Wonderful overall experience in the perfect location! When I walked into this bustling hotel in the middle of NYC, I was immediately welcomed by the front desk employee named Carolyn. She was expecting me as my friend had already checked in. I was taken aback by her attentiveness and hospitality. The fact that she knew who I was and gave me her beautiful smile was so unexpected. She got us into our rooms quickly and referred us to the concierge to figure out what show we were going to go to. The concierge recommended an incredible show, and we felt he knew everything. It was fantastic to hear him explain what each show was about! Another thing that stood out was the cleaning staff. They work so hard and maintain such a friendly demeanor, always checking in and saying hello. They exuded such light and energy which goes such a long way even in the smallest interactions. At the end of the trip, we saw Carolyn again and she wanted to know everything we did and if we had a good time. I really want to say thank you to the Park Central Hotel, and especially Carolyn, for a personal experience.

The location is fantastic and can't be beat. However, the rooms and service leaves a bit to be desired. There was no welcome or even bit of friendliness from the staff, just seemed very transactional. I definitely expected and have seen much better from other "4 star" hotels. The rooms were adequate but definitely starting to show its age, and the bathroom really needed a good cleaning. I could see black mold/mildew around the sink and other areas in the bathroom.

The 1 star for service is for housekeeping and maintenance only The service of the concierge team was 5 stars. The only good thing about the hotel is the convenience of the location. Close to Central Park and walkable to Time Square. The hotel lobby is ample and clean but that is about the only areas that are clean. The gym had a strong smell of burn plastic. The corridors on the upper floors and the rooms have carpet and it is not well keep. The room was dirty and look run down, We found stained sheets on the bedroom and we thought the shower curtain smelled like mold. There were signs of black mold grow on the edge of the tile / tub joint and on the vanity countertop. (have pictures) We requested the bed sheets and the shower curtain be replaced, but it didn't happen. We had to requested again on day 2, this time it was addressed, the mold smell didn't change so the carpet must be what holds the smell. It shows that is time for upgrades are needed. The furniture in the room is very old, has black paint chipping away. The 1 chair in the room had the upholstery broken. The concierge team were nice and efficient.

But Park Central Hotel not only impressed me, they truly earned my respect. I stayed here on business during a particularly challenging time for the hotel: they were transitioning their entire reservation system, which was unexpectedly down for three full days. This kind of disruption can be catastrophic for guest experience—but the staff handled it with the kind of grace, professionalism, and resilience that is becoming all too rare. Despite the circumstances, the front desk team remained calm and composed—even when facing entitled and at times, downright rude behavior from guests who refused to understand that technical issues were beyond the control of the agents. Frankly, I found myself wishing I could step in and remind people what patience and kindness look like. A special shoutout to Brian in Sales, who was an absolute rock—steady, proactive, and sincerely committed to making things right for everyone involved. The housekeeping staff kept everything spotless and cheerful. The bell staff was helpful, welcoming, and never let the chaos behind the scenes touch the guest experience. Everyone wore the stress well, without ever compromising the guest-first attitude that defines true hospitality. This team turned what could have been a disaster into a case study in poise and professionalism. My highest compliments to the entire staff for a job beautifully executed under extreme pressure. If you’re considering a stay at Park Central, rest assured: you’re in exceptional hands.

I paid for 2 double beds and they put me in a 1 King bed room. They said they had nothing else available and it was that or nothing and it was 11:00 at night so I had no other options. I asked for extra blankets and pillows because my daughter had to sleep on the floor. They had no extra blankets and only a sheet and a couple of pillows. If that wasn’t bad enough the shower didn’t work. You had to hold the button to make the shower head stay on. I first asked for a refund for the difference between the 2 bed and 1 bed room but they refused. After all of the other issues I asked for a full refund and that was also refused. The best they could do was refund me the $40 resort fee. I will never stay there again.
