I always stay at this hotel every time I visit New York because I love the location. The rooms are fine, always clean, and I don’t usually ask for much, even though it’s not cheap. However, during my recent stay over Thanksgiving, my family and I were there for about four nights, and the service at front desk was honestly a joke. When we arrived (around 11pm), we were told there was no room available, even though we made our reservation back in March. We ended up waiting almost 2 hours because the receptionist couldn’t get any communication or updates from the service team. Only after that long wait did housekeeping finally confirm they had a room ready for us. We were also told that, because of the delay, we would be given a room with a beautiful view. Instead, the “beautiful view” we got was the lovely wall of the building right next to the hotel. I would honestly prefer that they don’t promise anything at all rather than lie just to make the situation seem better. Overall, it was extremely disappointing, especially considering how much we paid and how many times we’ve stayed at this hotel before.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a BA package. We went to check in and got told it would be an hour later. Went back and hour later and still no room. After going up again, they told us they didn't have a room for us, offering a different one. After bit of an argument, they found us our original room. I just felt there was a lack of communication and customer service, not what you want after a flight. Once in the room, it's a nice room, clean and modern. Housekeeping come in every day to make the bed and take trash which is a nice touch. For us, being out all day every day, the room was perfect, although, the tv did not work, I got given a towel which was literally falling apart one day when housekeeping came in. The bathroom has no fan so got very steamy, if you are fussy about air temp please picture. The location is perfect, close to time square, central park, subway right outside. Target 7 minute walk away (the best stocked one we went to). You can drop your bags at check in and check out. Overall an ok stay, just a shame about customer service from the downstairs staff and some minor issues. Also heard at least three other parties mention this during our stay. Elevators need improving as well...

Park Central Hotel has an excellent location in the heart of Manhattan, making it a very convenient choice for travelers who want to explore New York City on foot. The hotel is just steps from Central Park and close to Times Square, with countless restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and shops all around. It is also located directly across from Carnegie Hall, which adds to the prime location value. Because of this unbeatable location, the hotel is extremely busy with a very high daily turnover of guests. Unfortunately, this also shows in the condition of the rooms. The rooms are in need of upgrades and better maintenance. They feel worn and do not match the level you would expect for such a central Manhattan hotel. The lobby and main floor restaurant are pleasant and lively, especially with the live music, which creates a nice atmosphere for relaxing and hanging out in the evening. However, the hotel does not offer amenities such as a pool, sauna, or spa. This is truly a practical Manhattan hotel meant for sleeping overnight and spending the rest of your time exploring the city. Overall, Park Central Hotel is ideal for travelers who prioritize location in Manhattan, walkability, and proximity to Central Park and Times Square, but not luxury or hotel amenities.

To start: it is an older building. The lobby is really pretty and inviting and the lounge was nice and warm. The elevators were either working or not working throughout the duration of our trip, so do some back workouts to prep if you’re bringing g a stroller (the stairs are wide at least, so there’s a plus). The staff was really sweet and you can tell everyone is trying their best to make it a positive experience. We are a military family who have stayed in many TLF’s so we’ve seen some really crappy rooms, and these were not that. Was the door in the bathroom peeling from the bottom? Yes. Were there hairs in the bathroom that didn’t belong to us? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No. Ask for the extra towels because 2 is not enough, especially with a baby. The housekeeping staff was really sweet and accommodating, especially with a baby and poopy diapers. The room was spacious enough to fit the pack and play and stroller and not feel crowded. Overall the hotel was really nice and we enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend doing a once over with a Clorox wipe if you want to bathe the baby in the tub, but like I said, you can tell a lot of effort is going into making this a positive experience for people staying here, but it may not meet those with high standards. We didn’t have any bugs or any hideous experience, but it’s also not a 5-star resort, so keep that in mind as well. It was a nice hotel and the location was perfect for what we needed.

I stayed in the park central for 6 nights. we pre-paid for 2 rooms through expedia. We got there early (8am) and they didnt have rooms available so we checked in and paid for the additional $600 deposit per room of which we were told we would get most of it back when we checked out minus the destination charges. We also bag checked our luggage. We explored the city for a bit and I called the hotel around 1pm to ask if they had rooms avaliable, which they did so we went back to the hotel. When we got there they were in the process of getting our rooms situated. My friend was checking in his room and the front desk person saw no charges on the room but there was a credit card. He decided to just hit charge again for the $600 deposit for a 2nd time. which at this point bounced on the debit card because not only did the hotel put the 1st $600 hold on the card they also charged him for the room amount, which we already pre-paid. They front desk person was rude and unapologetic about the situation and said that someone from billing will fix the issue. so we went upstairs to settle in and shower off the airport germs. Throughout the trip they kept telling us that they were working on the issue and being very dismissive. One of the days they told us that they reversed the charges and and it in now in the banks hands to release the hold on my friends money. after talking to the bank they told a different story and they were still waiting for the hotel to do something about it. on the very last night we went back to the hotel and my friends key card for their room wasnt working. After 2 different new cards from the front desk the person at the front desk found that they had put a hold on the room. They were stopping him from entering the room because they didnt have a record of the destination fees being paid. we explained the situation and told him their is still a $600 hold on my friends account but he wouldnt listen to us and insisted the only way back in to the room is he charged us the fee. After a few more attempts I paid the fee just so that we could move on and get into our rooms. The morning of our flight home we checked out and I requested a receipt for our 2 rooms to show the charges. they showed the charges and reversals on my friends room but mine was empty. I asked the front desk person to explain it and she said they didnt charge anything to my card. she called it weird and said I should be happy that they didnt charge me. our Uber was waiting for us so I couldn't question any mlre. I thought it was fishy so on the Uber ride to the aimore. so I checked my Credit card account and saw that they also charged me for the full room rate and for 3 other charges that I had I no idea about. I called the hotel for an explanation from the airport and they told me the system was having an issue and that they would email me. I called again when I landed 9 hrs later and they said a manager would get back to you. I called this morning now 12hrs later and the manager said she will look into it. I am fully convinced this hotel is being run by a bunch of thieves who charge people's cards and hope they dont check it. I probably wouldnt be so mad about this situation if the staff weren't so dismissive and blaming others. They gave us every excuse in the book to make us go away. I would suggest to anyone staying here to check your account statements. If you haven't booked and are looking for a hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE. on top of the financial issues we had we also had the housekeeping staff opening our door at 11pm. saying they thought it was already checked out. we had the "do not disturd" sign on the door handle. the TV didnt work. the AC blew hot air constantly and made the room feel like a sweatbox. the vent in the bathroom didnt work. this place is all around just a horrible place to stay
