We traveled in January 2026 as two adult couples with no children. This is a very family-friendly resort with excellent amenities for kids, including a water park, climbing walls, zip line, baby/kid/teen clubs, VR stations, movie theater, trampoline park, and indoor playground. The pool areas were clean and well maintained. We spent most of our time at the adults-only pool, which was quiet and relaxing, with no children, plenty of daybeds and loungers, and easy access to a snack bar and drink bar. We never had trouble finding seating and never needed to reserve beds early, which was a big plus. Dining was very good overall. The Mexican, Italian, and steakhouse restaurants all had large menus and quality food, and we were happy to revisit each one. Drinks were a standout, especially at the English pub — Edwin was an excellent bartender who made well-balanced cocktails and creative custom drinks. Bars close at 11 p.m., but a disco opens at that time and runs until about 1 a.m. We enjoyed it on one of the busier nights, though the resort could do a better job advertising adult evening activities, as many guests didn’t know it existed. Rooms were clean and spacious, though housekeeping was occasionally inconsistent with restocking towels and water. The beach had noticeable seaweed during our stay, but the sand was soft and there were plenty of loungers. There are nightly shows at 9 p.m. and lots to do overall. There was an adequate gym and spa that offered massages abs hydrotherapy. There is also a cute kids salon in the spa. This resort is especially well-suited for families, but for adults without children, the adults-only pool made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, as long as you don’t mind kids in shared spaces.

This resort was absolutely perfect for our family of six (two adults and four kids ages 11 to 3½). The pools are fantastic—yes, a bit cool, but honestly refreshing. The food was excellent, with plenty of delicious snacks and drinks available throughout the day. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, the rooms were beautiful, and the beds were unbelievably comfortable. The resort itself is spacious without feeling overwhelming, so getting from place to place was easy. This is the fourth resort my husband and I have stayed at in the Cancún area, and it is by far the most family-friendly. There is so much for kids to do: a zip line, trampoline area, kids’ drop-off programs for children up to 12 (the women working there were amazing—I hadn’t planned on using it, but my sons begged to go back), kid-friendly water slides, and a theater/game area. Truly an amazing experience. We all can’t wait to come back!

We recently stayed at Sensira with a group of 6 adults, 8 kids (ages 1 -6). (beginning of Jan.) Pros of our stay: -Clean (if a little worn) resort and rooms -Very friendly staff -Kids activities. Our kids loved the trampoline area and the kids pool. We also had fun mini golfing and watched a few movies at the theatre. They had viewings at 4, 6 and 8 and the 4 o clock show was always little kid friendly which worked well for our group. -Buffet was really good if you go with fresh off the grill items. A highlight for us was the asian night with stir fry and custom fried rice and of course our daily omelettes in the morning. -The teahouse was open early so could get coffee before breakfast. Kids also loved the candy bar and gelato that got put out after lunch. -Kids club was really good. Our kids are not used to daycare or anything like that but went for an hour or two every day. Special shout out to Lupita, Marines and Amairony for looking after our kids. They also take your number and whatsapp you when kids are ready to leave which was very handy. -Nice sand at the beach. Last couple of days was bad for seaweed so kids didn't splash in the ocean then but they still had fun with their sand toys. Its also an ocean and seaweed happens so can't fault resort for that. -We had a family room with a king bed and bunkbeds and it was very nice that the kids had their own "room" so would read or watch tv after they went to bed. Cons of our stay: -There are only 3 restaurants (besides the adult only one, which is only open Saturdays). They are nothing special. Food was just okay. Steakhouse was probably the best but you have to make reservations and we could only get a 6 o clock time 1 night. The Mexican and Italian are first come, first served. People did line up a little before 6. Our kids usually eat a bit earlier so having supper start at 6 the earliest was a bit dicey some nights. -Pools were cold, but we knew they would be, especially in Jan. Was fine if the sun was out but if it got cloudy, kid did get cold. -The pool chair saving thing is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed. Hard to get a chair if you don't go out early and most of the time half the saved chairs are empty. -Spa was very nice and the ladies there were awesome, but the steam room and sauna weren't working which was disappointing. -Pool snack bar could get very busy and there was long waits, but the staff really did their best to get you your food. Was just a busy time of year to travel. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sensira, the location close to the airport was handy. I'm not sure we would go back, given all the options there are in Mexico, but don't regret going at all.

We booked Sensira Resort & Spa about a year in advance based on strong reviews and were very excited. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. The arrival was pleasant — cool towels, a beautiful and great-smelling lobby — but check-in was very slow. Our room was clean and a good size, but the other family we traveled with had serious issues: stained furniture, black damage on a piece of furniture, and black mold in the shower. They were able to change rooms after one night, but this was concerning. The beach is close to the hotel, but the sargassum problem is severe. The water was muddy brown and completely unusable, and the smell was awful when seaweed washed ashore. You do not get the turquoise ocean views shown in photos. Pools were also freezing cold, and there were not enough pool chairs. My husband had to go down at 7 a.m. every day to try to secure chairs, and even then it was difficult. The advertised swim-up bar was never open — staff gave conflicting answers — which felt misleading. The biggest issue was that 3 out of 4 adults in our group got very sick (vomiting, diarrhea, fever) for several days, which completely ruined the all-inclusive experience. Thankfully, none of the kids got sick, but this should not be happening at a resort that claims everything is filtered. Food options were very limited. La Pergola is the only buffet and was repetitive, crowded after 9 a.m., and slow to restock items. Lunch options were mostly limited to the snack bar, which became boring quickly. Dinner restaurants were hit or miss, with inconvenient reservation rules. On a positive note, the resort is extremely kid-friendly. Our kids loved the shows, movie theater, trampoline, games, and activities. However, both kids clubs need serious cleaning and updates — one had a terrible smell. Overall, Sensira has potential, but between illness, food quality, misleading amenities, lack of seating, cold pools, and ocean conditions, it fell far short. We wanted to love it, but we would not return.

We stayed at Sensira Resort from Christmas to New Year’s and had an amazing time. The facilities are fantastic, especially for kids — the trampoline park, kids’ pool, daycare, and activities kept them busy nonstop. There’s also lots to do for adults. The staff really makes the experience. Everyone tries their best to take great care of guests. Special thanks to Samantha and Lewis, Alan, Eva, and Maria from the restaurant, the guy at the snack bar (managing 100s of orders!) , and the aqua Zumba instructor with awesome energy. The New Year’s celebration was fantastic — great DJ events and fireworks made it a perfect way to ring in the new year. Overall, an excellent family-friendly resort. We’d definitely come back!
