I like this hotel but it is absolutely no frills and not what you would expect from a Radisson property. The hotel is quite outdated which is one thing (we don't always need modern if the basics standards are met), but this hotel has clear signs of neglect especially with the cracking concrete walls and floors. Also, the sitting area near the lobby smelled like sewage. At times it was quite unpleasant to sit there. The gym smelled like mold, there are no umbrellas for the pool loungers, and not each beach lounger had umbrellas (about half of them did). The restaurant is quite expensive for what it is actually worth and it's the only place in the hotel where service is sub-par. Service here was quite lovely so it's the saving grace of the hotel. Judy at reception was quite a darling. So kind, so attentive, and so accommodating. The staff here are quite kind and I'm sure the neglect of refurbishments is beyond their control. So yes, the hotel is dated, amenities could be better, and yes you might see people walking under the jetty that is the restaurant to cross over to the other side of the beach, but I would recommend it because of the price and the fact that it has everything you need. One just has to manage their expectations and potentially venture out for meals and other activities. This was the second hotel I stayed in during my 2 week stay in Bim. First was the Hilton further up the gap, and then the Radisson. The Radisson has its charm and warmth, and the location is quite ideal.

I stayed at the Radisson Aquatica Hotel For one week with one other person, and was unpleasantly surprised at the accommodations. The structure is old and weathered. Weeds were growing out of the balcony cracks and crevices. Initially, upon check in, I was given a room which wasn’t equal to what I purchased on line. The issue was addressed by the front desk and our room was switched to a partial ocean view. Unfortunately the view of the roof top with solar panels was an eyesore. There was a noticeable unpleasant sulfur smell in the elevators on the day of my arrival and thereafter. Also the fire alarm was not functioning and there appeared to be black mold on the walls. The bottom of the bathroom door had water damage. We were rationed a bottle of water per day. All other amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas were not included. The hotel offered buffet style meals at a cost; The food lacked flavor. On the last night of our stay there was a water main break that lasted for several hours. We were not offered additional water to wash up. We were unable to use the bathrooms in any part of the hotel. The only option was to beg the restaurants on the beach to use their facilities. The week at that substandard hotel was over $1,400.00 . The only saving grace were the staff trying to hold that sinking ship together, and the daily horse bathing on the beach. I will not ever recommend the Radisson to anyone I care about. The Owners should be ashamed of themselves. It appears that maintenance is minimal and fees are maximum. God Bless the staff for keeping that place together.

⭐⭐ Radisson Barbados – Disappointing 10-Night Stay We stayed at the Radisson Barbados for 10 nights and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The breakfast buffet was extremely basic and felt more like a budget hotel than a Radisson. Every day it was largely the same: deep-fried bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, fish cakes, plantain, a few tiny pastries, melon, grapes, kiwi, and a couple of other fruits. There was a basic omelette station. After a long stay, the lack of variety became very frustrating. One member of staff in the breakfast area, Jeanette, really stood out as friendly and helpful — sadly she was the exception. Housekeeping was very poor. My sons were actually told off by cleaners for their room not being tidy — they are on holiday. Towels were not replaced, water was not restocked, and we were left without toilet roll on more than one occasion. The pool is extremely small, with no towels provided and not enough loungers. The beach area also lacked sufficient loungers. Most of the beach staff were rude and argumentative. One staff member named Shane stood out positively; the rest made interactions uncomfortable rather than welcoming. We also had a frustrating experience with food service at the beach. We ordered three pizzas to our sun loungers. There was confusion over the order, and we were told that “in their culture” a margherita is considered a vegetable pizza, despite our friends clearly ordering margherita, pepperoni, and vegetable. The staff member made a mistake but refused to acknowledge it or resolve the issue, which again came across as argumentative rather than customer-focused. The rooms are very basic, the beds are very small, and overall the rooms feel tired and outdated. To make matters worse, security accused my husband of lying about which room we were staying in, which was completely unacceptable and embarrassing. This hotel could be amazing, as the location is good and we hired cars to get around easily. However, the hotel needs a full refresh, and the staff urgently need proper training in all areas of hospitality. Overall, this was not the standard expected from the Radisson brand, and we would not return unless significant improvements are made

Disappointing stay – well below expectations I’ve travelled to Barbados many times and stayed in a wide range of accommodation, from luxury to very basic. Unfortunately, this was my worst experience overall at Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados. The beach area is poorly managed with nowhere near enough loungers, and the staff were generally rude or argumentative. The only exceptions were Jeanette and Shane, who genuinely tried to help and are the main reason this isn’t a one-star review. The facilities are very tired and clearly in desperate need of refurbishment. Food options are extremely limited and nowhere near worth the prices being charged. Ironically, a nearby food truck despite having very poor visual hygiene served better food at far better value, which is not what you expect from a Radisson-branded hotel. Before this trip, I had spoken very highly of Barbados and convinced a good friend to travel with his family. That unfortunately ended in embarrassment due to a complete failure in delivering basic hospitality from day one. A clear example: my friend ordered a margarita pizza and was given a vegetarian pizza. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the staff member tried to argue that in “Bajan culture” a vegetarian pizza is considered a margarita. This is absolute nonsense and felt insulting to our intelligence. To be fair, the hotel managers were apologetic and did attempt to make things right, but in reality very little changed. As a side note, a dead pigeon was left on the roof of the restaurant, clearly visible, for almost my entire stay even after I personally mentioned it to the general manager four days in. I would not recommend this hotel at all until there are serious improvements to staff attitude and a full refurbishment of the property.

This is a review for the service of the Front Desk staff, Gisele. I didn’t stay here but had a tour booked for pickup from here. There was an issue with the tour company and I was canceled last minute, while already waiting for them. Only in Barbados for one day and already missing most morning pickup times for tours (and not prepared for a beach visit since I was planning a driving tour), I was disappointed and faced with no plan or itinerary and traveling as a solo woman. Even though I wasn’t a guest, Gisele helped me by calling around to find available tours and pricing for me. She saved my day by finding a good option that would even pick me up at the hotel and drop me back at the cruise port. Really kind and friendly service here at the Radisson. Thank you Gisele!
