frustrating with serving platters often left empty without replenishment. There was a lack of regular monitoring of food levels & when empty platters were reported, there was still delay in their replenishment whilst food was prepared. Quality hotel buffets have staff checking levels & preparing food in anticipation of a refill. The food choices were reasonable, when available but some lacked flavour & quality. Service in the restaurant & bar areas was often very slow & haphazard. Staff were regularly seen congregating in groups & lacked peripheral awareness of waiting customers & some lacked knowledge of basic waiting skills. We addressed this with supervisory staff several times & received the same response, ‘it’s only their second day’. This apparent training on the job may explain some of the poor service issues. The majority of staff were friendly although some were surly & others looked unhappy in their environment. The All Inclusive option is irritating. Instead of some form of (environmentally friendly) wrist band to identify those on the AI package, guests give their orders to staff who write on a carbonated pad & when a guest leaves they have to sign for their orders on an itemised (zero balance) receipt. We found we often had to wait for the ‘bill’ to be prepared & delivered instead of just leaving when we wanted to. This rather outdated method appears to suit the hotel’s administration rather than favour its guests. It also creates considerable paper & ink wastage by the hotel. We also observed a fair amount of unnecessary paper usage by reception staff on a daily basis. Somewhat inefficient & hypocritical I feel due to the hotel’s regular mentioning of their ‘eco’ credentials. Bedrooms have a mini fridge described as a ‘mini bar’ for AI guests. However guests have to stock this themselves from the hotel’s shop. Something we’ve never experienced before. Neither have we experienced tea & coffee being loose in paper bags. The milk is powdered & also in a paper bag. According to the hotel it saves waste. In my opinion it’s cost cutting & unhygienic, with staff handling the teabags to count a few for each bag-as witnessed by us. The shop was at the opposite end of the resort & meant making an inconvenient journey to stock each day. There is a limit of only 2 bottles per person per day of either beer or a soft drink so if you’d prefer to have a drink in your room you’ll be limited. This is hardly ‘all’ inclusive as advertised. We observed several issues with cleaning & hygiene. For example, the drinking water dispenser at breakfast was dirty throughout our stay indicating poor cleanliness. The need for more hand sanitisers made available in & around the self service meal areas. Food baskets for packed lunches were dirty, (also no ice blocks or other method to keep meat filled sandwiches cool). The smoke detector in our room was caked with dust which would impact its efficiency. The above are all basic areas of simple hygiene that were clearly evident & should be regularly quality checked & addressed by staff. Hotel literature suggests an evening dress code. This is very tongue in cheek. Whilst most guests made an effort to comply with this policy some did not but were never challenged by staff. Neither were the guests smoking in the restaurant at dinner. What is the point of advertising ‘standards’ if they’re not enforced? We were grateful for an earlier check in & later departure, indicating a willingness by staff to accommodate their guests at times. Overall we were disappointed with our stay, however with some attention to detail & fine tuning this could be a very good hotel.

Julie
Friendly staff & were fortunate enough to check-in early, which was appreciated. Security staff were welcoming whenever we came into contact with them. The room had a partial ocean view but looked across a noisy road which wasn’t relaxing. It was large with a huge bed. The shower & bathroom area were spacious. There are only shelves & a hanging rail to place clothing which is concealed by some rather unpleasant looking sliding homemade curtains. There is a good sized safe. Only 2 x 3-pin sockets in the room (one underneath the desk which powers the tv so if coming from the UK bring a European adapter as there are more 2-pin sockets. There is a mini fridge. You can hire a reusable bottle which is refundable on check out. We brought our own as theirs were old & manky. Guests have to refill their own bottles from 2 water fountains. All Inclusive is unnecessarily convoluted; not at all customer focused. Rather than a simple AI wristband system, guests give their room number upon order & wait to sign a receipt. If the hotel is trying to be ‘eco friendly’ they could eradicate the need for so much paper by invoking a simpler system? The AI room ‘mini bar’ options are 2 bottles of either beer or soft drink p.p.p.d. To obtain these, guests must go the shop each day, select & sign a receipt. There is further inconvenience when the shop was either closed, (when it should have been open), or it hadn’t been restocked. There is a small gym, with a variety of equipment to enable a reasonable workout. Nice pool areas, although very busy, so not relaxing. There seemed to be large parties of non residents present on occasions, who possibly pay a ‘day rate’ to have lunch & use of the pool? This hugely increased the overall noise & general busyness of the place. There appeared to be only one poolside shower & no foot shower, which would have been handy if you come in off the beach & want to wash the sand from your feet. Our biggest disappointment & frustration was the main restaurant; primarily buffet service. Food is varied with some good choices. However, we found some to be bland & needing extra flavour. There seemed to be a real lack of regular monitoring of food levels. Containers were often empty & took a long time to be replenished, even after physically locating a member of staff to ask. Overall, the food area had a grubby, sticky & unhygienic look & feel to it. There were no bottles of hand sanitisers anywhere inside the restaurant buffet areas, apart from as you enter it. We found this incredulous given the amount of hand contact required by guests with utensils & the potential to pass on germs. Due to their ‘eco’ credentials there are no single use items available such as butter packs or sugar sachets, instead everything is in one container such as a large block of butter with one knife that in constant use, (again, questionable hygiene standards). Inevitably popular food items like butter, milk, fresh fruit & bacon were virtually always either empty or needed replenishing. Whilst the majority of the service staff were efficient & friendly, some were slow, dismissive, lacked peripheral awareness & in some instances just appeared generally unhappy, lacking smiles or any sort of conversation. We did raise our concerns with the Food & Beverage Manager, who appeared sympathetic & helpful, but regularly stated that the staff mentioned had ‘only been there 2 days.’ It seemed like any training was given by hitting the ground running & ‘on the job’. Guests can opt to have a picnic lunch if they are away from the hotel at lunchtime. It is collected from the kitchen in the morning & housed in a small lidded basket which is not insulated. There are no ice blocks, so there is no way of keeping items cold (such as meat in sandwiches). Not ideal in 30°+ heat. The evening entertainment is something different every night. We found that most of the options were really good, especially the laid back vibes of Konpoz to Lamizik who were exceptional. The hotel is fitting of its 3 star rating, however for us overall it was sadly disappointing.

We had a two nights stay at coin de mire attitude and no doubt this hotel has a good commercial service. But my family and myself were very disappointed. 1. The room we were initially given has a bad smell of mold, the room was changed. 2. At dinner time, a very poor variety of veg dishes compared to non veg dishes. All non veg desserts were mixed up with veg desserts and after pointing out the next day we had only sagoo n breakfast fruits salads. . At breakfast time very small variety of veg dishes although we had already informed the staff at reservation and check in time. It was very disappointing when we had to wait for one hour before being served with sweet pancakes and vegan sausages. . On the next day same spinach dish was served at breakfast and dinner time and there was no care for veg dishes. We were limited in choice and we were served sour and stale chilli bites. We drew the attention of the staff. I don't think it is my duty to draw the attention of the staff each time, my family ought to enjoy the stay. Our culinary experience each time meals were served, was a disaster. The hotel did not offer any acceptable variety of dishes nor did it display any creativity. If you are non veg you will definitely get value for money but if you are veg this hotel is big NO. Our kids were very sad and disappointed. Definitely not recommended for vegetarians.
