The Royalton CHIC in Antigua was a fantastic experience. My fiancé was so worried and absolutely annoying with how many bad reviews she saw on Tik-Tok or Instagram and boy did the resort prove her wrong. For the record, I did tell her stop listening to the angry people on social media because they are just bitter and probably didn't get their ketchup when they asked for in within 30 seconds. I told her to be patient and when we get there we will be fine. We actually got a Bungalow experience on the water and I highly recommend if it is within budget. We were private, on the water, watching the sunrise and sunset. The shower was amazing along with service. Room service is 24/7 at no charge. We were considered part of the diamond club but I don't think that impacts room service. We also had our own butler but TBH we are not needy people. Mind you she was 6months pregnant going on vacation and the resort treated us perfectly human and more. They were more than accommodating. Some of the reviews on social media indicated that staff were mean and those people can hold nuts. The staff at Antigua are so nice and honestly too nice for my taste but polite and always ask if you are okay and/or if need something. They communicate well and out your best interest forward. Housekeeping was great and our AC went out the first night and they fixed it immediately the next morning. We did cause of fuss as there was a second AC in the next room cooling the place because of the Bungalow. If were in a room that didnt have a secondary AC, I am confident they would have provided alternatives at no cost. The food is really good, not amazing but really good. They have gluten free and everything else that someone would want. The Steakhouse and Haven Grill were amazing as we went to each restaurant twice for dinner. Buffet is great and "vibe team" (entertainment) always bring the energy. point is, don't let any bad reviews deter you from your own experience. There operation is set up to help you enjoy and reduce as many pitfalls as possible.

I just wrapped up my 50th birthday celebration at this resort and had an amazing time. Our group of 15 included 10 Diamond Club guests and 5 non-Diamond Club guests, and not a single person had a complaint. The food was fantastic, the staff was attentive and welcoming, check-in was smooth, and the rooms were very nice. I stayed in a Diamond Club swim-out room and had a great experience. While I won’t dismiss anyone else’s experience, I’m honestly surprised by some of the more extreme negative reviews. We experienced none of the issues that others have mentioned. I would absolutely recommend this resort and encourage people to form their own opinions. If you’re looking for a quiet, ultra-serene escape, this may not be the right fit. This resort is clearly designed for adults who enjoy music, dancing, entertainment, and a lively atmosphere with solid accommodations. As I told one guest who complained about noise from the live shows (which were excellent, by the way), you don’t book an adults-only resort and expect entertainment to end on your personal schedule. If that’s what you’re looking for, an Airbnb might be a better option!

I stayed at The Royalton Chic Antigua as a Diamond Club member, and while the resort presents itself as a high-end, luxury experience, it does not consistently deliver—especially for the price point. To begin with the positives, Diamond Club does come with some perks, and the butlers were genuinely friendly and attentive. One standout who deserves specific recognition is Kourtney at the Diamond Club bar. He was by far the best bartender we encountered—professional, welcoming, and consistently pleasant. His service reflected the level of hospitality one would reasonably expect at a resort charging these rates. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming for the price. A few dishes at certain restaurants were good, but most fell well below expectations in both quality and execution. Room service was especially disappointing. The same can be said for the drinks: cocktails were mediocre at best and far from what one would expect from a “luxury” adults-only resort. Service at the bars was another recurring issue. Aside from Kourtney, most of the female bartenders at the other bars appeared visibly annoyed and rarely served guests with a smile. I am a very big tipper and always show appreciation, yet I often felt uncomfortable ordering anything even slightly complicated, as it consistently felt like an inconvenience. The Diamond Club pool bar should also be open longer, particularly given the resort’s premium branding. Activities were another major letdown. For an adults-only resort at this price point, offerings were extremely limited. Options were essentially restricted to sitting by the pool or beach, eating, or drinking, with very few organized or engaging activities available. Safety at the resort beach is also a concern. You must constantly watch your step due to bricks and rocks barely sticking out of the sand. I injured my right foot and nearly broke my left toe because of this. Even more alarming, there was a live electrical wire sticking out of the ground on the beach, as shown in the photo below Housekeeping and room service were also disappointing. On multiple occasions, I left the “please service my room” sign only to return to an untouched room. On one occasion, I asked a staff member to return in half an hour, and they never did. At some point, I returned to my room and the sign was taken away. Additionally, family members staying on the first floor experienced a strong musty, moldy smell in their rooms, which is unacceptable at this price point. For roughly half the cost, I could have stayed at a resort in the Dominican Republic and received far better food, service, activities, and overall value. Would I return? No. This resort feels overrated and does not justify its price.

We had another wonderful stay at Royalton CHIC Antigua, and this was actually our second visit. This resort continues to impress us, and we will definitely be coming back. The beach is beautiful, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available at all times, so there’s never a struggle to find a comfortable spot to relax. The water is gorgeous and perfect for swimming. The specialty restaurants are excellent. We enjoyed the Mediterranean, Steak House, and Italian restaurants — the food quality, presentation, and service were consistently very good and well above what you typically expect at an all-inclusive resort. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. A special thank you to General Manager Ivan and Guest Services Manager Chantelle, who clearly care about guest experience. Also, countless members of the dining room and bar staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The nightly entertainment was pretty good and provided something fun to look forward to each evening without being overwhelming. The gym is well-equipped, offering many exercise options, which was great for keeping up with workouts while on vacation. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a very nice bathroom. We never had any issues with hot water — something that’s unfortunately common at many resorts — which made a big difference in overall comfort. Overall, Royalton CHIC Antigua delivered another fantastic vacation experience. Great food, great staff, a beautiful beach, and consistent quality all around. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

We chose Royalton Chic Antigua because the Royalton brand came highly recommended by friends who had wonderful experiences at the Grenada location. Unfortunately, our stay here didn’t fully live up to those expectations. Service overall was inconsistent and often disappointing. At first, I wondered if it was a cultural difference, but during our excursions around the island, we experienced absolutely amazing service everywhere else, so this felt specific to the resort. Lobby staff were often very short and made interactions feel like an inconvenience. We stayed Diamond Club, which includes access to exclusive pools, bars, and restaurants. While I understand enforcing access, the way it was handled felt abrupt and unwelcoming. Guests who wandered into Diamond Club areas were simply told they were not allowed, without being politely guided or offered alternatives. Our friends room also had visible mold behind the couch. Management declined to move them to another room and instead only cleaned the affected area, which was disappointing. Additionally, when I requested a receipt for my stay (as this is a Marriott property), I was told I would need to add the stay later to receive points. I did eventually receive the points, but to this day I still have not received an actual receipt. That said, the resort is beautiful, modern, and well-designed. The spa and the coffee shop were definite highlights both offered excellent service and were standout experiences during our stay. With improvements in customer service and attention to guest concerns, this resort has strong potential, but as it stands, it fell short of what we expected from the Royalton brand.
