This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I booked two rooms; one with two full sized doubles and one king bed. The room with the king bed was an upgraded room; however there was no king bed. My husband and I told the receptionist and we were told that the king beds were actually full sized double beds. So, false advertisement and a lie. The receptionist actually said "well it's New York. " We have stayed at the Hilton and Holiday Inn in Manhattan and had actual king sized beds. The A/C did not work. We tried to adjust it from the wall unit, but the box fell off the wall and we could not adjust the temp. The phone did not work the first night so we called the next morning. The maintenance man 'fixed it' but it was never cold and the vent leaked all over the half of the room where the vent was located. The website showed a bar, but neglected to tell us it's being renovated. So, there was no bar on site. The elevators were the slowest and as most of them did not work, the wait was 15 minutes and longer each trip. The window blinds were not working so we had great difficulty lifting and lowering the blinds. The other room with the 2 double beds was worse. The carpet was disgusting. It smelled and looked old and haggard. The balcony, while a nice thought, looked like a dirty alley way, couldn't use it. The door leading to the balcony had spider webs with black duct tape all over. The furniture was dirty and old. Also no refrigerator or microwave.

Review for The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel We stayed here for two nights on our first visit to New York City. The best part of the hotel is its location — right in the heart of Times Square, which made it easy to explore the city on foot without needing our car. That convenience was a big plus. However, our experience with the hotel itself was disappointing. Most of the staff, including the front desk, bellhop, and waitstaff, came across as quite rude, even after we offered tips as a kind gesture. Only one lady during our stay was kind and helpful, which stood out. Our initial room was very small — barely enough space to open our suitcases on the floor. It had an old, noisy AC and a tiny bathroom, which didn’t match what we expected, especially for the price we paid (around $700). After raising our concerns and paying extra, we were finally moved to a better room that was more spacious, quieter, and comfortable. One incident that really stood out was when we returned to the hotel to use the restroom and were denied access to our own room because it was being cleaned. We were asked to wait and couldn’t use the restroom in the meantime, which felt unreasonable. We ended up having to go to a nearby McDonald’s instead. Overall, while the hotel’s location is unbeatable, the service and room quality left a lot to be desired for the cost. We enjoyed the city itself, but I wish our hotel experience had matched the energy and hospitality we felt outside.

**Do Not Be Misled by the Star Rating – This Is Not a Four-Star Hotel** I stayed at The Manhattan at Times Square this week for two nights at a cost of \$1,000. It was advertised as a four-star property, but based on the condition of the facilities and room, it would be a generous stretch to call it even a two-star. The room and hotel overall were in poor condition. The hallway carpets were bunched and water-stained, suggesting possible flooding. My room had peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, bubbled wallpaper pulling away from the walls, a wobbly and grimy showerhead, loose and broken sink handles, a stained and broken lamp (one of which didn’t even work), damaged and scratched furniture, and a dangerously elevated tile threshold in the bathroom that I tripped over repeatedly. Multiple outlets were so loose they could not securely hold a plug, and many of the basic fixtures (from lamps to air conditioning units) were in visible disrepair. The only positives: the sheets were clean, the toilet appeared relatively new, and there were no visible signs of bed bugs. There was a 20-minute line at the front desk every time I went by to try to speak with someone. And, while I know we are all human and have bad days, I watched a manager scold a front desk clerk to move faster, yet he made no attempt to assist or open another station to alleviate the wait. I understand that NYC hotels can be expensive and availability can be limited, but this property is misrepresented in its rating and pricing. I would not recommend this hotel unless absolutely no other options are available.

The location is incredibly convenient. The rooms were very nice and appeared to be either newly renovated or recently built. There was a delay in the room allotment but they obliged and offered a temporary room. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, which made for a pleasant stay. ELIDA did an excellent job in room maintenance. She was very welcoming and lively and kept extra supplies on days she wasn’t around. While the space was a bit on the compact side, it wasn’t an issue for us given how excellent the location was. Overall, a great choice if you’re looking for comfort and convenience.

Had a renovated room. It was clean and nice. Comfy bed and all was good. They forgot to put towel hooks. Had to use hangers. Seems to be no insulation in the walls. We could hear people next door, in the hall, ice machine going (3 rooms away) and the “ding” from the elevator. It wasn’t horrible but it was there. Great location. Easy walk to everything we wanted to do. The bell hops/concierge was amazing. Those guys were all so friendly and helpful. Will stay again.
