One praiseworthy aspect is the hotel staff. Always polite and willing to help. Special recognition goes to Mr. Muhammad from the bar team. We truly appreciate his exemplary work ethic and dedication. The manager should seriously consider giving him a bonus! In summary: Since this was a last-minute holiday, we’re not too upset. However, I do feel sorry for those who look forward to staying at this resort with high hopes!

Avoid The Meril Club Hotel at Your Peril! Having enjoyed Turunç twice before, we returned with our two young adult sons. We carefully chose The Meril Club Hotel Adults Only, influenced by numerous 5-star reviews and promises of excellent food – a key factor for our sons' first visit. Unfortunately, our stay was far from positive; issues began immediately upon arrival. Upon being shown our rooms, we were dissatisfied and requested a change, only to be told it would cost an exorbitant €150. Both our room and our sons' room presented a multitude of problems: * Filthy and Damaged: Laminate flooring in both rooms was dirty and separated. * Substandard Bathroom: Bath surfaces were painted and peeling, with black mould. * Broken Fixtures: The towel rail was detached. * Missing Essentials: No shower gel, basic soap, or adequate toilet paper (had to use restaurant napkins). * Non-Functional Amenities: TV lacked a power cable, the fridge didn't work and was stained. * Faulty Air Conditioning: The remote didn't work, and the unit continuously dripped, requiring towels. * Significant Security Risk: Our ground-floor patio door did not lock, and there was no safe for valuables. * Unusable Balcony: Blocked by dining tables, offering no privacy. * Limited Storage: Only one coat hanger was provided. * Poor Housekeeping (Common Areas): Dirty drink glasses from another room remained in the corridor for six days. We were informed rooms would be cleaned every two days with fresh towels. However, our room was only cleaned on day four, and only after we complained. Reception staff cited a shortage of cleaners. Subsequent reminders were ignored. By day six, we informed our tour operator, who contacted the hotel. Following this, our room was cleaned, and the towel rail fixed. I thanked the manager, who simply replied, "You're welcome," highlighting a lack of accountability. The "restaurant" and food quality were dreadful. Our entire party developed throat infections, which we strongly believe stemmed from food/salads prepared with tap water. It was obvious the hotel knew there was an issue with the water since when we asked for bottled water, we were told that it was for the owners use only! With a fish allergy in our group, the almost nightly serving of fish with no meat alternative was unacceptable. Consequently, we, and many other guests, were forced to eat out every evening. Public toilets near the restaurant and pool area were consistently filthy, with faecal matter left uncleaned. Immediately after our tour operator's official complaint, hotel staff and owners became openly unwelcoming and intimidating. Furthermore, the owners staying with their children in an "Adults Only" hotel completely undermined our booking choice and showed disrespect to guests. On our final day, the hotel demanded £50 per person for a late check-out. We refused, checking out at noon. Unlike other guests who could use facilities until late flights, we were informed at 4 pm that we'd receive no more food or drinks (only water) unless we paid. This was unacceptable given our 9 pm departure for a nearly 2 am flight, though not a hardship as we preferred eating out due to the lack of decent hotel food. It is abundantly clear that the hotel's online reviews are manipulated, with 5-star ratings primarily from single-review accounts. We also overheard employees complaining about pay and working conditions. This hotel clearly has severe managerial and financial problems. It's a real pity, as it appears to have once been a lovely establishment that has now deteriorated comprehensively. Please don't let our experience deter you from Turunç; it remains a charming destination with many excellent accommodation options. However, for your own sake, please avoid The Meril Club Hotel at your peril! The response from the owner is exactly as we expected going by replies to other poor reviewers. Fabricated and defensive. A full official investigation into the running of this hotel is required urgently! Or preferably tour operators should simply just remove them from their books.

Meril Club Hotel Review!! I want to start by saying the Meril has so much potential but we are very disappointed. I also want to say we love Turunc and have been 3 times and this may stop people from returning in future if they choose to stay in Meril at your peril! On arrival within 5 minutes we noticed a few things and immediately raised it with reception who told us if we wanted to move rooms it would be another 150 euros. We were told this was a management decision. What we experienced: The tv does not work not even a cable attached The fridge does not work and filthy The bath surface has peeled There was no shower gel Towel holder hanging off the wall Only 1 coat hanger No safe for valuables Floors were dirty my sons socks were filthy within 5 mins. Remote for air con does not work and leaks water Patio door will not lock and as we were on ground floor this was not safe We all got throat infections Room was only cleaned on day 4! After we had to complain to reception who told us they were having housekeeping issues. Then by day 6 we complained to our tour operator who had to contact the hotel to clean our room. We had lost confidence the hotel would listen. Having to take napkins for toilet roll as they ran out and night reception said we had to wait for housekeeping. Guests can eat their dinner right outside our balcony Only 1 choice of meat for dinner flies over the food. I have a fish allergy and 3 of the nights that was our choice. On another night it was Turkey but you could hardly cut it. Reviews online are all good but recent ones are from people who have only contributed once letting us believe now they are fake. You get filtered tap water and when my partner asked for bottled water sometimes he was given it and others told it was only for the bosses. This means the bosses won't drink their own water. As soon as the hotel got the official complaint they were laughing at us, it felt very intimidating. On our final day they told us at 4pm we were to get no more food or drinks only water. Our flight was not until nearly 2am and we my son and his friend with us.Even though other people we had met were served right up to the point of check out. They also were nearly going to refuse us a shower the reception had to call the owners to ask permission! Never heard of anything like this before and we believe it was due to our complaint. We ended up having a beautiful meal in Can (made a bad day a delight) The white grills around the pool are filthy, the toilets behind the restaurant at one point were not cleaned for 3 days! As I have said it does have the potential to become a really nice boutique hotel but not under the current owners. Their spa however was really nice and the Thai lady was lovely but we also heard her complaining to the owners about lack of work and salary. The food was limited and the quality was not good. We ended up eating out most nights and other guests we met had done the same. The beer was nice and most drinks were ok with nice bar staff. Doughnuts freshly made in afternoon were nice so there were some positives. We have complained to our holiday provider but until they show this hotel some love and care I wouldn't stay here again. Coming back in September for our 4th visit as thankfully we know this is not the norm and we love Turunc x It should be closed for a deep clean and fix all the maintenance issues, review of customer service and quality management.

The hotel it's self is okay. Although if you're English I would highly recommend not staying in this hotel nor turunc. The hotel staff are 50/50. The women are polite and greet you while the men look at you asif you scum. If you speak Turkish you'll be able to jump ques at the bar, and overall have a more pleasant stay. The food is atrocious. There are four options morning lunch and dinner, these include two meat options either a pasta potato or rice option and a veg. Other than that salad in served with every meal. It's a traditional Turkish breakfast so gone is your eggs sausage beans and bacon, and replaced with salami, salad and olives. Oh are you're given bread. There's no toast at all. The environment in the hotel is calm and relaxing if you like to keep yourself to yourself but the manger (a big hairy speccy miserable man) will constantly stare you out. The bar is only outside with a very limited range of drinks the beer is efle, seems to be the traditional Turkish option out here, although it does run out so you have to be quick for the two hours they have it serving. The coke ran out twice in The week we stayed other than that you've got your typical no name wines, and spirits. Oh and the soda machines are swarmed with wasps, you lucky if you don't have to get your drink repaired because a wasp has landed in your drink. The hygiene levels are so poor. There's no fly traps or anything around the bar to prevent this. The hotel it's self is classed as over 16 but the owner will bring in his family and there kids which means just when you thought you was kids free boom you're again surrounded by them. The turunc towns people on the markets and restaurants said this is classed as the most hated hotel and that he wouldn't recommend anyone english staying here and it's known they down like them. We went to marmaris on the boat taxi and even there restaurants advised us not to stay at this hotel. On our 4th night here, at 10pm are door was opened with three Turkish men trying to barge in (meanwhile me and my partner are but naked) we shouted at them to leave, once dressed they came in claiming to service the air con. When asked why are you doing this so late they all claimed they couldn't speak English, messed around on the balcony for 10 minutes and left, the next day we realised one of these men where the owners sons. When trying to get hold of the holiday provider ( on the beach) we rang through 13 times for the phone line to than tell us the phone number no longer exists. There's no point reporting it to the hotel bc yet again no one understands us. This hotel should not be advertised to England as its clear there do not like the english nor would an English person find this hotel a present stay with such language barriers and sharp looks from the owners. The owner does nothing but shout at his staff infront of people, the staff are all students, we witness two girls on there first day just thrown a uniform and put to work with no idea with what they were doing. No other staff were helping, they just stood so helpless with the owner staring at them like a lion ready to pounce for his next meal. We had a flight back to the UK at 12am Tuesday night but no one at the reception would tell us when our transfer was, it took 3 receptionist to magic a time up (which was a hour later than what we where actually getting picked up at). And after all the miss communication we had our bands cut off us and told we'll have to wait outside for 5 hours till our transfer arrives. Overall turunc it's self is lovely. The towns people are so friendly and funny, very welcoming but I'll highly advise not staying at the meril club hotel if your native language is English. There are far much better hotels in ichmeler or marmaris where locals are more friendly and accepting of all nationalities.

Great hotel for the price. Cleaning of the room is wished to be better though. Hotel is strong 3star rather than 4 but it is common for Turkey. Food was good, facilities as well. Staff in the restaurant, night shift receptionist and bar are great. Thanks a lot to them! There is always things to be better but it is important to bear in mind the price paid for it before being extra critical.
