This is a lovely relaxed small hotel , the rooms are large and have everything you need , lots of coat hangers and fluffy towels, a bit dated but clean and well serviced. The staff are amazing, I was unwell and they brough honey and ginger to the room without being asked . All the staff were excellent friendly and professional. The food was very good , I’m difficult to please as I don’t eat fish or most meats but the choice was good , well presented and not buffet service . The spa ladies were very good and fitted me in last minute. The beach though small is very pretty , good service of drinks, watermelon and ice coolers . I would recommend the hotel and hope to stay again soon,

The hotel is definitely not 4 stars, the rooms are old and have weird smell. The beach is nice, staff was friendly but condition of the room was just a deal breaker. The quality of food was below average. Not bad for a 1 night stay while you wait for your cruise

I can't help but think that there must be 2 Waves Hotel & Spa. Our version is a 3 star hotel with staff who confuse laid-back with indifference. Our room is tired, in fact much of the hotel is. The adult only area is closed alongwith the main pool, gardens, fitness centre and spa. The food is generally dreadful. They seem to have embraced the "fusion" concept without understanding that it requires an understanding of ingredients that can work well together. Last night I wanted the pork vindaloo, it came with sticky rice and kimchi. We have struggled to eat even half of the food on our plates, what a waste. The promotional words for the hotel talk of ambassadors who are here to make our holiday a memorable experience. I have yet to find such a person. The beach is now reduced to a narrow strip which is crammed with sunbeds. I asked about taking out a hobie, I got zero response. We leave tomorrow, we are already packed.

Marriott Where to start? I start with a bad points of this hotel the family pool/children’s cut my little daughters feet many times as there sharp stones on the steps and on the side of pool.. there is not many sun lounges around the pool and when you look up you see the dirty roadside grit on the face of the hotel, plus with a noise of the main road next door, it is not ideal by 12 o’clock, there is no sunshine by this area and the pool it is like getting into a plunge pool as the average temperature works out to be around 25° according to my Apple Watch Ultra… the decking around this pool is also coming up and if you’re not care for your trip over it like I’ve done on many times.. The adult only pool is not finished and when I asked why is such a small pool they pointed out the adults pool is twice as big. This does not make sense to me and they said they didn’t want children crossing the road, but it’s okay for when you go to the Thai restaurant then and they had no answer for that one…. The beach is too small for the hotel, and they crème you in like little sardines on your sun lounges ..Sandy Beach have are big rocks/stones in the sea and if the waves are heavy enough they will take your ankles out and you end up flat on your back in the sea .. there is a fridge in the room but they do not supply anything to go in it so we spent around US$150 filling it with chocolate sweets crisps as I do not supply crisps in this hotel till after 6 o’clock at night .. they have a random coffee shop which which could be turned into a nice size restaurant as it is that big… the roof leaks and we had to move rooms due to the fact, the water was running down the walls and onto the floor.. we only had one shower door, so the water run out and flooded the bathroom on many occasions… as well as our toilet kept getting blocked .... the entertainment is not the best to be honest …now the good points the rooms are very clean as well as the hotel.. the staff is willing to help with any of your issues or problems, and they do that at most best to help you out.. the food standard is very high and with a free hotels we tried it is the best out of the group on this side of the island to be honest, this hotel is missing a well factor when it could easily have an Infiniti pool, overhanging the sea/beach the other end of the coffee shop as it is big enough and what a featured that would be

Second visit to Waves and still fantastic. Staff were amazing again, great food and cocktails (thanks Kenny), and Mount Gay XO 😂 Also excellent watersports and free water taxi up the coast. Great location for offsite activities, all of which Kevin will take care of for you!
