So many places to visit, so little time. How do you decide where to book your next holiday to? When all else fails, why not look to the stars?

Reading the skies and seeing what the astral bodies have in store for us is an increasingly popular pastime. Searches for ‘astrology predictions’ are trending up 84% and #astrology on TikTok has 73.1 billion views - the stars are very much in our eyes. Maybe it’s because there’s so much uncertainty out there about… well, pretty much everything, it can be nice to get some suggestions on what the right thing to do is.

With that in mind, here at Destination2 we started thinking about which holiday destination is best suited to each star sign. Some of us want heat, some of us prefer snowier climes - but is there any more to it than that? We got in touch with some astrology and horoscope experts for their insight, so you can know the stars are aligned when you book your next getaway…

Aries - Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai holidays are perfect for Aries (and also Virgo), according to Melody J at Ask the Answer . With countless exciting night markets, awe-inspiring temples and incredible ancient architecture, almost anyone will be captivated by Chiang Mai, but Aries’ foodie nature will leave them blown away in this street food paradise!

Chiang Mai is busy, vibrant and mysterious, so Virgo’s need for stimulation will be more than met, whereas Aries' natural bravery and need to explore will have them hopping on the famous Songthaew taxis and trekking into the surrounding jungles!

Taurus - Dubai

Ashley Cramer, Founder of Lunar Alignment, nominates dazzling Dubai holidays for those born between April 20th and May 20th. “Taurus, the bull, has two speeds – standing still or charging – and Dubai’s mix of golden beaches and modern city life gives Taurus many options for either mood.

This dream destination will give Gemini, the sign of communication, plenty to share on Instagram or to tell friends about when they return home.”

Cancer - Turkey

Holidays to Turkey are the one for Cancerians, says Inbaal Honigman , celebrity psychic and astrologer. “For Cancer, family and connections are everything. So, Cancer’s perfect holiday would accommodate young and old, with weather that suits all, and a cuisine for every palate.”

Turkey’s generally pleasant and warm climate, mix of historic ruins and bustling cities, and range of great family-friendly hotels, make it a great choice. Beaches, shopping, gourmet cuisine, adventure - there’s something for everyone on this short-haul holiday.

Leo - Las Vegas, USA

Las Vegas is the best destination for Leo, according to Inbaal. “Leo is the ‘king of the zodiac’, the lion, and Leos love living life on their terms.”

Inbaal suggests that luxury is often important to those born between July 23rd and August 22nd, so the best Leo holidays should be special, unforgettable, and preferably luxe. Sin City’s gilded casinos, high-end resorts and unabashed glamour make Las Vegas a great choice for Leos.

Virgo - Cancun, Mexico

Virgos are known for their planning and organisation, but the best holidays for Virgos are ones that get them away from their spreadsheets, according to Ashley at Lunar Alignment.

An all-inclusive holiday in Cancun,Mexico allows Virgos to have a carefree break – one where they can relax, enjoy the resort amenities, and focus only on the white sand beaches and colourful Mexican sunsets.

Libra - Italy

Beautiful architecture, incredible food and world-class wine mean this is the ultimate place for romantic meals on holiday, though there’s plenty of culture and adventure to explore too.

Scorpio - New York, USA

Scorpio is known as the most intense star sign in the Zodiac, so they need a holiday destination that’s as bold as they are. Enter, the Big Apple -New York is the best holiday for Scorpios.

“Always a fan of looking beyond first appearances, Scorpios will find their inquisitive side absolutely satisfied with The Big Apple’s endless opportunities to explore,” says Melody J. The problem will be narrowing down your list of must-dos to fit it all in - from seeing the views from atop the Empire State Building to strolling Central Park, there’s always something waiting to be explored.

Sagittarius - Marrakesh, Morocco

Because Sagittarius is the traveller of the Zodiac, says Ashley of Lunar Alignment, they desire vibrant, exotic destinations with new discoveries at every turn. So, a trip to Marrakesh is the best holiday idea for a Sagittarius.

With old and new coming together in the city, and easy access to adventure in the Atlas Mountains and sights along the coast, there’s so much to do and see in Morocco’s Jewel in the South that even a Sagittarius could never get bored.

Capricorn - Sri Lanka

Capricorns' need for excitement and relaxation will be more than catered for with a holiday to Sri Lanka ! Melody J says that because they are natural workaholics, Capricorns need to get as far away as possible from their daily life to really unwind.

While their craving for new experiences can leave them struggling to take it slowly, Sri Lanka’s combination of beautiful beaches, delicious food, stunning countryside, captivating culture and beguiling towns and cities will keep Capricorns more than satisfied.

Aquarius - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Holidays to Siem Reap are all about exploration, and Aquarius travellers are known for their fondness of alternative outlooks and a tendency to focus on the spiritual side of life.

Aquarius travellers will fall in love with Siem Reap. Exciting markets, a vibrant nightlife and stunning architecture make Siem Reap a great destination for anybody, but Aquarius signs will find Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world, absolutely irresistible, says Melody J.

Pisces - Maldives

Maldives holidays are a favourite for many, but are absolutely perfect for those born under the Pisces sign. Pisceans are all about water - being near lakes, seas and the ocean helps recharge those batteries and get that holiday feeling. Islands are ideal for Pisces holidaymakers - here they can “feel solitude and bother about nothing and connect with their inner voice, away from the hustle and bustle of the world around,” says Alice at Futurio.
