Gorgeous quiet hotel with great sea view villas. Was nice to have own space in the villa and have a balcony to sit and relax and dip in own pool. Steakhouse was fantastic food. Lighthouse 7 course meal and wine pairing was good. Great choice for breakfast. Pool area and beach was beautiful and everywhere was very clean. Some things to improve is the room service meals were disappointing, snacks need to be provided in rooms and at the bars, more treadmills in gym as it gets very busy in the mornings, more lighting around the pathways at nighttime. Little shout out to these people who work at Hammock Cove and helped us during our stay : Collet who was our waitress at Irena's. Most smiley and friendly person. Lady at the shop who was super friendly and helpful. Tracy on reception who booked our taxis and excursions. Andre, Erick, Nigel, She Maque, Akeila who were great Bar tenders. Feb our waiter at the lighthouse and steak house Julio , Nazim, Joshua, Dorman. Beach and Pool guys. Tasscia our waitress at Breakfast Gabriel rum barman who made great cocktails and coffees in the morning. Spa staff who were great for our treatments.

Wow what an experience! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon in July and we were hoping for a romantic, quiet, luxurious all inclusive experience - Hammock Cove provided all of this and so much more. Our expectations were exceeded. The food was nothing like what you would get at an all inclusive. Every meal we had was gourmet and some of our favorite food we have ever had at any restaurant or all inclusive. Chef Marco and the team put so much care into the work they're doing and would take time every day to come out and talk to you about the meals. The drink experience with Joel, Shawna, Gabriel, Erik, and all of the bartenders, was phenomenal. Joel makes the best espresso martinis you'll ever have, and also taught us how to make his favorite rum old fashion drink so we can make it in the US. Every drink you get will be delicious and tailored yo you if you'd like. Rooms are spacious and clean and the maids came every day. It was so nice to come into the room with fresh towels and a bed made every day. Also, it was by far the quietest most romantic place I've ever been. Going down to the beach in the morning there is no fighting for a chair and it is just quiet and lovely, We are already planning when we will come back.

This was our second trip to Hammock Cove and we have noticed a few changes, both good and bad. The biggest change seems to be in the level of service. The first time we arrived at the resort, attendants were waiting at the entrance to greet us, take our bags, offer a hot towel and a drink. This was such an amazing treat after a long travel day. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen this time. There was no one to greet us at arrival. We only received a drink and towel upon entering the main building on our own. We noticed a pattern of extremely slow service, as the week continued, especially with getting drinks on the beach and food at breakfast. Sometimes you couldn’t get anyone for ages to ask to bring you a drink on the beach. If you went to the bar and ordered yourself, it was a long time before they came. Sometimes 40 minutes or longer for one drink. I ordered some gelato one day on the beach and it took 1.5 hrs to come. I was just packing up to go back to my room when it arrived…..without a spoon. 😂 the waiter said he’d bring one. He never came back. I waited a good while and then left it. This was kind of the status quo of service for the week. Often I felt the waiters/waitresses seemed annoyed or grumpy to take orders. I honestly felt as if it was a bother to request a coffee at times. Not a great feeling after spending so much money. It didn’t matter how pleasant we were or that we tipped as well. Our first time at the resort, the staff was a lot more pleasant. Our room was always stocked with drinks. This time we had to ask when things ran out and we noticed they weren’t refilled. The beach could use some cleaning in regards to the floating pads and buoys that anchor them. The buoys are covered in black and green slime so if you are in the water and they rub up against you, they leave brown/green slime on you. Pretty gross. The underside of these things are a green slime as well, so when people get on and off them, they tip up and slime falls off in long strings where you are floating/swimming. I would also consider adding some soft foam around the stone anchors on the sea floor for these water pads or maybe a vertical buoy marker so you know where it is. More than once, I stubbed my toe on them. Ouch. The food was very good overall. The weakest meal is breakfast in the main building. The eggs are often way overdone and mostly dry. Bacon was often burnt. They seemed to be out of some things each day. One day was ham, then bananas, etc. Just very random. A few times, the orders were wrong. Not a big deal but was just part of the overall drop in attention to detail and service. The rooms are great overall. The tv situation is pretty abysmal. They need to upgrade to smart TVs so you can use your own streaming accounts. The cable tv offerings are very limited. Mostly news and sports. Beds are super comfy. It doesn’t matter greatly as we aren’t there to watch TV but would be nice on a rainy day and late at night when winding down. For a resort of this caliber and price, this upgrade should be a given in 2025. Our room needed a bit of TLC in the bathroom. Some visible patching and stains on the walls. Just a good deep clean would go a long way. Oddly, there was no phone charger anymore in the rooms for the attendant cell phones. Our battery died on day two and we had to organize getting that charged. They had chargers in the rooms the first time we came. A nice addition, however, was the beach bag for use in the room. This was so handy and much appreciated! Would I return? I’m not sure. Leaning towards not. At the price point, things need to improve to the level of service that they used to be. As it is now, there are plenty of other resorts/vacation spots for the price that meet or exceed expectations. If service improves I would return but the overall experience has put me off for now. It’s a shame as our first experience here was impeccable and we were looking forward to this second trip.

We have always regarded Elite Island Resorts as among the very best in the Caribbean. During our second stay at Galley Bay, we obtained a Day Pass and a personal tour of their flagship resort, Hammock Cove, as we had already booked a holiday there for October 2025. What was already excellent became exceptional—the location was breathtaking, and every member of staff we met was among the warmest and most professional in Antigua. As with all Elite resorts, from management to housekeeping, activities, pool staff, bar, and restaurant teams, the service appeared consistently outstanding. The cuisine we experienced at lunch was superb, and the overall resort atmosphere truly first-class. Having been loyal guests for more than 17 years, with over 20 visits across their Caribbean properties and more than £250,000 spent, we were shocked to receive a personal email from the CEO when attempting to book a return visit to Galley Bay in 2026. Not only was our booking declined, but he also authorised the cancellation of our October 2025 reservation at Hammock Cove (Antigua). The only notification we initially received was a short message from our booking agent advising that our reservation had been cancelled. Shortly afterwards, we received a follow-up email from the COO. While stressing that the resorts generally provide guests with a wonderful all-inclusive island experience, he went on to say: “there is no one size fits all when it comes to holiday travel, and no single resort or resort group is perfect for everyone. To that end, we simply feel that our resorts are not the best fit for your future holidays. We wish you the very best with your future travels, even though those travels will NOT include our resorts.” This was followed by instructions to the Director of Sales to cancel our Hammock Cove reservation and issue a full refund. No explanation was provided—simply the door closed on us. After so many years of loyalty, this response left us deeply disappointed and bewildered. In my personal opinion, it appears possible that Elite Island Resorts may be engaging in some form of customer profiling, potentially using social media, to determine which guests fit their preferred profile. If you don’t, you may suddenly find yourself uninvited to return. That said, I cannot fault the quality of the resorts themselves: they remain truly first-class.

There’s a calm that greets you the moment you enter Hammock Cove. Tucked within a gated sanctuary on the island of Antigua, it’s where safety meets serenity—where everything feels protected, yet open enough for your spirit to breathe. The staff here? Exceptional. Genuine warmth that doesn’t need rehearsing. From the first hello to the last goodnight, you feel seen. Cared for. Each villa comes with its own ambassador and a personal cell phone that connects you to them 24/7—room service, dinner reservations, island rides, you name it. I had the pleasure of being cared for by Rayvon, Kenya, and Rondelle—each of them kind, attentive, and effortless in their grace. Every morning, Kenya handpicked fresh flowers for my breakfast table. It’s the smallest details that leave the biggest imprint. The villas are spacious—airy enough for two souls to stretch and still feel at home. Your outdoor space becomes its own world: a private plunge pool, lounge chairs for slow mornings, a dinner table for long talks, and a swinging chair that turns into your personal rhythm. There are multiple bars and restaurants on-site, but The Lighthouse stands apart—a seven-course experience where time slows, and every plate feels like a story. Your ambassador handles all the details, because here, you’re meant to simply be. Hammock Cove isn’t just a stay—it’s a reminder that luxury isn’t about extravagance. It’s about ease. Presence. The kind of peace that follows you long after you’ve left. _Sonia
