I have just spent a week here doing all inclusive, and after going in worried after reading reviews I have one of my own. 1. The reviews definitely make the hotel worse than it is. The hotel is run down in areas, yes, but there is people constantly cleaning it so it is clearly just an older building. 2. The food isnt that bad. There is not a lot of choice, no, but what there is is lovely. They have some of the best sausages I have tried and their churros were lovely. 3. The hotel staff were lovely. Yes they werent always the happiest, I would say those working in the restaurangs could learn to be kinder, however the bar staff were especially kind !! Just be weary of the photographer. He seems nice to begin with but will take your pictures but when u dont want to buy one he will patronise you and pretend he no longer understands english. 4. The rudest people I met personally were other guests of the hotel - they will just push infront of you, not say thank you, no general friendly atmosphere which is a shame. 5. The room cleaning ladies never stole anything of mine. Infact, they left my jellycats tucked into bed everyday!! Please don’t let the bad reviews stop you from having fun.

After strolling to PDC we were very glad to be in Matagorda which is much more laid back and quieter but still with an excellent selection of bars and restaurants. The Beatriz was great value in our opinion. It's dated in parts and only 10 minutes from the airport but plane noise was no issue. Our room , a superior twin, was spacious with a great view of the mountains and over to Fuerty. The restaurant was nicely situated, particularly the outside tables , and never seemed too busy. Breakfast was decent with freshly fried eggs and pancakes and lots of fresh fruit. Dinner was enjoyable , had sufficient variation for us and a freshly grilled meat and fish each evening. The pool areas were busy albeit with beds always available but we went on the beach 50 yards away where the sea was gorgeous. The gym was well equipped and there were daily fitness classes in the sun. We would definitely return.

Food was really bad and flavourless. So many rules about the all-inclusive package. Drink only here from this time to this time, this is closed at this time. This only opens on a Thursday etc etc. I'm it really fussy with food and we still had a good time but the endless rules and bad food and drink where very annoying and we ended up going elsewhere. Rooms: ok, clean but taps didn't work sometimes at all, hot or cold. Food: aweful, nothing tasted good at all and I had to live off egg Sandwiches and chips 😄. And I usually eat everything as I'm not fussy. Drink: everything tastes of off brand versions of the usually drinks and has a chemically taste. The only provide VERY small glasses so if you want a pint you'll actually get a small glass, this means you have to order 2 drinks per person and you get eye rolled by the staff sometimes. Also the line to get drinks was always long. Location: great location, right next to the beach. Staff: reception staff ok but bar and waiters where a bit cold and sometimes rude. General: If you arnt fussy and you get the hotel on a deal it's ok. I enjoyed my time but that's because I'm quite relaxed and the hotel was booked cheaply on a deal. If I'd paid full price I'd be annoyed.

Budget hotel. In need of some refurbishment. Some African size cockroaches around, but hey, expected this part of the world with open plain areas inside a hotel. Rooms could use some paint and deep clean. Service staff is friendly and helpfull. Some training might help to be more on the spot, such as frequenzy changing bed sheets etc. Close to the airport, hence no surprise there is some noise of planes. Not too terrible. Food variations are ok. Two or 3 Fisch variations at lunch and dinner. Differerent meat selections. Improvment needs on vegetarian behavior. A bit mess around the buffet at times due to other guests attitute. Some people are just animals at it. We used it as a base to explore the Island.

My mum has been here for the past two weeks. The day she arrived she messaged to say how bad the hotel was, dirty rooms, mould in showers and on shower screens. A few days in she messaged again to say how bad the food and drinks were. Food disgusting, alcohol drinks watered down so much you couldn’t tell what it was. She asked for a table to be cleaned one morning in the restaurant and the rude staff started mocking her. About 4 nights ago she ate dinner and was feeling unwell afterwards, she awoke during the night with severe food poisoning symptoms. She went on to have severe vomiting and diarrhoea. She asked me for help here in the UK because the rooms don’t have phones to contact reception and she was too ill to leave the room. We asked for water to be taken, they took 2 small bottles in the morning. Her illness continued and we requested more water in the evening and were told they were too busy and she would have to wait until the following day. They also made her pay for the bottles! Eventually we needed to seek medical assistance for her and we got a doctor to her room around 11pm that evening. She was charged close to €1000 for a doctor visit and antisickness meds which we had no choice but to go ahead and she was due to fly the following evening, this fee included a fit to fly note. I’m disgusted at how the hotel handled a very sick 72 years old solo traveller and their lack of empathy to help her. Yesterday she paid €50 to keep her room until being collected for the airport. She hadn’t eaten for 3 days due to food poisoning which she contracted in their restaurant, she went to the restaurant to get a safe chip buttie and was told she’d have to pay another €21 for dinner as her room payment didn’t include food! She did not receive a basic level of care and empathy from this hotel when she took ill in one of their rooms and the hotel would appear to be a 1-2 star at best. STAY WELL CLEAR FROM THIS HOLIDAY FROM HELL HOTEL, FILTHY, COCKROACH INFESTED KITCHEN SERVING UP A GOOD DOSE OF FOOD POISONING
