Had a lovely vacation. Amazing staff who are very kind and attentive especially Elizabeth, Jonathan, and the entertainment staff at the main Akumal pool. We were visiting as part of a large group so I didn’t know what to expect but the service was wonderful from all the staff we interacted with. One downside was that we could not all be seated together for the a la carte dinners despite none of the restaurants being fully booked. We were told that they don’t seat tables with more than eight people because otherwise it would be too loud. We also were only given late seatings 8:30-9:00 and that was not the most appreciated by the wait staff (not that they gave us worse service because of the timing though!). The hotel complex is quite large but the shuttles are plentiful and frequent. Our room was lovely and in one of the updated villas which was a nice surprise. Lots of wildlife on the property too. If you’re into birdwatching you’ll definitely see a few unique specimens without having to leave the hotel! Breakfast buffet 10/10. What a wonderful first visit to the Yucatan peninsula!

Bang for your buck. I payed 1500 in October for two adults and two small children and a 5 night stay. Let me start by saying that I felt like I got more than my monies worth. The room was nice. The staff were all friendly and some of the nicest I’ve seen (only stayed at the grand moon palace but some of them were not nice over there). The beach was perfect for kids with fishes swimming all around you. The pool bars were great and the one at the main pool made delicious cocktails. I’m telling all my friends about this place and recommending they go. So much more to say hopefully on another day I’ll add to it. Also no one is hounding you to write a review. I only had one of the staff pass by and suggest it. All the staff are great some hard workers.

My husband and I are currently staying at the Bahia Principe Akumal in Mexico, and we would like to share a very positive review of the overall service, with special recognition for Elizabeth. The service throughout the entire hotel has been excellent – friendly, attentive, and always delivered with a smile. However, Elizabeth truly stood out during our stay. For the past two weeks, she has been running between the sun loungers all day long, making sure every guest had a cold drink in hand, even in the heat. Her energy, dedication, and positive attitude made a huge difference in our daily relaxation by the pool and beach. Elizabeth is incredibly hardworking, kind, and professional, and she represents the highest standard of hospitality. Thanks to her (and the entire team), our stay has been unforgettable. We truly felt taken care of every single day. Thank you for such wonderful service – we would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to others.

Everything here has been great. First off- The service from Jose at breakfast and lunch has been amazing, he is so attentive and makes us feel welcome every time. He got to know just how I liked my breakfast tea in no time! He’s been the star of the show for us here! We only dined in the buffet towards the end of our stay for dinner, but Patricia Chable was an absolute pleasure. She’s the sweetest and always made sure we had everything we need. Her smile is infectious and we hope to see her again in the future. All of the main buffet servers are great, you never go without and there is always someone around to help you out. The buffet has a great selection of food at breakfast lunch and dinner, we ended up choosing it over à la cartes we had booked towards the end of the holiday, less time pressure and more choices! We were staying in the older rooms that haven’t been renovated yet, which is why it’s a 4 star. Still lots of room and lovely and clean, but a wee bit outdated and in need of some TLC, which will be coming soon ☺️ Also, when we checked in (Franciso I think…) checked us in and he was amazing, we were here to celebrate our honeymoon and he made a huge fuss, and upgraded us to a sea view room. The staff here are pretty much all wonderful, the food is great, drinks are great, resort is amazing. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful experience at Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal and would absolutely recommend this resort to families and couples alike. A special thank-you to Jose at the reception desk — he was extremely helpful, professional, and welcoming. His support made our stay even smoother and more enjoyable. The newly renovated rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable. The territory is beautiful and very well maintained, and the staff throughout the resort is consistently friendly and helpful. The beach is fantastic, especially for families with small children — there are no waves at all thanks to the lagoon, making it very safe and relaxing for swimming. Food options are plentiful with lots of variety, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Important tip: download the resort’s app and book the à la carte restaurants before you arrive — it makes everything much easier and helps you secure the best dining times. Overall, a truly great vacation experience. We would gladly return and highly recommend this resort.
