⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible Resort – The Staff Make This Place Special We had an amazing stay at Grand Mirage Resort in Nusa Dua. The location is beautiful right on the beach, the pools are great, the food was very good, and there are plenty of activities for both adults and families. Overall the resort itself is fantastic, but the real highlight of this place is the staff. Every single staff member we interacted with was unbelievably kind, friendly, and helpful. From the reception team, restaurant staff, cleaners, security, and everyone around the resort — every single person greets you with a smile and genuinely tries to make your stay better. You can immediately feel how hardworking they all are. They are constantly moving, helping guests, checking if everything is okay, and making sure people are comfortable. The level of service here honestly rivals some of the best hotels in the world. What impressed us the most is how genuine the staff are. Nothing feels forced. They remember small details, they ask how your day was, and they truly make you feel welcome. It creates an atmosphere that makes the whole resort feel warm and relaxed. To be completely honest, after seeing how hard they work and how much effort they put into making guests happy, all of the staff here deserve to be paid much more than they probably are. They are the heart of this resort and the reason guests have such a great experience. The facilities, location, and food are great — but the people working here are what make Grand Mirage truly special. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Bali.

We stayed at Grand Mirage for New Year’s Eve to welcome 2026, mainly because of how much we loved our first stay back in 2018. Back then, the all-inclusive package exceeded expectations and the staff were some of the most attentive and genuinely warm people we’ve encountered in any resort. That experience is exactly why we chose to return and celebrate such an important occasion there. What We Loved Staff service remains exceptional. Truly the highlight of our stay. They were attentive, kind, and always willing to help. When we explained that my husband has limited mobility, the staff kindly allowed him to use a complimentary bicycle again, even though bikes are now normally rented. This thoughtful gesture meant a lot and made getting around the property much easier for him. What Changed (and Not for the Better) Unfortunately, several changes since 2018 made this visit disappointing: 1. We were given a voucher for a massage, which used to be complimentary but is now only offered as a discount voucher. The same thing happened with the Seawalker activity. We initially understood it was included, but when we tried to book a slot, we were told it only came with a $50 discount. We decided not to proceed, as it felt overpriced even after the discount. We had also heard that the underwater view in Bali can be underwhelming—especially if you’ve already experienced something as spectacular as helmet diving in Boracay, Philippines. 2. We stayed in the Family Paradise wing this time, and it didn’t compare to the main building where we stayed before. The difference in atmosphere, convenience, and overall feel was noticeable. The NYE Celebration — Biggest Letdown The main reason for our trip was the New Year’s Eve celebration, and sadly, this was where expectations fell short. The event was held in the main dining area, which became extremely hot, humid, and overcrowded — not the festive environment we had hoped for. The food selection and quality were also disappointing and there were very limited vegetarian options, which made it difficult for guests with dietary preferences. During the countdown, management explained there would be no fireworks due to government regulations out of respect for victims of recent flooding in Indonesia. We completely understand and support that decision. However, we expected an alternative celebration — perhaps a cultural show, fire dance, or special performance. Instead, what we got was a very brief, underwhelming “spectacle” that lasted only seconds. After the countdown, guests were ushered back to the main dining hall rather than continuing the celebration at the Rama Theater or another proper party venue, which made the night feel like it ended abruptly instead of building into a festive after-party. Final Verdict If we were rating purely based on the NYE experience, this would honestly be a 1-star review. But the staff’s outstanding hospitality saved the overall stay and reminded us why we booked this resort the second time. But there definitely won't be a 3rd time.

One of the most wonderful resorts that we've ever stayed in. So beautiful, well planned-out, superb service, customer oriented world class resort experience. I was hesitant at first with the slightly premium prices, but I am so glad we went ahead with it. First, it splits families with kids from the main resort - and yes, buffet breakfast is better at the main resort, but it's nice to have a 5min stroll in the morning. This means the families side can really focus on families and kids stuff - and the resort did it perfectly. Lots of kids activities - movies, games, foam parties water slides - aka loud during the awake time. But at night, activities are held at the main resort side - which means peace and quite at the family side. Secondly, customised/personal service: the resort uses WhatsApp so you can let them know what you need and they can respond quickly. Not only that, you tell them once and they know to do the way you asked for all future days. It's something as small as we asking for 4 more water bottles on Day 2, and from then on, they always give us extra 4 bottles on top of what they normally supply! Thirdly, resort is genuine - when you charge anything to your room (dine/drink/activities etc.) the last final figure before you put your room number is actually "inclusive of tax". Again, small thing, but just give that piece of mind that you won't be paying another 21%. Fourthly, that AMAZING lazy river - I just wonder how a resort can possibly build one. It's so wonderful and feels private - we can relax there all day (it's got a DJ playing music when I was there too!). Finally, to top it all off - since most of our flight back leaves at night - this resort even provides a "rest and shower" room after you check out! For the 1 hr before you leave the resort, you can get a room and do a quick change/shower before going to the airport! Well done staff, well done management - perfect thought out resort

Family-Friendly Facilities If you have kids under 10 years old, it's best to stay on the family side of the Grand Mirage. The kids' club was a great fit for our children, keeping them entertained and happy during our stay. When we needed a break, we found the resort's nanny service very helpful—it can be booked directly through the resort, providing peace of mind for parents needing some time out. Dining Options Although the food is generally better in the main Resort, the walk to the other side is only about three minutes. We found the Jukung restaurant to be the standout choice for meals. Getting Around If you plan to visit Waterbom or do anything in the Kuta area with the kids, you'll need to arrange transport. A taxi or driver is necessary, as it's about a 30-minute ride from the resort. Value and Inclusions We rated the value slightly lower because not everything at the resort is all inclusive. For example, Singaraja beers are included instead of the trusty Bintang. Pool Bar Both sides of the resort have pool bars, but they only operate until 5.30pm, after which the bar service moves to the restaurants. Room Arrangements We stayed in a family room with bunks, which worked well for our kids. Importantly, the room was secure, as the children did not have access to outside or their own door to leave the room.

We booked a Premier Connecting Room with Pool Access for a family of five and unfortunately did not receive what we paid for. On check in, we were given a connecting room facing the lazy river, not pool access. The room faced an ugly concrete wall, with no view at all. I immediately raised my disappointment with reception and asked to be moved to the correct room type as per our booking. The only reason we booked this hotel was to join another family who wanted to give it a try. We already had reservations based on reviews we had read, and unfortunately those reviews proved to be true. We were told pool access rooms were available but not connecting, and that a connecting pool access room would only be available the following day. This left my wife and I with no choice but to sleep in separate rooms away from our kids for one night, which is unacceptable for a family booking. The next day, we were finally moved to the connecting room at around 3pm, wasting most of the day. While moving rooms, another family was placed into our previous room and they also complained, which says a lot. We also experienced daily issues with our key card access, requiring me to go back to reception every single day to have the cards reissued, which was frustrating and inconvenient. On the night of check in, it was my daughter’s birthday, so we booked a table for 11 people at the Grand Café as we were travelling with another family. The buffet food was very underwhelming, and service was poor. My daughter ordered a mango drink that took 25 minutes to arrive, even after asking three different waiters. Alcohol arrived within five minutes, which shows where the priority was. Staff smiled and said yes, but clearly orders were either forgotten or never placed. Another family travelling with us booked the hotel’s best room, the three bedroom apartment (Room 4442), and still experienced multiple issues, including a leaking roof that dripped into the lounge room and onto their children while watching TV, a dirty bathtub, and a TV in the lounge room that was not working and required an IT visit to fix. After I mentioned that I would be leaving a negative review about the Grand Café, a staff member overheard me and the demeanour of the staff noticeably changed, which was very unprofessional. The only positive experience we had was the Thalasso Spa. My wife and daughter, as well as my friend’s wife, all attended and the service in the spa was excellent. That said, it would be hard not to provide good service when spending around $500 between three people for an 80 minute massage, which is still quite expensive. Based on our experience, I would not recommend The Grand Mirage. The hotel clearly needs renovations, and service standards need serious improvement. If you are deciding between hotels in Nusa Dua, I strongly recommend The Laguna by Marriott, The Apurva Kempinski, or Hilton Bali Resort, all of which offer far better rooms, facilities, and service. If you choose to book The Grand Mirage, do so with caution.
