We had an overall fantastic experience at the Royalton Antigua between November 5th and 13th, 2025! From the moment we arrived at the resort to when we left, the staff were excellent and very attentive. (Special shoutout to Thomas, Davia, Vernon, Margo, Marva, Orvenia, Burns, Chesley and taxi driver with the association at the hotel Kimmy)! These folks all went above and beyond with their kindness and service, which really stood out to us. Thank you! We found the resort itself to be very well laid out, cleaned and maintained at all times (including the beach, which is maintained and cleaned throughout the day). The resort was at full capacity throughout our stay, but it never felt overcrowded or too busy to enjoy. The free water amenities were always available for use and we found the general vibe to be top notch. To no fault of anyone, I would say the food was sometimes excellent and sometimes mid. I suspect that when catering to a large group of mostly North Americans and British tourists, the chef teams might not have the freedom to stray away from basic foods. We would have loved to see some authentic local food options in the buffet and Caribbean restaurant, but chose to get off resort a couple of times and experience the authentic local cuisine. The lobster in Barbuda and Conch water + Roti from St. John’s were very memorable. Overall, such an excellent experience and would absolutely come back + recommend to anyone!

The staff provided very good service overall; however, there were several issues during our stay. The bar frequently lacked ingredients, which made it difficult to prepare drinks. Items were also missing from the room, such as snacks and towels, and I had to use beach towels to shower. When dining at the restaurant, many menu items were unavailable, and it was nearly impossible to make a reservation — this process should be much easier. Additionally, room service could benefit from offering more food options. That said, the staff themselves were very good and did their best despite these challenges.

Bottom line: gorgeous island, but if food, hospitality/service, and a well-appointed room matter, stay somewhere else. Was there for 5 days in Junior Suite + Diamond Club. The biggest problem is food and dining. Across basically every option (buffet, room service, restaurants), the overall quality was giving hospital cafeteria: bland, inconsistent, and poorly executed. Every fish/lobster/steak was overcooked or oddly seasoned. The menus, wine selection, and meals weren’t enjoyable anywhere on the property. Room service was especially rough. Second biggest issue is service. Staff are friendly, but the hospitality training isn’t there for a place marketed as “easy luxury.” Service felt unpolished and indifferent across bars, restaurants, and pool areas, and servers couldn’t answer basic questions (like anything about the wines). Diamond Club wasn’t a more elevated experience than regular guests. Again: do not waste your money. Spa looks nice but hydrotherapy was lukewarm and not impressive. Massage was decent. Gym and equipment were amazing. Overall, this stay felt like a low-budget cruise in all the ways.

Arrived tonight, room for family of four, very expensive over Christmas. Smaller than a single sofa bed for two kids. Suitcases supposed to be taken to room, 4 in the room one missing, thankfully we found it lying out in the open abandoned outside. Hoping they put a roll up bed in the room tonight, sofa bed not made up and no bedding for it, didn't spend £14k gbp to make my own bed. Buffet restaurant most cooking stations had nobody at them, poor selection of food, drink service arrived after finished dinner. Probably poorest selection of buffet food I have seen in 20 years of all inclusive and slowest drinks service. Pool table in sports bar out of order as missing a pocket, easy fix hopefully done in next few days but might be wishful thinking. Went to Royalton splash in Mexico last year had similar initial issues with no bedding seems to be a theme although much eager to fix problems there. Hopefully can only get better as really poor start, will see if we get an appropriate room tomorrow, no way spending 2 weeks with kids not having a bed. Now asked three times for the sofa bed to be made and roll up bed but nothing in the room. Now at 24 hours travelling and no beds for children. 2 days in and still no room change, hopefully today have to be out room at 12 and new room won't be ready till 15:00 - 17:00 Restaurants fully booked so have to go to buffet restaurant, did manage to book restaurants for next few days although that was only after arguing to get it booked. Vibe team at beach are excellent. Upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars now that I have spent 2 weeks there. General theme is things don't work and don't get fixed, pool table out of action full time, cash machine out of order and from previous reviews been like that for months. Alternative to cash machine is pay the hotel a 10% premium on top of there exchange rate which is below what it should. About a third of the staff are excellent and friendly, a third clueless but still try and help and the other third rude and incompetent. Had to tell one of the restaurant managers to tell the waitress to smile or get someone else to serve me, would look away and grunt when bringing drinks ... very slowly. Grunting and not acknowledging you very common from bar and waiting staff as if you have inconvenienced them. Service in many places extremely slow for food and drink and sometimes you just take the wrong thing they give you as Alternative is to go without or get it after the rest of your party has finished. A la carte restaurants mediocre and service variable. Booking is hit or miss as not supposed to be able to book till 3 days before but told that some restaurants were booked out for next 5 days, not sure how that happens. Buffet some nights good when more cooking stations open and the non grunting chefs are on. General theme of like warm dinners throughout, maybe that is the temperature dinner is served there but I am used to hot dinners being hot. All round communication very poor, staff don't explain things just walk away leaving you standing for ages. Got charged for a manicure we didn't have, took over 45 minutes to tell them to go and check cameras or ask the spa staff to confirm it wasn't anybody in our party. Think the delay was trying to find who got the free manicure, I don't really care about that and they can work it out in there time not mine. Beach and pool area excellent, most of vibe team great although some a bit lazy. Advertised activities not quite what is displayed several partly due to lack of customer participation but sometimes just no staff turn up so people give up waiting. Wouldn't go back to this hotel as I have been to a lot better for less money (although increased pricing for Christmas was expected). Many simple things appeared to be very difficult when you would expect staff to have dealt with same thing daily or weekly. Christmas day parade good but started 40 minutes late, hundreds of people in lobby yet did not think to open lobby bar. Had a great holiday but mainly through our own making.

This was a getaway for my wife and I that we needed to relax and destress and that’s exactly what we did. The beaches and area were beautiful. We highly recommend the Diamond Club. The perks are fast and easy check-in and check out, reservations at the restaurants taken care of for you (which you absolutely need), better breakfast options, beach and pool comfort, although I’ll say the entire beach and pool area are amazing!!! We had Dymond and Emerson as our butlers, yes butlers are part of the Diamond Club. Some people use them like crazy, they told us they had to check on us throughout our stay because we did not need a thing, seriously all was right there, we had food all around, bars open all day, entertainment throughout the day. Best stuff - Everyone was very friendly, Dymond and Emerson the butlers from the Diamond Club were so great with us, the Caribbean Restaurant was the best dinner, Frozen mojitos were a hit, the spa, Sylvia was a godsend. Not so great stuff - the buffet wasn’t the best food but we thankfully had a lot of other options, the rooms aren’t updated but didn’t affect the stay, housekeeping was just ok, we had to ask them for towels every day and we ran out of tissues, and the fridge wasn’t stocked. Overall this was an amazing vacation. We needed to relax and destress and that’s exactly what we did. EDIT: we almost didnt book because of the negative reviews about rude staff. The staff couldn't be nicer. Anyone complaining about them being rude are probably nasty people themselves.
