DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT FROM THE OWNERS AND TO BE GIVEN WHAT YOU PAID FOR. we stayed at the meril hotel and all i can say is our group were all very unsatisfied and disappointed with our whole stay. first of all when we got to our separate rooms, i went with my mum and dad and boyfriend and they put our rooms on completely opposite ends of the hotel and different floors, although when we were showed to our rooms, for the first 2 days there was 10 people max staying in the hotel so they could have accommodated us differently. apparently (no room for manoeuvres) on arrival, as you can imagine, we were all dying to put our luggage in the rooms and go down for food, to be greated with hard fish and some soggy tomato looking dish. after hoping this was a one off we continued the night and had something to drink. absolutely no entertainment or anything to do at night time. played spanish music from the bosses phone to the speakers, (taking no requests) we then went to bed hoping the next day would be better to then wake up to no meat options or anything good on for food at all. the food was a massive let down as we had to dine out frequently as the food was just appalling. BARE IN MIND WHEN WE BOOKED THE FOOD WAS STATED AS ‘NATIONAL WORLD WIDE FOOD’ carrying on from everything else, we had to complain many times as our rooms were not getting cleaned after 4 days we complained many times about both rooms not getting cleaned and all they did was give us some towels. after a few days we noticed money was missing from one of our bags, about ‘£70’ in turkish lira. we then complained about this and they told us that they had ‘no cameras’ on our corridor which is strange as the boss replied to another 1 star review stating that they do have working cameras. i don’t even wanna get started about the state of the room, dirty bathroom, no shower door, dirty walls, dirty fridge, balcony was filthy, exposed wires next to the bed and 2 hangers in the wardrobe. the downstairs toilets were absolutely filthy and absolutely stunk every time you walked past them and were never filled with toilet paper or cleaned. the ‘dinner’ was dry biscuits which they would then turn the bar off for an hour when you needed it the most. they had a few vegetables to eat but flies all over them. the owners family lived amongst us in the hotel and were very rude and unwelcoming. we were being fed basically dog food as they would have all of the waiters running around for them to make them meals we didn’t get and make them platters of fruit and other meats. they would have their own designated table that they would always sit at including the two children that also lived in the hotel. the older little boy would ride around on his scooter by the pool while the little girl would scream and cause a scene while you were trying to relax by the pool or eat your food in peace, with this being advised as an ‘adults only’ hotel this really annoyed us. in the daytime or nighttime the owners would connect their phones to the speakers and play spanish music but then would turn it off because the ‘child was sleeping’ in the only decent chair they had by the bar. they would turn the food at night after it had been on for around an hour with everyone pecking at it as it was shocking, we would all still be hungry and there was no food available. the owners and their family would then sit and have the workers bringing them food out and big platters of fruit and watermelon art for them to eat while no one else could get anything. ALL OF THE WORKERS INCLUDING THE RECEPTION GIRL, THE RESTAURANT PEOPLE AND BAR STAFF ALL WERE AMAZING, even though you used to overhear the owners shouting at them. i know the owners are going to reply to this saying something silly and denying everything but PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAY AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS HOTEL AND THE HORRIBLE FAMILY THAT RUN IT.

One praiseworthy aspect is the hotel staff. Always polite and willing to help. Special recognition goes to Mr. Muhammad from the bar team. We truly appreciate his exemplary work ethic and dedication. The manager should seriously consider giving him a bonus! In summary: Since this was a last-minute holiday, we’re not too upset. However, I do feel sorry for those who look forward to staying at this resort with high hopes!

We stayed at this hotel in September. I wouldn’t say that it was as described in other reviews. We were going to Turkey to spend all our time by the sea and didn't use the pool at all. The pool isn't deep (1.4 m), and they cleaned it every evening. However, if you're going for the sea, what's the point of spending the whole day by the pool? Quality of Food and Rooms: This topic was important to me, and I'd say that most critical reviews were probably expecting four-star quality similar to well-known international hotels. It's illogical to assume such a thing when paying such a low, though reasonable, price. The food was good, but the salads weren't fresh at dinner because they were leftovers from lunch. The food variety is fine, but it could be better because you eat the same food every day, so after two or three days, you start looking for alternatives. There were options for breakfast, lunch, a coffee break, and dinner. Also, the bar was open until 11 PM. I wouldn't say they ran out of beer or other alcohol, but I didn't drink much at the hotel, so I can't be sure. Each diner, there was an outdoor grill. For two days, there was chicken, and for another two days, there were "turkey" patties, but to me, they tasted like lamb. The only huge disadvantage for me is that there are no descriptions of the food - no names or ingredients (which could be allergens). You're blindly guessing what you're eating or trusting the cook at the grill who tells you it's turkey. The rooms themselves are fine, but they definitely need repairs. A big minus for me was the shower, there was no curtain or door, so the floor was wet after each shower. We had to use a bathroom mat to wipe it down. I also don't recommend going inside the shower without slippers if you don't want to get a fungal infection because the shower certainly wasn't clean. You can see the photo, and this yellow buildup was in our slipper prints after a couple of showers. Moreover, the showerhead broke during our stay, it just fell off while my boyfriend was taking a shower. For three days, we were just using the hose. They didn't make us pay for it, as I read that someone else had to pay for a broken shelf, but they also didn't fix it for us. The rooms were cleaned every one or two days, but the staff only made the bed and vacuumed the floors, which is sufficient for some people but not for others. There's soap in the dispenser next to the sink and in the shower, but it isn't refilled during your stay. An additional point about the fridge: it's old and doesn't work without the room card. So, if you leave the room, don't expect your water to be cold when you return (a photo was attached) Wi-Fi: There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms, I guess due to limited number of allowed connections. I recommend buying an eSIM card if you plan to work. I personally chose Revolut eSIM, and it was nice since there's no 5G in Turkey anyway, and the price was good. Conclusion: To summarize, it's not four stars, as everyone seems to expect, but let's be fair - it's ridiculous to expect the treatment of a chain hotel at such a low price. The food was okay, but after two days, we started going out for dinner and had lunch at the beach. I hope the hotel will eventually label the food and allergens and try to repair the rooms a bit (even some cosmetic touch-ups would be a huge plus). I also hope they'll pay more attention to the cleanliness in the rooms and bathrooms. I'm not sure if the problem is with the staff or if they simply don't have the proper cleaning supplies. From my observation, it's the first option. We were looking for the cheapest option without any expectations because we were planning to spend our entire time at the sea. If you're okay with spending some money outside the hotel and aren't tied to the all-inclusive package you've paid for, this is a fair option. Additional Information: As a bonus, there's a pool table and table tennis that you can use for free, but they're also in bad shape.

Say the truth this hotel is in a great place. But: However, the room does not have a shower door . Terrible and boring food and dining room meals. The air conditioners do not work. in many rooms, even the toilet does not work. The bed suits was with holes and dirty...

Avoid The Meril Club Hotel at Your Peril! Having enjoyed Turunç twice before, we returned with our two young adult sons. We carefully chose The Meril Club Hotel Adults Only, influenced by numerous 5-star reviews and promises of excellent food – a key factor for our sons' first visit. Unfortunately, our stay was far from positive; issues began immediately upon arrival. Upon being shown our rooms, we were dissatisfied and requested a change, only to be told it would cost an exorbitant €150. Both our room and our sons' room presented a multitude of problems: * Filthy and Damaged: Laminate flooring in both rooms was dirty and separated. * Substandard Bathroom: Bath surfaces were painted and peeling, with black mould. * Broken Fixtures: The towel rail was detached. * Missing Essentials: No shower gel, basic soap, or adequate toilet paper (had to use restaurant napkins). * Non-Functional Amenities: TV lacked a power cable, the fridge didn't work and was stained. * Faulty Air Conditioning: The remote didn't work, and the unit continuously dripped, requiring towels. * Significant Security Risk: Our ground-floor patio door did not lock, and there was no safe for valuables. * Unusable Balcony: Blocked by dining tables, offering no privacy. * Limited Storage: Only one coat hanger was provided. * Poor Housekeeping (Common Areas): Dirty drink glasses from another room remained in the corridor for six days. We were informed rooms would be cleaned every two days with fresh towels. However, our room was only cleaned on day four, and only after we complained. Reception staff cited a shortage of cleaners. Subsequent reminders were ignored. By day six, we informed our tour operator, who contacted the hotel. Following this, our room was cleaned, and the towel rail fixed. I thanked the manager, who simply replied, "You're welcome," highlighting a lack of accountability. The "restaurant" and food quality were dreadful. Our entire party developed throat infections, which we strongly believe stemmed from food/salads prepared with tap water. It was obvious the hotel knew there was an issue with the water since when we asked for bottled water, we were told that it was for the owners use only! With a fish allergy in our group, the almost nightly serving of fish with no meat alternative was unacceptable. Consequently, we, and many other guests, were forced to eat out every evening. Public toilets near the restaurant and pool area were consistently filthy, with faecal matter left uncleaned. Immediately after our tour operator's official complaint, hotel staff and owners became openly unwelcoming and intimidating. Furthermore, the owners staying with their children in an "Adults Only" hotel completely undermined our booking choice and showed disrespect to guests. On our final day, the hotel demanded £50 per person for a late check-out. We refused, checking out at noon. Unlike other guests who could use facilities until late flights, we were informed at 4 pm that we'd receive no more food or drinks (only water) unless we paid. This was unacceptable given our 9 pm departure for a nearly 2 am flight, though not a hardship as we preferred eating out due to the lack of decent hotel food. It is abundantly clear that the hotel's online reviews are manipulated, with 5-star ratings primarily from single-review accounts. We also overheard employees complaining about pay and working conditions. This hotel clearly has severe managerial and financial problems. It's a real pity, as it appears to have once been a lovely establishment that has now deteriorated comprehensively. Please don't let our experience deter you from Turunç; it remains a charming destination with many excellent accommodation options. However, for your own sake, please avoid The Meril Club Hotel at your peril! The response from the owner is exactly as we expected going by replies to other poor reviewers. Fabricated and defensive. A full official investigation into the running of this hotel is required urgently! Or preferably tour operators should simply just remove them from their books.
