I've been privileged to stay at a few 5 star resorts around the world and I have to say that this resort and the experience was truly beyond compare and I cannot rave highly enough about my experience from start to finish. We booked the hotel the day of our arrival in KK after realizing we were not prepared to stay at our previously booked accommodation...upon arrival we were upgraded to a beautiful oceanview premium suite in the Ocean Wing - wow!! If you can find it in your budget to book Ocean Wing at this resort it is far and away worth it. The room was spectacular with a huge tub on the balcony, large bathroom with high end showerhead and also a large dressing room - plus the most comfortable bed I've slept on! Staff was impeccable - always opening car doors, greeting us with exceptional kindness and going above and beyond any way they could to make our trip special. Worth every last penny of the experience & I cannot recommend it highly enough!

A Truly Memorable Stay! The staff at Shangri-La were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. The food was absolutely amazing. We had never been so satisfied! Special thanks to Mr. Charlie, who assisted us countless times to ensure we had the best dining experiences. Overall, it was a holiday well spent, filled with warm hospitality and out-of-this-world experiences!

Me, my husband (Jay) and our little girl stayed here during our first few days in Sabah. It was such a pleasant stay, we left with a very very heavy heart. Each and every staff here made us feel so much at home. Thank u Miss Sharleen and the rest of the team for being so kind and generous . We stayed in the garden wing. It was a well equipped ,spacious room. There's ample of activities provided by the hotel. The facilities here are all well maintained and kept clean. The food was good too. Perfect place for families who love nature and want to be away from the hustle and bustle of life. This was by far the best hotel me and my family have stayed in. Thank you for the great experience and hospitality. We will be back surely ! :)

Breakfast staff’s service was terrible. We’d to leave hotel early in the morning and wanted to quickly grab some bread for the road and was stopped by the staff. Their initial reason was food safety, which I mentioned that I’ll assume all responsibility for it. Later, he brought his manager over, and they’d actually just want us to pay for the takeaway since it’s a “complimentary” breakfast. Although it’s protocol, I’d very much like for them to be more human about it because we only took two pieces of bread and not the entire tray for ourselves. For service recovery, them understanding from our pov would be far valuable than mentioning how they’d like to charge us for two pieces of bread when they’ve already charged us far greater in value for their poor services and poor hotel’s living condition. I’ve also asked them twice if they’d rather waste and throw the bread away than letting us takeaway. Both staff and manager agreed that they’d rather waste food. In terms of room service, it takes them a great deal of time to react and help us with our simple requests like getting extra bottles of water etc. All in all, a very lousy experience for us stay at this hotel. If you’re a reader reading this and think that I’m overreacting, wait till you spend thousand over dollars just to be treated poorly. It’s one thing to experience an average standard of service and still write a great review because your experience at the hotel’s wonderful, and it’s another when the bad service happens to you whilst everything else about this hotel is below average.

Booked a deluxe garden-wing connecting room for me, my wife and five children. Right from arrival the service at the hotel was top-notch and we felt extremely taken care of throughout. The children especially enjoyed the time at the swimming pool and the buffet breakfast in the morning was also a strong motivation to wake up at 6am. While there was a minor hygiene issue on the last day, the staff service recovery was extremely good and we highly commend the front desk manager Sylver for his dedication to his work.
